Love this beach! Drove down from Miami to go to John Pennekamp state park and we were looking for a nice beach to go to afterward. We found this place on Unilocal and decided to check it out. It isn’t huge but it was perfect. Nice shaded area right on the water and there were chairs, snorkel gear, kayaks etc to rent. Nice restaurant right next to the beach where you can sit and eat or get take out. Our waitress Kelly took great care of us and even provided beach side delivery of our order.

Great little beach side stop off MM88. The staff were warm, friendly and accommodating. What I appreciated is that they offered you to lay on the beach with your own personal beach items with no pressure to buy or rent from them. However we did rent 2 beach chairs for our stay and the price covers you for a daily rental vs a few hours. Next door is a nice beach side restaurant that also has great food and drinks for a decent price! Next time I’m in the keys I’ll definitely move back.

We took a day trip to the keys and I noticed a parking area with water, the sign said Pier 88(around mile marker 88). We turned around to go back. We parked and walked around and on the dock. Chairs and benches lined the water facing west. There is a restaurant and outdoor bar here and I’m not sure if this is their property or public property. Whoever it belongs to, it would be a beautiful place to watch the sunset. We planned to come back and watch the sunset but our timing was a bit off driving back. Someone, please go watch the sunset here with a beer in hand and let me know if it is as perfect as I imagined it to be.
