Hollyday Aesthetics

I cannot rave enough about the phenomenal massage I received last Friday from Danielle. I had received a gift certificate several months prior for Hollyday Aesthetics and finally decided to cash it in. When I called for a booking the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, the receptionist was very helpful in suggesting multiple times that might work for my schedule and setting me up to receive a reminder via email prior to the actual date.
When I arrived, I was immediately offered hot tea or citrus water. Danielle was out to get me within minutes. There were no forms to fill out (so no need to arrive extra early), but she did talk to me briefly about why I was in, when my last massage was, and any of my general concerns. She gave me a quick overview of her technique and what to expect during the session.
After the massage started, she was great at checking to make sure the pressure was fine with me, and upping it when I said I was comfortable with that. Her technique was excellent and the transitions to each area were very smooth. She definitely worked some major knots out of my back, shoulders, and legs! The addition of aromatherapy mist was nice. After working through an especially tough area, she applied hot towels to help keep the muscles loose/​relaxed while she moved on to the next portion. Halfway through the massage, I switched from face down to face up. I was worried the massage was almost over at this point, since the other massages I’ve had switch closer to the very end of the session, but it wasn’t. Danielle focused on some pressure points in the face and scalp, then continued to work on my back/​shoulders, arms, and legs. It was so relaxing toward the end that I nearly fell asleep!
Danielle made sure after the massage that everything was okay, and I immediately booked another appointment with the receptionist. I can’t wait to treat myself to another session! I highly recommend Danielle if you have a lot of tension that needs to be worked on, or you’re looking for a special gift for someone (a gift card here is the way to go and is valid for a full year!). For only $ 75 for an hour, it’s dangerous knowing this place is so close to home.

I was in a pinch, quite literally, as I was meeting a client in Brookside, had very little time before I had to meet my next client in Overland Park, and my neck was killing me. I found Hollyday Aesthetics via Unilocal and called them to see if I could get in for a head and neck massage. They had no appointments available within my timeframe, but the moment they heard I was in pain they called Cyndi, who had just left for the day and said they could see me immediately.
Cyndi was absolutely amazing and gave me no grief for having been called back in. Not only did she relieve my pain, but she also did what no massage therapist or chiropractor was able to do before her — she gave me back full range of motion in my neck. Until I had a massage by Cyndi, I was convinced that my range of motion with my neck was limited after an accident I had several years ago. I immediately noticed I was able to turn my head much further than I had in years!

Hollyday Aesthetics is hands down the best place to get a facial or massage. I have tried many places, in many different states and many different countries and ALWAYS look forward to going home to Kansas City and visiting Hollyday!
Everyone at Hollyday is talented and very professional. The atmosphere is relaxing, calming and beautiful.

I came yo KC to visit family and decided to treat myself to a facial. As an Escherichia myself, I have pretty high standards. Paige met them all! I got so many compliments on my skin I’ve already rebooked for the next time I’m in town. Best of all, she didn’t try to «talk shop» so I got to relax and just be the client. Love the spa and love Paige!

I was beyond excited for a long awaited girls weekend. I scheduled massages, nails and facials months ahead of time since my best friend would be visiting (she lives 4 hours away). The day before our appointment Hollyday called and cancelled on us. As a result, I had to scurry around trying to find someone who could take us last minute. Thankfully the AMAZING Shine Spa in Westport squeezed us in. It was wonderful! Never ever will I schedule with Hollyday again. Very unprofessional!

Holly is, simply put, the best in the business. I have been a client of hers since her days at the salon down the street something like eight years ago and I was happy to follow her when she started her own place. Her waxes are as close to painless as you can get and she is always fun to talk to. I assume her other waxers/​facialists are excellent too, because I know what high standards she sets for herself. I am almost reluctant to write this review because it’s hard enough already to get an appt, but if you’re in the market for any sort of service, waxes, massages, facials, etc, Hollyday is a great choice!

Are you ready for a little TMI?
I went and got some waxing done today. Don’t get too skeeved out, it wasn’t my No-​No Zone. No, I just wanted to get the ol’ back cleaned up a bit for the rapidly approaching pool season. What can I say? For some dudes it’s a necessity.
ANYHOW… I did my usual Unilocal shopping around. First by quality of reviews, then by price. For me, Hollyday Aesthetics seemed like a clear choice. It seems that everybody that goes here LOVES it, and the price was significantly less than it was going to be at another place I checked out. I called yesterday to book an appointment, doing my typical «just get me in ASAP» thing (I suspect all salon receptionists HATE me), and they had an opening the very next day!
When I walked into the business, the first thing I was struck by was how nice the place smelled. That plus the dim lights and the new age-​ish music made thew hole place quite relaxing, in a totally stereotypical spa way. The woman at the front desk was very nice. They offered me water with orange slices in it. I declined, but hey, the offer was nice.
Then it was time to go back and do the deed. It’s been about a year since I have had this service done, so my comparisons might not be completely accurate, but I’d say that this was the better experience. Celina did the duties today, and she was warm and friendly, but also matter of fact and professional. We had a great rapport right from the start. She was sympathetic to the fact that this isn’t exactly a pleasant experience, but I told her that I’m a brave, big strong man and to just do it! It DID hurt, but we pushed through it without any «composure breaks» and in 20 minutes or so, I was smooth and sexy.
I have no complaints at all about the experience. Pleasant from start to finish — well, not ‘pleasant’, but you know what I mean. I’m not currently giving a 5 star review because I have only experienced one of the many services they provide, and only one time. But the next time I need some sort of spa service, I’ll go here first. At that point, I can easily see them earning a 5^th star.
PRO TIP: While you can obviously pay for your services on your credit or debit card, you cannot add tip. Bring cash or forever feel like a jerk. I was stuck giving my person the measly $ 5 that was in my pocket. Sorry Celina! You’re awesome, and I’ll make it up next time.

Judging by the reviews that are listed here, Hollyday fans are a pretty loyal bunch and I am no different.
I go to Hollyday for massage, facials and pedicures and each of these services are top notch. My husband goes for massages too and loves the place.
I feel like Hollyday is a perfect example of getting what you pay for. My pedicures last up until the very last day before I go to get another one.
It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even book services at fun hotels on vacation (most of the time…) because I’m always disappointed that they aren’t Hollyday worthy.

I have been going to Hollyday for a few years now. This spa is very cozy and relaxing and Holly gives the best facials! I have had alot of facials at different spas over the years and Holly is by far the best. I started seeing Holly for eyebrow waxes and she helped me grow out/​even out my eyebrows and they always look great when I leave there! All the staff are very friendly too. I would highly recommend this local spa!

I love Holly Day… I agree with the other reviewer about Cindy… she is AMAZING.
The ambiance at Holly Day is relaxing and peaceful and everything there is gorgeous. All of the staff are friendly and helpful… you will love the attention you get at Holly Day.
Every service I have had there has been wonderful. I go regularly for massages and they never disappoint. I’ve done facials, bikini waxes (OUCH! But Holly and the other staff are so professional and comforting), and mani/pedi’s. All have been FABULOUS!
I couldn’t recommend them highly enough! Don’t let their location/​exterior fool you. They may just be sitting on a random corner in a little strip of shops, but walk in the door and you are in paradise!

I’m writing this review specifically about massage, although this place offers much more. My masseuse is THE BEST in the city. Her name is Cindy (I don’t even know her last name), and she rocks!
I go see her religiously once a month, and she works out absolutely every knot I have. I leave there feeling like rubber in a good way. She does have a strong hand, so if you like light massages, don’t go see her.
But it’s the best massage I’ve ever had. I even got my husband hooked on Cindy.
