Tropical Burgers & More

Ordered the teriyaki burger. It was satisfying enough. Nothing to write home about but inexpensive and filling. BYOB is a nice perk.

Never seen so many choices of burgers here. I had more than enough time to choose because I was like the 7^th person in line, and Booooy was it slow.
Hawaiians are very laid back. Most are never in any rush, so while I stood in line waiting to buy my 3 burgers just for me, my cutie pie was shopping in a trader joe market place I think. She doesnt really like burgers so she didnt care much for it.
After about 20 minutes of waiting around, I finally ordered my burgers. I had two guava rum burger since it seemed to be the favorite for the locals, then I got to try kokee blue cheese burger. Not bad at all. The beef patty was thick and lean! Not one ounce of fat in that thing. Juicy & dripping with flavor! It was worth the 30 minute wait for me. I’d go back again to try this place out. Plus, it gives your girl time to go shopping while you stand in the line in the blazing heat!

The menu is quite extensive with different types of burgers. Service was TERRIBLE. The waitress seemed angry that she had customers. Restaurant was not very busy, but waitress was harried and explained they were busy (3 – 4 tables on her side of the place). I understand that we all have bad days on occasion, but being rude to customers is not acceptable. Food (burgers and fries) arrived cold and waitress didn’t return. We ended up asking the host if we could get some mayonnaise, which we got maybe another 10 minutes later. I think if the food was served when HOT, it may have been tasty, but with service this bad, we won’t give it another chance. I should have followed my instincts and left long before ordering.

We were skeptical about this place… mostly due to the cheesy name. But we were hungry, so we went in and were pleasantly surprised.
I had the guava rum burger. It was awesome! Just like my lava flow. This was the only lava flow that I had in Kauai that actually gave me a buzz. Please note that I have VERY low tolerance to alcohol so that should give you a clue as to how little alcohol most restaurants put in their island drinks.
