Not bad if the kolaches are fresh, but there are better options in the area for your money. I agree with other Unilocalers… this place used to be much better in the past. I live nearby, so drop by on occasion. The day before Thanksgiving, I stopped in to grab a coffee and kolache before a blood donation next door. At the small coffee bar, there were two coffee thermoses, powdered creamer & sugar and a few of the mini containers of half and half. I was told both containers were the same kind of coffee. When I asked what kind of coffee was offered, the workers did not know. I believe I paid $ 1.50 for a small coffee that tasted not much better than truck stop coffee. In the past, LS had a few good gourmet choices. I ordered a spinach/cheese kolache. It was medium-sized and I could tell it was a day old. The core part of a kolache is the bread and a good kolache still tastes good the next day. The spinach and cheese filling was good, but the bread was bland. A small coffee and a kolache set me back $ 4.56 before tip, a bit more than I expected. I might have to ask what is fresh the next time I visit.

Arrived well after opening and they didn’t have their core products ready. With a bustling Kolache Factory around the corner, this is even more inexcusable. Poor customer service. Will not return.

Just terrible! Kolache Factory is much better than this place. They lost one star for terrible customer service, another for the bacon and cheese kolache that tasted like it was from yesterday, another because the place is kinda dark and not pleasant and a fourth because it was expensive. $ 9 for 2 x sausage and cheese and 1 x bacon.

They are usually out of several ingredients, the man at the counter doesn’t seem to know his prices, and when eating them it’s a bit disappointing. For example the sausage kolache is mediocre bread around a small disappointing hot dog and the other 80% of the space inside is empty. You are effectively eating bread when you go here. One item I do like is the egg and cheese croissant, but it’s very oily and too much for one person to finish. They are also more expensive than Kolache Factory and the quality just isn’t that great.

I used to love this place when I lived in Katy over 10 years ago… coming here every Saturday before going to work at Katy Mills well things have changed. The people are rude and the kolaches now have a weird smell. Too bad I used to really like the kolaches here but I will just head over to Kolache factory for my Texas-style Kolaches.

Only been here once in the last few years, but will not come back. I arrived at around 7am, From the time I walked in I was treated as an inconvenience. NOTHING had been set out behind counter for me to look at. I started to order some different Kolaches(a few of which were not offered at that time for whatever reason). I then tried to order a few regular donuts to which I was told that they hadn’t been brought out from the back yet. I told them that was fine and that I would wait. After a brief moment, the lady proclaimed that they were not selling donuts that day. I then asked for donut holes, to which they managed to bring me out some. They Kolaches were very average, and the donut holes were TERRIBLE. Donuts and donut holes are hard to mess up it seems but they managed to do so.

When I came here, it was 1050 am, and there was hardly any kolache selection left. I was looking forward to Italian Chicken or the Spinach and Cheese Kolache but there was hardly any left. There was hardly any seating and not a good coffee area :(

I came to this place after I read that their menu had«polish sausage kolaches.» Nevermind that these things cost $ 3.00 a piece, I wanted four of them. Imagine my surprise when I got home, only to find out that these«polish sausage kolaches» were merely hot dogs wrapped in bread. I was furious. False advertising? You bet. I went back and had a two minute long argument with them, where at one point the proprietor implied something racist. I’m not going to mince words. The old woman who works there(probably the owner) is rude and something of a bigot. The younger man, I’m assuming that’s her son, is absolutely useless. Bottom line: don’t waste your time or your money here.

Has this place really been open that long and I didn’t know it? We’ve been searching for Czech fruit kolaches closer to home than Weikel’s in La Grange(whose kolaches are the best!). And while theirs are then ‘best’, they’re the best we’ve got around here! Thanks for making«real» kolaches, Lone Star.

this place opens at 530 in the morning. when i saw that chickfila wasnt open this morning, i decided to try this place out. i can’t vouch for the other things they make, but their spicy chicken kolache(shredded chicken and jalapeño) is simple. not too salty, an delish. i’ll definitely be trying them again.

Today was a kolache type of day. It wasn’t planned but it ended up that way. An officemate brought in two boxes of kolaches to work and it immediately filled the office space with with baked bread and sausage goodness. Everyone was grateful for him saving us from temporary morning hunger. One box as sausage and other was sausage and cheese. They both were good, but the kolache with cheese was a great. But what really made the kolaches was the bread. It was soft, moist and chewy and had the right amount of sweetness to it which it balanced the saltiness of the sauage. The bread was the best. By the end of the day i had 4 of those bad boys. It was my breakfast lunch and afternoon snack. One kolache of a day. If there some remaining i would have had one or two before i would have went home. I wish this place was closer to where i live so i easily make a trip to the store. I saw the website and hope the rest of what they serve on the menu is as good as the kolaches then i’d be in baked goods heaven.
