Years later — still my favorite place to eat in Kalispell. I’m obsessed with their Kalispell Brewing Co. burger. The bleu cheese and fig appetizer is delicious. The salads are always fresh and tasty. The trout appetizer is great. Fiancé always orders the Pub burger and swears by it. Service is always friendly and efficient.

NOT the best restaurant in Kalispell. Not even close. To be fair, the service was impeccable. We went in at 6 pm, one hour after they opened. They were out of a special already, duck burger. My second choice, from the regular menu, was a wild boar burger. They were out of that, too. My last choice, a random cheeseburger, was available, and may have been the worst, most overcooked burger I have ever had. It rivals microwavable food. Dry, flavorless, and boring. So, good for you for having tolerable service. Bad food doesn’t make up for it. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but I have no intention of going back and ruining another meal to find out. I expected a LOT more from a restaurant that got this much press. I’ll never go back. Go across the street to the Italian restaurant.

Incredible food and service. We were looking forward to the Wild Boar burger but they were out so my wife had the Yack and I had the Buffalo. Both were fantastic. And oh, did I forget the grilled Flatbread appetizer and lobster soup? We can hardly wait to return

Decent food but terrible service. They don’t take reservations and won’t estimate wait til so you could walk right in and sit down or might wait 20 min. Rude staff and really really noisy atmosphere.

Really awesome place. Took my girlfriend here on a date. We got the french fries, she got a tomato basil bisque special and a side salad, I got the Yak Burger. We also shared a flourless torte. The fries are truly exceptional. Big portion, came out piping hot, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and presented masterfully. Her salad looked pretty good but I didn’t try any of it. However, I got to have a good amount of her bisque. That was really great too. A little bit spicy for me(it wasn’t really that spicy) but overall it was phenomenal. The Yak Burger was excellent as well. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and I even got her to try some. Only minor complaint about the burger is that it sort of came apart but then I just finished it off with a fork. Meat itself was excellent. The chips that came with the burger were pretty good as well. I’m not a huge chip fan but they were definitely tasty. The torte was solid as well. However, we were both so full by the time desert came around we couldn’t fully appreciate it. The atmosphere was solid as well. Good music(wasn’t live) and quiet overall(one screaming baby for about two minutes. Maybe the most pleasant part of the experience was the service. Our waiter was so so friendly. Looking forward to going back there!

I was concerned I was headed to a chain I knew called Hops initially but I was surprised to find a gastro pub with a slight western flavor. My entrée choice was a Yak burger. It is a ½ pound of bold flavor with a sweet end on it served with caramelized onions, bbq sauce and ginger. The flavors together are a nice medley. They have a good local and specialty beer tap. The place is small and feels very cozy. I’m just visiting but this would be on my list to return to should I get the chance.

It was average food and experience. We came in to give their specialty burger a try after a long day of driving. I had the Kallispell Brewing company burger while my husband had the Mission Montana Buffalo burger both with home made potato chips on the side. I must say that the meat is tasty and juicy but I had better. It definitely did not dethroned the famous Cali(in and out burger) which is less than half the price of the burger here. Perhaps its the sauce that needs improvement to blend and complement with the good quality meat. Also, the bun was a bit dry for my pallette. I had also tried the crab and shrimp cake that they had on the menu but that one was not a big hit either. It tasted more with batter than crab and shrimp meat. As for the house made chips, it was chunky but alright. Overall, its an a-ok for me.

Spent a couple of nights in Kalispell and decided to check out Hops. Drinks were great, good selection if beers and wine. We had the grilled Flatbread appetizer which was very good, it had a light pesto spread and was served with tapenade and cooked onions & cherry tomatoes. Would definitely get that again. I had the Buffalo burger which was tasty and their homemade chips don’t disappoint. My burger was served medium and was cooked to temp. Two others from our group had the wild boar burger which they both said was good although a little dry, cooked well done rather than medium. Our last group member had the pub burger and has no complaints. The service was excellent, it’s a tiny restaurant so we had a bit of a wait but it was worth it.

I should start with a disclaimer to say that dinner at Hop’s was our first meal after a week in the Glacier backcountry. It was delicious! We started with crabcakes, which were perfect. I had a steak, which was also perfect, and a bite of Abby’s bison burger. Hop’s claims to have the best burgers in Montana, and I believe them! Her burger was so good, I almost ordered a second entrée! They even had Henry Weinhard’s root beer in the bottle, so I was a happy camper.

fairly limited menu selection, you can only eat so many burgers when you’re in Montana. On the other hand, the side salad was pretty good. wine selection was there, beer selection also adequate. seeing as though Kalispell has such limited options for cuisine, I guess this is as good as it gets.

