The breakfast was good, filling, and relatively inexpensive. I wished that the waitress smiled a little more but then again, she did come out to the parking lot when we left our leftover bag on the table. It’s an unusual set up with 2 entrances and 2 separate and distinct dining rooms with the kitchen in between. The parking lot is small and narrow, be careful.

I’ve never had a bad meal here. If there is a dish you like, you’ll like it here. For me, there are several dishes where I think the meal at the Kenilworth diner is the best or near the top for that dish that I’ve ever had. Their menu is so extensive, it’s hard to believe such a relatively small place could make them all. Be warned — this place is very crowded at mealtime, but worth the wait.

This place is a little gem. Daily specials are great, so many good options, it’s tough to decide what to order. They do it all well, from diner basics to full meals. Clearly they care about what they are doing. It’s now our go to diner when we want some variety and good food. Oh, by the way, the deserts are awesome.

First time here and loved it! Service was great, people were very friendly and food was excellent! You have to try the Jumbo Cream Puff(with coffee of course) so delicious– and you could easily share with another.

Kenilworth Diner is a great little place to eat. I love going there for the hot turkey pita sandwiches, buffalo wings, matzoh ball soup, burgers etc. The waitresses are GREAT! So nice, helpful. just great. I’m just a little bit disappointed because I feel that after they changed owners, some of the recipes have changed. I have asked if the cheesecake recipe has changed and they claim it is the exact same recipe and state that it was a very expensive recipe to buy. It may be the same recipe but it doesn’t taste the same or have the same texture and is less creamy. The pumpkin cheesecake no longer is all mixed together, it now has a layer of pumpkin pie filling in the bottom and a layer of plain cheesecake on top. The pumpkin filling layer was entirely too«spicey,» I don’t know if it was clove, nutmeg, or something but it was entirely too over powering. The honey mustard had changed too. Was so upset. But overall it’s a pretty good diner!

Food was great and fast. The price was economical and service was great. Tight little space though but well worth while. This diner is very family friendly. Hope to come again.

Recently, I was set back $ 24 for 3 slices of cheesecake at a very well-known chain known for such(hint hint). ANDTHEYREPREVIOUSLYFROZEN(source: Preferred Freezer Services, one of the largest freezer warehouses in the nation). When I saw a rave review for the Kenilworth Diner’s cheesecake in the local paper, I decided to check it out. Verdict: Kenilworth by a mile. 1. Fresh, not thawed 2. Larger portion. 3. About ½ the price. Support local business and win!

I don’t go to diners for seafood, steaks, meatloaf, triple decker sandwiches or mile high pies. For me, there is only one meal to be had-Lox and onion omelette, well done home fries and rye toast with a good cup of coffee. I’ve had this very same meal at dozens of diners throughout New Jersey. From the horrifically bad to mighty fine. I really liked this place. From the friendly service to the delicious food we were served. If possible, sit in the diner portion of the restaurant. The dining room, seeminly without windows, is a tad claustrophobic. My meal was just great here. Good portions. No reason to complain. Hope to stop in again soon.

Me and my business partners stopped here for breakfast after we drive from Brooklyn to look at some real estate. Great service! Incredible food! I got the short stack with eggs and sausage. It was delicious! Highly suggest it.

Rating des Ortes: 5 Cranford, NJ
I met a friend for breakfast this morning and had a really good experience. I even noticed some Cranford people in the diner which makes me believe they aren’t pleased with the Cranford options either. I had the blueberry pancakes with a fruit salad as a side and a cup of coffee. The pancakes were big and filled with fresh blueberries. The fruit salad was a good size and it was filled with all fresh fruit. No canned stuff. The coffee was hot and tasty. Not dirty water and weak. I was impressed with the service. Very good and firiendly. I’ve been to many diners in NJ but this was different than the others. I got the sense they cared.

I used to like this place. I heard the owners change, the service has changed. I ordered spaghetti, they told me they only had linguini and the waitress says«it’s the same thing» bad food. bad sauce, the noodles were rushed. I won’t go here anymore. doesn’t really suit the neighborhood. should be a lot cleaner too.

Good portions for the price. Two people got coffee and breakfast and the bill was $ 20 and we didn’t finish all our food. The only downfall is their water cups are almost hilariously small. As a person who likes to drink water with the meal, it was disappointing.

This diner is an small and old fashion. Getting out of the parking lot is an issue for me. It’s not ‘U’ shaped. I came here with my coworkers and got breakfast for lunch. My french toast were like any other french toast anywhere else. We sat in the back room on a wooden booth. It’s another example of old smaller people were a few generations ago or how fat I am. The servers are really nice. I’m sure i’d be back if i want breakfast for lunch.

On my way to another event, I passed by the Kenilworth Diner Restaurant and its newly renovated front end caught my eye. When my girlfriend and I needed a quick bite to eat, we decided this would be a neat spot to try. Parking in their easily accessible lot, we went in and were greeted by a friendly staff that let us pick out whichever booth we wanted in the front area. We peeked at the back area, which is really nice, but wanted to bask in some sunlight flooding in the front. The front also has a counter with a row of seats. It’s very traditional looking but with modern touches including its bright color scheme and an LCD television playing sports channels and news. Our waitress was with us very shortly after we sat down. She took our orders and delivered the food promptly. The weird part is, after that she pretty much disappeared and didn’t check on us again until we were done eating. I’m not sure if she wanted to leave us alone to enjoy our food or if she got busy elsewhere, but among the food I had was a cup of coffee, and it’s customary in most diners for the waitress to ask if you want a refill at least once, but nope, she never came by. I ordered a turkey burger which was servicable. I slapped some cole slaw on it to give it a bit more flavor, but it wasn’t memorable in any way. My girlfriend had their version of a chicken Gyro, which was also«good» but not great by any means. I also ordered an egg cream. That was fun and tasty, but for the most part it’s just a soda with some added syrup, again, nothing to write home about. I did note with amusement that they have *gigantic* sized cream puffs but that really wasn’t enough to make me feel like I have to come back any time soon. This diner barely scrapes by in getting 3 stars from me. In fact, I would say were it not for the wonderfully done décor and renovations, this would be a solid two stars without a question. This is more of a «2.5 stars» place for sure.
