Dining in or delivery, the food is always good. I get the shrimp Cesar salad on the regular, sometimes 2 – 4 times a week for either lunch or dinner. I will say the reason they only get 4 stars is the pizza is is not always great. I get individual slices and sometimes they are burnt underneath or not hot enough. Just a quick sidebar: Is it me or has every pizza spot in Jersey City upped their price per slice to $ 2.50+?? Overall good place to come and grab a good bite.

I’m changing my one star to four. I just spoke to the Manager after I posted this(as I had to call again) and while on the phone, the delivery showed up. The Manager offered me a discount on my next order. He was very apologetic when I called the second time. Also, the owner messaged me on here and was very apologetic. I’m glad they were very responsive and I stand by my first review regarding the high quality of food. I will order from them again in the hopes that this was just an off night.

Ordered pick up through Seamless one night. Had half a buffalo chicken pizza and half a meat lovers pizza. The pizza is okay if you have an insane craving for it but it definitely wasn’t anything fantastic. The buffalo chicken pizza had celery on it, which I thought was weird. I also decided to get a Philly cheesesteak, which I regretted as soon as I had a few bites. I wasn’t really expecting much but I was expecting it to satisfy my philly craving, which it did not. There was barely any cheese in there, if any at all. Dried steak sammie would have been a more accurate description. I don’t think I would order either of these items again but I wouldn’t mind trying their Italian sandwiches. Maybe that’s their forte?

I walked in on a whim for a slice one day. Good stuff. Better than most other JC places. Ordered in tonight, was here in about 35 minutes, hot and pretty tasty. The delivery man was very nice and when they called about running out of a specific soda my brother wanted they gave more options, most places will just stick a pepsi in the bag without confirming. Got a cheese pizza, meat lovers pizza and an order of chicken fingers. Pretty good all around.

Cute little Italian and pizza joint in the Hamilton Park area. Sat inside with a friend and had the rice ball which was served sliced in half with melted cheese and a very good sauce. Delicious!!! Also had the eggplant sliders which came served on sliced garlic knots with sauce and ended with a slice of Sicilian pizza. I had tried the garlic knots when my friend catered in for a barbecue and hands down, these are the best I have had. Wish I lived closer for delivery.

I live near this place so it was about time I gave it a try. We ordered takeout and then walked over to pick it up. Only took about 20 minutes. The large was definitely big enough for two people wth lots of leftover. The pizza itself was very good! Thin crust and a nice sauce. We got vegetables on top which were also good, tasted fresh. The inside of the place looked cute, just a traditional pizzeria. Has a nice atmosphere and family friendly. But they also have more than just pizza on their menu. Might have to go back to try some of their other Italian specialties. The guy at the counter was really nice. He saw me looking at the brownie and after a strange incident with another customer, he gave it to us. Thank you!

I love the place. Great people, friendly and hardworking staff. The anchor in the neighborhood. The place where everybody knows your order. They love your kids. Your kids love this place. I just don’t like their pizza.

Good pizza spot in Jersey City. Had a slice and a broccoli rabe with sausage sandwich for lunch. Very tasty and filling. Prices reasonable too. Lack of one star was due to the amount of kids in the place. Kids in the area fill the pizza places for lunch and are pretty loud. If going to lunch, make sure it’s around 11:30 am or after 1:00 pm. Kids left to head back around 1 pm.

I cook for a living and this is my go to place when I want Italian… First off. The owner is a Gem. Jay not only welcomed us to the neighborhood with open arms, but brought some extras to the table to celebrate. I own my biz, and understand food costs, so we really appreciated how kind he was to us. The food is crazy delicious! Penne Vodka. heavy on the garlic which is what I love! Chicken Marsala. is my favorite. and it’s perfect here. I’ve both dishes at the restaurant and delivered. Always Great. Pizza: Thin crust with a lot of taste. The marinara is the best i’ve had in town! Meatball Parm is a guilty pleasure. Not sure what’s better. then Meatball or the bread. If you’re on the fence, order. It’s really worth it!!!

