Great food and great prices! Love the bi-bim-bop and yakimondu. This is one of our«must restaurants» every time we visit Kauai. Clean and simply interior. Family run– friendly. Not fancy but like I said great food!

Tiny place, but great food. If you’re looking for a mixed plate(and other options), I highly recommend this place.

Very good and reasonably priced! Had the family dinner for 4. It included a bunch of Korean staples and was very filling and delicious — definitely an excellent dinner deal and would recommended this restaurant for individuals or families looking for a good meal on Kauai.

Our family was craving some Korean food and Unilocaled this one for a try! It had some pretty good reviews so decided to try. We ended up going there twice in a week because it was so tasty! Must have– fried chicken wings(had to order more!), Kalbi(the really long piece of deliciousness attached to the bone), homemade kimchi is Ono!!! Good– grilled chicken and the Mac/potato salad, bibimpap Pass next time– they were out of the kimchi chijae so I got their spicy beef tofu soup. Kind of a weird taste since it had a little sweetness to it and doesn’t taste or look like your normal soondubu.

If you crave good Korean food this place is calling your name! We stopped in because a local recommended the joint. It didn’t disappoint. We ordered the Kalbi and it was so delicious. The kimchi was good too and homemade to boot! The service was fast and welcoming as well. They had a good menu and wish we had time for more.

Excellent food — REALLY excellent. I had noodle soup and some kimchi, my honey had a BBQ platter. We both enjoyed it. Service was friendly. Place isn’t fancy, but the food is delish.

Although not completely the traditional Korean spot, it was a nice treat to have some of my Korean favorites while in Hawaii. Conveniently located, but make sure to get there in time because they get really busy really fast. Although I wasn’t a fan of the portions. The meal had great flavor. I was also able to order a dish that gave me a variety of proteins including pork, beef, beef ribs, and chicken. There were a few tasty side dishes, however they were also lacking in portion. I wanted a little more of everything. It did end up being a little pricey.

Excellent food and very flavorful. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Reasonable prices. Parking available onsite. I would highly recommend for great prices and great food. The Unilocal reviews for me were helpful. Great for carry out.

Wow, this Korean BBQ joint came to rescue after our savage hunger after a day full of activities on the island. I am rating them 5 stars not because we were hungry, but their food was sincerely so good and fresh! The service was outstanding(only one lady) and she was very nice(not overly friendly) and very attentive. Will definitely come back!

Alway loved this place. The food has always been quality especially with their thick cut kalbi. The meat jun and fried mandoo is also great. The soups pretty awesome too. They recently hiked up their price so we haven’t gone as much as we use to. They use to serve their«oh so good» seaweed soup with every order but I noticed that they no longer do so but have it on the menu as an item to order instead. A little bummed with how expensive they’ve gotten

Best kalbi I’ve ever had. Everything is good but the kalbi. Wow marinated perfect not too sweet not too salty. Perfectly grilled. Service is pretty on point. Family owned and the pride shows.

I would never have found this place if not for Unilocal saving the day once again. Even with the map it was a little difficult to find and parking was even harder, and once I got here I assumed we had made a mistake choosing. Man was I proved wrong! The service was great, Food exceeded expectation. Great example of Korean barbecue(with a little Hawaiian twist) Overall amazing experience. Would definitely love to visit again!

My wife & I had lunch at the Korean BBQ on Saturday 2 May. We have eaten here several times before and always enjoyed our meals. I usually order the Kim Chee Soup — can’t get that many places — but opted for the Bi Bim Bap(#12 $ 8.50) instead. My wife ordered Chop Chae(#25 $ 10.50). The Bi Bim Bap was large portion and quite tasty, especially with the Kim Chee my wife did not want and the spicy sauce from the unassuming yellow plastic squeeze container. My wife had never seen Bi Bim Bap before and was a little surprised to see me cut up all the items in the bowl and mix them together. My wife enjoyed her Chop Chae and we both took home a goodly portion for dinner. I also purchased a pint container of house made Kim Chee for $ 6 to go. Check the refrigerated case next to the cash register. Friendly and prompt service and a great place to explore Korean dishes for the uninitiated and devotees.