Hop’s makes me think neither downtown, nor grill. It’s more like town gastropub with a hint of country club. Anyway, back to Hop’s Towntown Gastropub: The menu includes a variety of hard-to-find mammal patties *oooh, ahhh.* The Yak burger won my vote due to superior accoutrements, potential for songs that include the word«yak,» and I’ve-never-tried-that-before factor. With Tibetan BBQ sauce, ginger, onion, and un-gaminess, this tender, juicy amalgamation of Southern and Asian flavors dressed to impress. My recommendation? YAKYAKYAKYAK… you oughta know by now.

Was excited to try Hops with all the fanfare surrounding their burgers and fries. We came for a late dinner Saturday night, and while it was still packed, managed to snag a table. Their rotating draft amber was good, though really mellow. The fries were flat. Chunks of potato wedges that were under seasoned, but cool Jenga-like presentation. We ordered three different burgers, with the Brie/beef and Yak being the favorites. The wild boar had a lot of favor, if you like spicy. While the burgers weren’t the best I’ve ever had, they were pretty tasty for game meat.

We finally were able to check this place out. It stands out as a beacon of taste on the charming main street of Kalispell. It’s smaller than expected, but we were able to be seated right away. They have an extensive beer menu and daily specials. Service was professional and prompt. I had the vegetarian burger. It was handmade deliciousness. It’s large and a little messy so you may need a fork to finish it off. Mine came with a side of coleslaw, but the burger was so much, I didn’t try it. A very popular place for good reason.

Great local place, server recommended the Yakburger, the Yaks are raised just a couple miles away at a local ranch, and it was delicious. I had a local stout to go with it, also very good. Ambiance is fun, small town western feel to it.(and you’re in Kalispell Montana right?) service was excellent, menu was just big enough to have something for anyone, but make no mistake back home in California we would classify Hops as a Gourmet Burger place cause burgers are their specialty and take up most of the menu I will eat here again before I go home and anytime I return to this part of the country, which by the way has great friendly people, not just great scenery

Best meal that we had while in Montana. The server was hugely helpful with giving us a list of local recommendations, and her beer suggestions were absolutely spot on. Those burgers, though. Those burgers. Major yum. I had the yak burger with the pickled ginger and Himalayan BBQ sauce. It was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious.

I was visiting from Seattle and this was the first place we went for a meal. The menu all looked really good, but I figured I should ask the staff what’s best. There was an option for«Hop’s Extreme Burgers» that I had to try. One was a yak, one was buffalo and the other was wild boar. I asked the waiter what would be the best one and without hesitation he said wild boar. I was leaning yak, I even phoned a friend that said yak, but the waiter convinced me to go wild boar. I did not regret it one bit! It came with jalapeños, cheddar and bacon. The flavor was full and you could easily tell this wasn’t your average hamburger(because it literally was not a beef hamburger). When I find myself in Kalispell again I’ll have to go to this restaurant at least 2 times because one of those times I’ll get the boar again. Maybe try the yak the other time. Go to Hops and get the wild boar burger, now.

I am in town for work and needed a quick bite before going back to work. I was actually heading to another place, that turned out to be closed for dinner despite what it said on Unilocal, when I passed by here on my way back to the hotel. It look good from the outside, so in the door I went. Glad I did. They have a very nice selection of burgers. Since I was in Montana, I choose the buffalo burger. It was a good choice. It was served with provolone cheese that was melted just right. It was cooked medium and was not runny, as some undercooked burgers can be. The bun was toasted and did not overwhelm the burger. I added some Dijon mustard and took a bite. It was just right, still warm. Lovely burger. I ordered cole slaw, which was as good as I have had in a long time. The slaw was crisp and not drowned in dressing. It was really good. Really. I did not have a reservation, so ate at the bar. That worked out just fine. I got waited upon very quickly and the food came out in a reasonable time. In short, the service was very good. If you are a beer lover, this is a very good place for you. The list is long. However, I am not and found what I hope would be good on the special list and guessed right. This place was very busy and full of people. It has a warm feeling. I lucked out tonight.
