Longs Drug Stores

When other stores aren’t stocked up on something that I want, Longs is a good place to go. They’re in the Lanihau Shopping Center and have a nice parking lot with a good amount of spacious parking stalls. In recent years they closed off one of their entrances to the actual store so now they just have one set of automatic doors.
The lines are never that long and the store itself doesn’t get very crowded. I really like their bargain deals though; they have an aisle with some «bargain buys» that are super cheap. I like to go to Longs to get lingerie bags for whenever I do laundry (I think it cost $ 2). But their bargain deals in general are great because the items are all useful, household things. They have those tub drainers that catch hair in the drain, and they also had some sport watches for like $ 5!

I felt that one of the pharmacists here was rude, seemingly presumptuous and judgmental, and just plain disinterested in being friendly or nice. What the heck is up with that?
The other staff were more helpful eventually. But all it takes is one bad apple I guess.
Perhaps more training should help. Mahalo.

An entire aisle of local snacks and candies. I did a happy dance when I found the furikake chex mix that I’ve been dreaming about for YEARS since a friend brought some back from Hawaii. I also bought every kind of Li hing gummy candy… From at least 4 different brands! I should have just gotten a bag of Li hing powder there to take home and coat normal gummy bears.
They also had a good selection of macadamia nuts at competitive prices… Especially since one brand was on sale! Yippee!

One of the reviewers was right — this is now CVS!!! Boy, I was happy to hear that because I forgot my prescription at home and I was able to have it transferred here without needing my prescription insurance card in person. I just called the pharmacy, ordered it and then picked it up! It was so easy! Aside from that, they have everything you need — sunblock, aloe, snacks, food, alcohol, water, etc etc etc. Also, the pharmacy is open til 8pm!

I LOVE LONGS DRUGS!!! Granted now they are owned by CVS but I still get the good Hawaiian vibe from the store.
This location on Palani St. is perfect for a stop in on your way to your hotel if you forgot any toiletry at home or you want to buy a cheap bottle of rum to make your own Mai Tais. ;)
BYOB (bags) or buy one of their cute reusable ones.

This is for there pharmacy, they suck. I had a prescription to pick up, they took forever to fill. Then when i was about to pay for it, she went to another person in another line.
Please finish my transaction first then go to another. Will not use this pharmacy again!

CVS full pharmacy store with minor groceries too. Need that special snack, they have that too. Oh, and the drinks, drinks, drinks. Adult or kids, they gotcha covered. Lots of parking and they also have a Red Box and a Bank of Hawaii bank machine.
