Overall: Good and informative buying experience The main aim was to buy a house as soon as possible on arriving in the US. We started looking in November 2006 and on 21st December we moved in. First time buying ANYWHERE is a scary thing, since it involves such a large amount of money. Coldwell managed to put us at ease and explained everything to us clearly. They explained terms which were totally unfamiliar to us, such as «earnest money», they also gave us their experience of how long wiring money internationally takes etc. Our agent was Jenny Hill, she was recommended by a colleague. On meeting her for the first time, she had got together a nice folder with all areas that were of interest to us — it was very well organized! She was quite informative, but I have no idea how these agents should be like. I managed to see about 30 houses in total and narrowed it down to one. Jenny was always available to us and took our calls even at 21:00(09:00pm) on Friday/Saturday night, when negotiations were in place. The negotiations went smoothly and we delayed moving in because we had none of our furniture — all of it was currently in a sea container somewhere. It arrived on the 22nd December, so for the first night we had JUST a bean bag, duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels!
