Never been here before but was in town for an hour and was recommended to go here for lunch. I had the pulled pork sandwich. My dad has quesadilla, and my mom had chicken tenders with sweet potato steak fries. Food tasted amazing, inexpensive too, waitstaff were friendly and welcoming. Solid job. Can’t go wrong with a diner. :)

Never had a problem with this place. From breakfast to late night dinner. Food always taste great. My basic choice selections: Breakfast — two eggs over easy with corn beef hash with white toast dry. Lunch/Dinner — Buffalo Chicken Wrap with french fries. Servers are always friendly and helpful, no matter who it is and what time of day.

Good size portions and always fresh. Always a clean environment and the staff is always well dressed. I do believe they have daily specials and lunch specials. They deliver as well witch is a plus for a diner. KVD is one of those places that’s always a good go to when you don’t know what you’re in the mood for or if you want something that’s quality but quick.

Diner food Did not want to write a review I wanted to contact the business So this review is based on 1 delivery I want to tell the proprietors that the pastrami absolutely sucked. It was so tough my dog had a hard time chewing it. Yet you are not alone. Many establishments think it’s ok to serve pastrami and corned beef this way. It’s not cool to be the person who takes a bite of this flavorless slab of shoe leather. One bite. No thanks. Fries were diner fries. Coconut shrimp were not overcooked as most places do. Grilled vegetables were well grilled vegetables. Does not mean I will not order again. It’s a diner. Maybe I’ll try the buttered toast next time. Friendly clean delivery guy. And prompt. Thanks man. Oh and one of the sauces with the shrimp was err gross. Not the Thai chili the sweet brown nasty one. Prices are reasonable as well.

Decent diner. This would probably be a 2.5 review if given the option. Last night I had the chicken souvlaki with a greek salad… and it was OK. The salad was good — everything was very fresh and there was a ton of feta cheese… which I love. Be warned… if you don’t like anchovies… they include ‘em.(I happen to enjoy those fuzzy little nasty fishies from time to time…). The chicken in the souvlaki was pretty good — not over spiced like some places. Had some chicken noodle soup… it didn’t knock my socks off. Just so so. My colleagues had a burger, steak sandwich and a greek salad with grilled chicken — everyone enjoyed what they had. Fries are good. The main issues were: –when we needed the check our waiter was MIA. We sat for an excessively long time waiting for the check. –the bathroom was nasty –speaking of the bathroom… no soap in the dispenser. yuck yuck yuck… this is the second time this week that I couldn’t wash my hands to the OCD extent that I needed to. Still…it’s a diner with an extensive menu… lots of choices and a long history in Kingston.

The Greek chicken wrap I ordered fell apart and needed to be eaten with a fork and knife, which I believe defeats the purpose of a wrap. As far as taste goes, it was good, but not great. Ive eaten here a few times before… Kept telling myself maybe they were having an off night, but I’ve come to the conclusion after my fourth time eating here that the food here is mediocre at best. I don’t feel as though they care about the quality of food they make. Just pushing plates to make a buck. The service was friendly and the owner is nice. I feel bad because they are a nice family owned business, but you guys need to step up your game.

I am visiting from NJ where you find a diner every ¼ mile, so I’m comparing to stiff competition. I can say that Kings Valley is pretty darn good. I had a soup, and gyro with fries. The soup was tasty, and the gyro was presented well and tasted well. The vegetables were good quality, so the gyro followed. My waitress was attentive, and it appears the others are as well. So for a diner far away from home, this gets a thumbs up.

Been there for breakfast and lunch only. But I just had one of the best burgers in a while. Had the Hollywood burger with sauteed peppers and onions. Excellent. Very friendly wait staff. Try it out.

