My friend and I had a very lovely dinner here. This may be my 4th time at this restaurant. Food and service was excellent. Outdoor dining spaces are under trees or separated by bushes and plantings and there are serveral deck seating areas as well. At night, a large barn lantern with a string of small lights inside lights up under a huge tree. Other trees are lit up from below. It a very romantic setting. If you have time and chat with the manager/owner, you may get a tour of the numerous antique and repurposed decorations all over the restaurant. For dessert, I would recommend the chocoate sushi(no fish) that come with chopsticks.

A nice gem in RI, Simpatico is 5 stars from service, to food, and décor. We had a great server named Carolyn. For dinner we had bolognese and the ziti, which were perfection. The desserts looked great, but we were so full from dinner. What is chocolate sushi?! Can’t wait to go back. Dinner on the deck is a must.

Not the Sympatico it was last year. It went from family friendly to not family friendly. If the food was great and they met the mark for an upper class restaurant then I’d understand — but they don’t. Paying over $ 100 for a meal to feel uncomfortable as a result of the staff we felt was unacceptable. A better restaurant for Jamestown but don’t bring kids. We were disappointed. And the review from Chris R… looks like a plug from management…

I used to really love this place. However, my fiancé’ and I just went there this past week and I have to note a few things. 1) We both got food poisoning from the restaurant. My fiancé’ called just to alert them to check their food and they gave him a really bad attitude about it. We were just giving them a heads up. 2) The food is not as good as it used to be(taste wise, and also, see #1). We shared calamari and both had seafood dinners. I’ve definitely had better, especially for the price. 3) They don’t take reservations anymore, which isn’t a bad thing. However, they tell you«you can choose to sit wherever you want!» But, when we got there it was completely empty(maybe 3 tables being used), and they wouldn’t let us have our table of choice because it was a 4 top and there were only 2 of us. If it was a busy night I could understand, but it was dead. Needless to say, we won’t be going back. It’s too bad, because the ambiance is beautiful.

Food was great. Drinks were terribly weak. Bartender seemed either under-experienced or over worked. She seemed like she was overextended by covering the bar, service bar, and some tables. She didn’t have time to give the bar customers the attention we needed. This is pre-season… summer will likely be worse.

Holy banging desserts Batman! But wait, like any delicious tryst you need to build up to it. My fabulous wife and I went last night — they just re-opened for the season on 03⁄31 — and to our delight it is Newport restaurant week — Yay! Started off with a bottle of Whispering Angel Rose — and I had the –NEWENGLANDCHOWDER… SWEETCORN + APPLEWOODSMOKEDBACON …6 + ADD2LOBSTERFRITTERS while my wife had –CAPRESEBRUSCHETTA… CREAMYMOZZARELLA, SWEETTOMATOES, FRESHBASIL, XVOO + BALSAMICGLAZE(when in ALLCAPS I took the description right from their menu which may found online). The chowder was wonderful. A really nice twist to a classic. A bit smoky and rich. The flavors were multi-layered and it great. Honestly, the Caprese was just okay. It’s an interesting idea but grape tomatoes just don’t work. It’s a bit awkward and unwieldy. Tasty, for sure but not brilliant. Dinner: Me: –THEBOLOGNESE… CLASSIC, RICHPREPARATIONOFRIGATONISIMMERED with GROUNDBEEF, VEAL, HOT + SWEETSAUSAGE, SHAVEDPARMESAN + FRESHBASIL and my bride: –GLAZEDATLANTICSALMON*… GRILLEDFILET, MAPLE-SOYGLAZE, GINGER-SCENTEDJASMINERICE, SESAMESAUTEEDVEGETABLES. Both were fantastic. And by fantastic I mean delicious, fresh, the right temperature, really well plated(they looked as good as they tasted). Only suggestion — for the Bolognese — it is just too damn good to have parmesan cheese from a glass shaker — have the waiter or waitress bring a rotary cheese grater over to put fresh parmesan so the diner can see the delicate little wisps of fresh cheese melt into that bowl of goodness. That dish deserves it. It is definitely that good. Dessert(now here is the climax): I had the CHOCOLATESUSHI: CHOCOLATETRUFFLEROLLED in COCONUT with STRAWBERRYCOCOASAUCE + CARAMELIZEDBANANA — seriously? Yeah, everything it should be PLUS finger-licking decadent naughtiness. It was like a cold Mounds bar — only 1,000 times better. And it was served with chopsticks. Incredibly cute. The banana part seems like an afterthought — I don’t really get it — but it was good nonetheless. Wife: GELATO… CREAMY, RICH, DARKCHOCOLATE — again, wow. Freakishly good. Our waitress, Taylor was delightful. Attentive, pleasant with a radiant smile. She was great. It was a great to start to the 2016 summer season. Now if we can just get mother nature to cooperate…

Simpatico has really good service. Food is ok. Not kid friendly. They have high chairs but I don’t feel welcomed there with my children. Last time we went they sat everyone with children in the back corner outside in the tent while the inside of the restaurant was empty. I also was a bit offended when the owner came to our table with a toy to essentially entertain my 1 year old because she was talking loudly. Meanwhile she’s eating food with a bag of tricks right next to her. They are not open for lunch which is a shame with the fantastic location. Parking is good. They have some spots on the side of the building and an overflow lot down the street. Overall. Meh. Service and location are carrying this place.

