Again, another excellent visit! Good people and good food with a great location and plenty of parking. I’ll balance this positive review with a negative comment: the menu is very confusing to me. Of course the waitress was happy to explain but I think it’s time to redo the menu.

I can get fancy with the best of ‘em but a small piece of my heart still has love for a good olé fashioned diner style meal. This place certainly fits the bill. Yes, most folks that you will see walk in here will be the older crowd but PJ’s still has somewhat of a modern twist to appeal to the younger folks. Whatever you do you must try the Texan breakfast. The flapjacks are melt in your mouth good! I simply could not finish them. And they know what they are doing here with BAE(yes, that stands for bacon and eggs) they were cooked to perfection. Overall, great prices for the quality of food. Check it out on a Sunday after church or on a random day when you want to good hearty breakfast.

Great food and great service. They have the best chicken fired chicken I have ever tasted in my life. The hashbrowns taste homemade and I mean everything is good. I am so glad hubby found this lil gem. We will be back for Sunday Breakfast!

Service — 5 Food — 5 Portions — 5 Value — 5 The service was extremely nice and the waitress recommend the goulash. It was awesome and I enjoyed every bite… It was soooo good that I was missing it during my meeting two hours later. All I heard during the meeting was blah blah blah«Goulash» blah blah blah«Cornbread». The pies looked amazing and I can’t wait till I go next time. Until then, I’ll probably stop dreaming about rainbows and unicorns and start dreaming about the peach cobbler and chocolate pie. Thank You PJ’s, you guys made life a little better!!! Keep up the great service and food!!!

There is only one great waitress in the place, her name is Dovie. However, if the hostess is blond don’t bother asking for Dovie because she won’t seat you with her even if the whole section is open. The other servers are mediocre and Dovie is the only one that catches the wrong orders from kitchen before it is set in front of you. Food is classic diner food, not spectacular but not bad. All in all an ok experience but requires patience if you are hungry.

Very welcoming family feel. Great food great prices. What more can you ask for. The Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich was amazing! Add bacon and cheese! Very accommodating to larger tables as well.

Excellent service and food! Actually, probably in my top 5 of breakfast places in Dallas! My omelet was perfect, the breakfast potatoes were cooked perfect and the coffee was good! Loved my server Dovie! Made me feel real welcomed! I will definitely be going back soon!

The staff was super nice! I loved the service of this place. BUT I came for brunch and ordered a turkey avocado melt. The avocados were the pre-made processed packaged«guacamole» that you find in the veggie cold section at your local grocery store. I decided you know what fine, I can be better than that, some people do like that«guacamole». Then as I pulled out the tomatoes(I had forgotten to say no tomatoes) I realized that the tomatoes had a black rotten spot in the center and towards the end. On both halves of my sandwich. I was done at that point! I get it, some restaurants have better days than others and not every day can be «perfect» BUT A ROTTENTOMATO!!!

Best home cooking in Irving Texas, maybe the best in Texas. The service is always quick and friendly. The food is always good and there is a decent variety. Catfish night is my favorite. If you are lucky Jackie, the owner, might even sit a spell at your table and chat with you. PJ’s is so close to our house but I would drive across the city to eat there. If you have not tried it what are you waiting for!

The food was excellent quality, delivered very promptly. What stood out to me, though, was the service and atmosphere. Not too loud… Good customer base, and the employees were just so helpful and nice. We were treated so well and our visit was very smooth and high quality. Definitely recommend.

This is a late, late review… maybe 2 years late. Better now than never! We used to visit this part of Dallas often and every morning would come here during breakfast time. The service is supreme: so friendly and accommodating. I once was in the mood for Migas and noticed it was not on the menu. I asked anyway if they served Migas. The waitress didn’t know what I was talking about, but was very sweet. She said she will ask the cook if he knows how to make Migas. Well, lucky for me he did! It was even BETTER than what I’m used to here in Austin. Superb! Just wish they were closer to home, I would be a regular for sure! Oh, and as a side note: they were so good with my kids! I had 2 young ones fighting over the crayons and one of the ladies brought over a handful of crayons — Meltdown saver!

Amazing service! By far the nicest staff I have ever come a cross. The food was great but overshadowed by the amazing service. i would really find it hard to believe that anyone could have a bad experience here. I will definitely come back here. Warm syrup is the best! Dovie is a great waitress!

So glad we came here! Delicious country breakfast with great service! There was no wait on a Sunday at 11, which surprised us since the food is so good. French toast, eggs, bacon, hash browns — all were perfectly cooked and served promptly. We’ll definitely be back!

Got seated as soon as we walked in the door, the server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, ask your server if you want something u don’t see on the menu because they may have it, just not listed. The environment was the older after church crowd so it wasn’t too loud or noisy. The food was pretty good and the portions were decent size and the prices were about the norm for this area. Went for breakfast but i heard they’re known for the catfish and a few other items on their lunch menu so may go back and try

I saw how crowded PJs was at lunch and knew it had to be good. boy was I disappointed. I honestly did not read the reviews before I went. I ordered the chicken fried steak and potatoes. The chicken fried steak was previously frozen pre-formed patties. Then mashed potatoes appeared to be instant mashed potatoes with a little bit of regular potato mixed in. But that’s not the worst. We waited over 35 minutes before they delivered our food. The only reason we got it then is because we flag down the waitress and she said let me go check. Another person got the double cheeseburger with onion rings and he said the cheeseburger was okay but the onion rings were just frozen fried junkie rings. The other party had the sirloin patty with cornbread which was ice cold. From a positive perspective the rolls were good and the iced tea with only a dollar. But overall I will not be going back.

Delicious food, genuine and friendly staff, moderate pricing, and clean. This is my favorite diner. They opened for breakfast at 5:30 am on the coldest snow day last winter, and I was there with a companion. You can(usually) get a chicken fried steak and veggies for breakfast, if you want, too. This diner sells homemade pies, and they even have a(seasonal) «fruits of the forest» berry pie made with rhubarb! PJ’s Café is a rare, precious gem. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Came for lunch on a Wednesday and this place was packed! Mostly older folks about 60s 70s and some kids. Food was great. I really enjoyed my pancake, it was fluffy and soft like a cake. Food is really cheap and great. I would come back.

I am new to this restaurant but every time I have been here they have treated me like family! And the home cooking style makes me a little homesick, but in a good way. Whatever you do make sure you save room for some pie, or better yet take a whole home with you!

Thank goodness for this place. I thought I was going to have to drive to Pete’s Café in Addison everytime I wanted breakfast. Some very mediocre breakfast spots in Irving/Las Colinas. When you type best breakfast in Irving into Unilocal, the first place that comes up is Jack in the Box. Not encouraging. I went for a late breakfast around 2pm on Saturday. Not crowded at all. Quick efficient service. Ordered the Texan breakfast which comes with pancakes, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns. I thought the portions were large and I have half in the fridge. Had to take a star away because the bacon was fatty. I was too busy inhaling the rest of the food to send it back. Great eggs. Seasoned to perfection as most places do not do. Crispy tasty hashbrowns and fluffy pancakes. I never order pancakes and I’m so glad that I did. Not sure what they put in their batter but I’d love to buy it. I would come out of my way to come back here. Open until 830pm on Saturday by the way