Most authentic Korean food I’ve had since moving from Korea many years ago! I dropped in on Wednesday afternoon on the way to the fern grotto boat tour. It doesn’t look like much on either the outside or the inside but the food is amazing! If you’re not used to Korean food or looking for a new dish to try Bi Bim Bap is the best dish to try. Bi Bim Bap is a rice based dish with thinly cut and lightly cooked carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, rich mushrooms, and Korean style steak with a fried egg on top. I like mine with the egg well done because runny yolks aren’t my thing. There will be Kim Chee and red Korean hot sauce on the side. Dump it in and mix it up. Delicious! If that’s a little much for you they also have short ribs and other typical Korean/American fare. They have Katsu chicken and macaroni salad also. Their Yaki Mandu is great. Yaki Mandu is a dumpling with Korean meat and veggies in a won ton wrapper. I prefer mine fried but they offer them fried or steamed. Fast and courteous service with great prices. Most dishes are $ 7.00-$ 13.00. If you’re looking for authentic and delicious Korean food this is your place!

This place is called Korean bbq and that’s exactly what you’re going to get. They have all the usual things you’d expect from a korean barbecue place; meat jun, fish jun, kal bi, spicy pork, you get the idea. The staff is also very friendly and willing to answer any questions about portions or taste. I love kbbq, and I’ve been to a good share of korean places back home in Oahu, but I was a little caught off guard that here they only gave us a tiny sauce plate of kimchi for the 4 of us to get started. Portion wise, the mini was just enough for me. But that’s not saying much considering I’m a very small eater. And for 9.50 for a mini, it isn’t very cheap either! Overall, if you’re in the area and craving korean bbq, going to a place literally called korean bbq would probably be the best bet! But keep in mind it IS going to be kauai prices!

Very basic fare in subpar surroundings at elevated prices and an overworked waitstaff don’t really make for a memorable dining experience. I realize not every meal, especially those eaten on vacation, will be Tweet-worthy, but my expectation usually includes good food, properly prepared and presented in a pleasant environment and that just did not happen here. We had BBQ chicken, BBQ beef, and chicken Katsu, all of which were tasty, as well as small portions of Mac salad, kim Che, and seaweed soup, but none were anything special. If you need decent, slightly overpriced Korean BBQ in and exceptionally average setting, then you should be content. Maybe next time I’ll just order takeout.

Circumstance: Honeymoon — wanted Korean food badly after days of eating other cuisine in Hawaii. Food: The seaweed soup they served as a pre-meal warmup was great — soft seaweed and the soup broth was chicken and garlic-heavy. The Kalbi was well-marinated and fairly tender. Their Kimchi stew was piping hot and also delicious — it contained small cubes of tofu and small slices of dduk(rice cake) which I was more than happy to see. My wife and I said to one another, «That was a much needed meal on our trip.» Service/Staff: The owner, one of apparently very few Koreans on Kaua’i, was extremely friendly and buzzes around the restaurant working as well as she can. There was one other server who seemed to be her daughter who did a good job of refilling waters and serving patrons.

Ho hum. Searching for a compliment, I could say that their made in house kim chi is delicious. I wanted more. Literally. The plates are standard, the food pretty boring and average, the prices reasonable. I don’t think I will return, not because it’s bad. It’s okay. But I like good food and this doesn’t cut it. Specifically, the deep fried stuff was overly breaded. the kalbi was not as good as my first attempt at making it at home. After I made Kalbi about 10 times, it came out so good that people call me up and ask for the recipe. That’s what you need for a Korean BBQ restaurant. That is not what they have. Service was ok, nothing formal, it’s diner style. Atmosphere was pretty hot. We sat under the AC and still couldn’t wait to get up and go.

i don’t know why i haven’t come here sooner since i’ve been home. took my dad the other day for lunch and the service and food is soooo good. my dad ordered the combination plate and i got the bbq chicken plate. it comes with kimchee and a seaweed soup. with the plate, you get your meat as well as rice and some yummy sides like bean sprouts, mac salad, gyoza and seaweed salad. the amount of food you get for the price is excellent. the taste is great, too. if you’re in wailua and want something good for lunch or dinner, stop on by!

Hands down best Korean food. Ordered lunch here and had to take out. They do not serve soup and kimchee for take outs. Got their bi bim bap with chicken and combo(beef/chicken). Julienned carrots, cucumber, mushrooms grilled to perfection and so was bbq chicken. Very yummy. All these lie on a bed of jasmine rice topped with fried egg. The plate comes with a side of their hot sauce. Want to eat here one more time!