Our friends had picked this spot out for us to try that evening so I really didn’t know what to expect. On reading the Unilocal reviews, I was a little unsure being that it had a 3 star rating. Seemed like it could go either way. We arrived and as soon as we passed the place, we were impressed with the outdoor seating are. All the hanging lights and an mostly enclosed gazebo type area looked very nice. Being that it was a little chilly that night, we asked the hostess about sitting out there. She said feel free to go in and see if it is warm enough for you. There were heaters overhead that left it comfortable so we were seated. I started off with the lobster, tasso sweet corn fritters. Deep fries with a jalapeño aioli. How the hell could I not try them ??? Good lord they were delicious! Just a slight kick of heat, but nothing anyone wouldn’t be able to tolerate. Next up was my entrée, the hangar steak with a bourbon and gorgonzola demi-glacé, asparagus, and roasted garlic mashed bliss potatoes. Excellent! Steak was perfectly cooked. The mashed were incredible! For the life of me, I can’t remember what everyone else had other than they all loved what they did get! What began as an apprehensive trip, became a very enjoyable meal thanks to great food, friendly service, and a beautiful ambiance. RECOMMENDED!

We went on a surprise date over the weekend so my husband picked the restaurant. I typically like to look at the menu in advance to know what I want, so i didn’t have that opportunity this time. Absolutely loved the ambiance and the hostess who greeted us. We went upstairs to a cute table on the deck(in hindsight I should have picked the cute patio area). Our waitress was good but a little too rushy. It was only about 5:30 in the evening so we wanted to take our time and have a nice leisurely dinner. We ordered drinks(wine for me– tasty and $ 8– perfect price point and a mojito $ 12 for the hubby) and had some yummy warm bread. I love warm bread. I just makes a meal for me. We started with the goat cheese and beets salad — I ate it all up and it was a HUGE portion. Definitely can split for 2 ½ish people. I ordered the swordfish over vegetable rattouilee. My fish was just a tiny bit overdone so I was a bit dissapointed. It wasn’t bad by any means but at that price point($ 26) I just think it should have been excellent. My husband LOVED his porkchop and he’s a big critic so that’s the reason I am elevating this to a four. We didn’t try dessert. I don’t think I would run back but it was good…

atmosphere is great, a continuance on the previous owners view but bigger and better! Issues: Waited a very long time to get a drink… Waited a long time to get a refill… Asked the chef to make me a dish and take something out, kitchen said they would not do that??? I asked if it was premade, they said no, it was a simple request as well, not like I asked them to make NE chowder with no cream or something! So if you can’t do that, I’ll take my wallet to Plum Point where they never say no to food request. If your food is fresh, leaving something out should be easy… When I asked why they couldn’t do it because it was not busy, they told me chef was in a bad mood. What a joke.

We have been here many times and loved it. Tonight we were informed that appetizers and dinner have to be ordered together. Mine came and not my husbands, he never got to eat. We won’t be back. What a shame.

Recently expanded and renovated with lovely outdoor seating. Good food at very reasonable prices and the service was also good. It gets busy on a Saturday night and they do not take reservations.

Went with friends last night! We had so much fun. The feel is of being in the outdoors in a giant treehouse. There was a great vibe and everyone was having fun. We started with a drink and sat in the patio. Appetizers were great we had rhody clams, calamari, and tuna. All three were delicious! Presentation was very nice. For dinner the bolognese was incredible. Def recommend Simpatico. My only recommendation is a smoother check in process and more individualized service from our server. They were all wonderful but we had about 5 different people attending to us which was nice but felt a little overwhelming at times Overall 4 stars and definitely recommend!

My dinner was superb. Simpatico is truly a farm-to-table restaurant, and the chef is well-trained in the culinary arts. My dinner here was memorable. The outdoor setting is lovely: romantic, beautifully decorated by nature’s gifts of exotic plants set in a patio that has an absolutely gorgeous 162 year old beech tree. Outdoor lighting illuminates the natural beauty of the outdoor patio. As for the food, it was divine. My husband’s appetizer was tuna encrusted with sesame set on a bed of seaweed that was mildly pickled and seasoned with red pepper flakes, and it was set next to homemade large wantons. I opted for a plate of herb goat cheese and prosciutto, which was complemented with a walnut jam, fresh farm raised strawberries, olives, and a mustard tapenade. My entrée was outstanding: perfectly seared scallops with a hint of sea salt. The accompanying sauce had red pepper buttery sauce, a pork belly, and fresh dill. This dish came with a cornbread reduction and farm fresh local asparagus. My husband’s entrée chicken fettuccine which contained peas, wild mushrooms, and feta cheese. Both plates were full of color and texture. I can’t comment on dessert because I had no room left in my tummy for dessert, but I can say that some of what I saw being served looked really good. I’ll be back soon!

We drove two hours to visit Beavertail Lighthouse and walk around Jamestown and Newport on Mothers Day. I don’t know enough about the area to have made a lunch reservation, so we took our chances and winged it. After our wonderful hike around Beavertail, we drove into Jamestown knowing there would be a wait for lunch since it was Mothers Day, and we happened to score street parking across the street from Simpatico. The restaurant looked inviting, so my party of 6 asked if they had available tables, and they sat us on the open patio immediately. The woman who owns or manages the establishment could not have been more engaging or friendlier, in the best of ways. We immediately felt welcome. it looks like they are in the middle of renovations in part of the restaurant, but that didn’t take away from the ambiance from where we were sitting. The patios are spacious, with just enough tree cover, and the weather could not have been more perfect for that setting. Their menu is compact but has something for everyone. Two of us had the chicken pasta dish, two had the angus burger, one margarita pizza and one special of the day ravioli with lamb. Everything was delicious, nicely seasoned and very flavorful. The chicken pasta and the ravioli special were particularly well executed. Our waitress was friendly, professional and did a great job from cocktails to the most adorable little takeaway boxes for our leftovers. We enjoyed our meal there very much, and felt like we had stumbled upon a really fabulous find. Thanks, Simpatico, for making our Mothers Day a little more special!
