This place is ok when it comes to Mexican food. Personally, I place it above El Rinconsito, but below Asadero Sinaloa. I’ve had Lengua and Carne Asada street tacos through the drive-thru, which was convenient. I do recommend the Mulitas! Choice of meat, generous amount of cheese, pico and avocado between two mini corn tortillas… at $ 2 each they’re a great value. The price point is decent-towards-higher end of reasonable for this type of cuisine. The good thing is, when you ask for a lot of hot sauce, they actually give it to you! I’m sure to return to scope out additional items!

Recently went back here to grab carne asada fries and they have changed ownership and recipe for their fries. First they tried to use steak fries which is no bueno, then they started putting jalapeño peppers and refried beans on the fries. Was not too happy with the change and have since stopped going there. Will have to drive to Tacoma and go to Memo’s since that’s the only other place that’s close to the Carne Asada fries in San Diego.

This place is on point! By far the best Mexican food I’ve found in the area(and trust me I’ve looked!) everything I’ve tried has been amazing!

This my favorite Mexican joint, they have the most delicious tacos! I love the tortas as well, they have different kinds of meat for them. Gorditas and sopes are super filling and they are super tasty! Next time I will try the pollo asado because I heard it was great as well. They also carry Jarritos and the popular«Aguas Frescas». They should have their liquor license soon that way I can grab a beer with my food next time. Drive thru is a breeze if you’re in a hurry call ahead and pick up!

Absolutely delicious. This is our new go-to Mexican spot. It’s super convenient(drive-thru!), affoedable, and the most authentic food I’ve found in the area. I’ve had their birria, burritos, huevos rancheros, ceviche, and their her character — absolutely zero complaints! Definitely check this out if you want some good, REALLY Mexican food. **Just as a heads up the drive-thru isn’t fast. This isn’t fast food! Once they take your order, you’ll chill at the window while they make your food fresh. Worth the wait!**

New name, new employees. Great fast quick food. The chips and salsa were hot from the fryer. The salsa was a little too spicy hot for me. My husband loved it tho. We came in a few nights earlier and the gal remembered what we ordered and asked if I wanted a cup for water. Nice touch.

Today we have just been informed of the change in ownership! I noticed there was a whole new menu. It was the same server as before– she did mention it has been changed for over 2 months now. We decided to get the carne asada tacos and a macho burrito. Nothing extraordinary. I do want to mention it was better prior to the change in ownership. The tacos lacked flavor. It was good but definitely not as good as before. $ 20 for 5 mini carne asada tacos, a macho burrito, a side of rice & beans, and a Jarritos Mango Soda(my fav). This includes the $ 1 fee they charge when you use a debit/credit card. Cheap meal for two.

The food here is incredible! We had the carne asada torta, a California burrito, and the machaca plate to split among 3 of us. Although there is a drive-thru at this location, the torta and machaca are sit down foods. No sense is having soggy buns. The California burrito(not listed on the menu) is reminiscent of the Oregon burrito from Muchas Gracias(Portland area), but SO much better! I think we’ve found our new go-to Mexican favorite! The prices are reasonable(read cheap), and the portions are generous. The interior of the restaurant is nothing to look at, so focus on the delightful food.

Must eat the California burrito, they use the crinkle cut cafeteria fries, it’s almost like having potatoes like at memos but better. the carne asada is well flavored am goes well with the. It’s 6 dollars for one burrito well worth it.

Great little place! Being a transplant from Los Angeles, I have been disappointed with most of what passes for Mexican food(not cuisine) up here. This place reminds me so much of my favorite back in LA. Just happened to run across it while in the neighborhood. When we pulled up, at first we weren’t sure the place was even open. The dining room was completely empty. Initially somewhat disturbing as all the best places«back home» are never empty! They have a drive-through which might account for the lack of folks in the dining room, so venture forth! The place is clean, and the dining room is rather dull; Utilitarian at best, but remember, this is a place for food, not cuisine. At first glance, I thought the prices were on the higher end of reasonable compared to what I’m used to, nothing to get excited about. We ordered two burritos: one carne asada, and one carnitas, as well as a carne asada torta«con todos, por favor.» The lady who took our order couldn’t have been more warm or welcoming, and I feel badly I don’t remember her name. She said their food was pretty authentic, and«being from Orange County, [she] would know.» We got our order to go, and on the way out saw the ‘relish” trays: radish wedges, lime sections, and marinated carrots & chilies to go. It’s a little tough to see, but DON’T pass this up. BEST carrots I’ve had in a very, very long time. These are not pickled like so many others are, though there is a hint of acidity in the marinade. The ratio of chilies to carrots suits a palate which likes a bit of piquant, added jalapeño flavor which is not overpowering. It’s spicy, but«just right.» The Torta was AMAZING! Hands down the best tasting carne asada I’ve had since leaving L.A. This steak was clearly freshly prepared and was packed with flavor. The torta roll was perfectly toasted just to a char, and the«dressings» blended together so perfectly, I, well, I loved it. My partner had the carnitas burrito which he simply plotzed over. «Better,» he says, «than lots of places in L.A.» High praise indeed from this finicky fan of carnitas. Moist, tender, flavorful were how he described it. Now, he doesn’t have a big appetite, my partner in crime, and being extremely thrifty, insist on wrapping up the leftover burrito to sit in the fridge to grow whatever yuck it is that grows after some weeks… But I digress… He never ends up eating the leftover he committed to, but tonight he heated it up in the microwave & enjoyed it even a little more than before sitting in the fridge for a while. The bite I had was awesome! I seriously can’t wait to go back here to make my way through the menu! BTW, they serve birria, which requires a lot of finesse actually, to get right. I’m generally not a fan, but I know those who are, are as eager to find a good supply, as I am for Mexican food in general. Based on what we had today, my guess is they know what they are doing.