The Hudson Valley is Big on Diners. This place is one of my favorites. Their menu is large, but not so big that you question how long the more obscure items have been sitting around. The quality is good, one of our favorite dishes was the chicken cordon blu. Giant potions, I almost always had a «Diner part 2» left over for later. The breakfast is solid as well. While the place is a diner, it is not cheesy or sticky like some diners can be, it’s a tasteful interior and is fairly large. My only real complaint is the service, it is really hit or miss, and capacity isn’t always the problem. Seating can be an issue too, they never seem to have a dedicated host and they don’t take names when there are a few people waiting so that gets confusing quickly. If you don’t have time for the gamble of the server being prompt, get take out, but either way definitely try it!

Don’t do it! Use to be great, up until about 6 months ago I went there so much and ordered delivery so much they new me by name. Customer service and food quality is on a def down turn. There are plenty of better diners with better food and where you don’t have to wait 20 mins for a cup of coffee during their slow shift.

Bf and I have become fans of this place. Breakfast is huge and very tasty. For quick filling dinner or lunch try the chili bread bowl. That being said I am not a fan of the corned beef hash as it has a odd taste to it. Thinking it could be a beer added, I don’t care for beer so not my fave. The chicken fingers are the standard found everywhere. The staff are friendly and the guy serving breakfast to us was above and beyond. The salad with chicken is huge, think two hefty meals. The loaded nachos was served at a nearby table and left two men a girl taking leftovers home, yep that big. The desserts leave much to desire sad to say. The hot opens are standard but yummy. Great little diner.

This used to be our go to dinner but have not been there in a long time. Went there for dinner last night. There was nothing that was not right off the Ginsberg truck. Very disappointing. The service was friendly and attentive, but the food was less then remembered. I had the crab cakes wrap — it was a pile of mush with lettuce in a wrap. The husband had the burger that was a frozen patty. I know its a dinner, but with so much competition in Kingston, you would expect alot better.

My husband and I went there a few times when we lived in the area. His brother is a huge fan of this diner. Service was always very pleasant and the food is your average diner food. It’s not one of my personal favorites, but they do seem to have a loyal following of locals.

This is a great diner, reliable for friendly staff, a clean environment, and good, inexpensive food. I’ve visited KVD several times and usually order an omlete of some variety, all of which have been delicious. My recent win was the ‘veggie omlete’ plus chicken and feta: outstanding! My boyfriend loves the ‘crab eggs benedict’. Their homefries are very good, their bacon is very good(which I specify to be cooked well-done!), and I love their cappuccinos. Upon leaving KVD, I am always pleased, happy, and full.

Attention bleu cheese fans: If you want a giant salad heavy with an absurd amount of crumbled bleu cheese, get the NY Cobb Salad. Oh if there is even the slightest chance that this pronouncement could be taken as some kinda complaint; no, no it is not a gripe. I love the stuff. There was so much piled on there though — had to be somewheres in the neighborhood of half a cup– that it made me wish that I was one of these ol’ broads who’d squirrel some extree away for later in her pocketbook. You know, the kind of dame who calls her bag, «a pocketbook,» for one thing, and also one who wraps up dinner rolls in napkins and makes off with all the pats of butter that she can grab, in addition to all the free diner jellies, etc. Of course I could’ve takeh leftovers in a styrofoam to-go container, like a person, but we were on the road… and in this heat… OK, so I thought about it. Anyway, the humongous NY Cobb Salad was split between the two of us, and I tells you, I’d get it again despite the somewhat lackluster vinaigrette. Did I mention that there was a ton of good bleu cheese up on them greens? Yes? It trumps weak dressing, as did the generous amounts of grilled chicken, bacon, and grape tomatoes, up on that baby spinach. We also split a fairly decent, not too dry turkey club(cause there’s nothing like overdoin it on the bacon, right? It was a double bacon Wednesday). One thing, another compliment, KVD, which I just realize are the same initials as my very own as I type now, is that you cook your bacon perfectly. Thanks cause rubbery gnarl bacon is a shame for the Lord. Wednesday at 11PM did not seem to see much shakin’ in the area, as far as I found through my brief investigations into some late night eatin. This clean and spacious diner was open til midnight and for that reason it was just what we were looking for. We received fast and friendly service, and a veritable jackpot of bleu cheese was bonus.