Sad this place is a hit or miss depends on who’s cooking… ordered: Meatball parm Ravioli with a meat sauce. First strike: ! they gave us chicken instead of meatball so i had to go back and pick up the sandwich to thier credit they let us keep the chicken sandwich. … At $ 34.00 for two meals the quality abousoulty sucks … Lets start with the ravioli with meat sauce … extremely watery and it seem like they took regular sauce and added chopped meat and garlic terrible. … Meatball sub … man did this really sucked also tastes like chopped meat with sauce and the meatballs were extremely dry almost like it was cooked the night before … terrible— Was so disgusted with the meatball sub i went to the chicken parm they let us keep dammm it was even worse chicken was hard as a rock no joke … we peel off the coating and the chicken look like a piece of leather(no joke even the dogs would not eat) for some reason it seams like they are precooking food letting it sit and reheating when order comes in … absolutely a waste of money and terrible.. and its a shame because its a stones though from the house … this will be the last time we order from here …

Really disappointed in you guys. Smh. The food is ok(2 Stars) but limited menu and absolutely terrible service will keep me away. I’m guessing this is why Jersey is known for bad customer service.

Ordered a grandma pizza and a cheese steak wrap. The cheese steak wrap was severely lacking in cheese. The grandma pizza was not. It was round, had no cheese, and was basically a flat bread with some(not much) sauce spread on top. Will not order from here again.

We just moved back to the NYC area from North Carolina and have been missing the Italian food and pizza. We were mid-move, exhausted and without furniture and decided to take the plunge and order our first Jersey City pizza. I called up Delenios and sheepishly asked what kinds of specialty pizzas they made, knowing it was a Friday night and they must be insanely busy. To my surprise, the guy who answered was super friendly and listed the entire pizza menu to me, adding in his recommendations. This in itself was a great surprise. We ordered the Grandma pizza and garlic knots, though they were sadly sold out of the latter. The pizza arrived quickly at the hands of an equally friendly delivery person. It was fantastic. The dough was crisp on the outside, soft inside, and was all-in all delicious. The proportions of toppings were spot on, and the quality of ingredients was superb. After years of eating the best«New York style» pizza NC had to offer, this was on another level. We’ve ordered three times since in the last month we’ve been here and both times were met with equally pleasant people on the phone and great pizza delivered(the garlic knots are great when you can get them). Delenio’s, thank you for the great food and friendly service. It’s good to be home.

Mom and pop shop that’s been open for 7 years, dang! I was greeted by the owner when I came to redeem my belly card bites offer for a free chicken parmigiana roll. The place looked really cozy and I made some small talk while I wanted for my order. I like the set up of the place, brick wall and a little window for you to peek in to while you eat so you can see how fresh your food is. The chicken parmigiana roll was huuuuuge ! Fresh and hot, made on the spot. Portions are more than enough for two. I’d probably come back to try the pizza if I’m around the area again, their bread is really soft, there wasn’t much chicken but I won’t complain since it’s free. They also offer 10% off when you check in on Unilocal

Ah. Review updates! I may have been a bit harsh on my delivery review of Delenio. I did pop in the other day and ordered up some grub to eat in! This of course ended up with a different review for a different experience. We ordered an eggplant wrap, a chicken milanese and a caesar salad. The chicken milanese was fantastic. A breaded and fried, thinly pounded chicken topped with fresh arugula, tomatoes and mozzarella cubes. 4 stars. Get it. The eggplant wrap was good, but by no means something I recommend. I actually didn’t eat the wrap, and found the eggplant to be a bit too breaded for my tasting pleasure. You kind of can’t taste the eggplant when it’s got an inch thick layer of flavorless breading. The mutz was fantastic! It came with a pretty large side salad, that wasn’t sexy at all: straight outta the container, but I was still pumped it was there. The caesar salad was solid. No complaints. Service was super casual, as is this place overall. Everything was pretty good making me bump this review from two to three! A nice neighborhood joint.
