What a joke. Just moved to Kirkland, thought I’d check them out. The«lady» at the front desk didn’t smile or say hi and already looked irritated. She took out a couple pieces of my clothing and said that it would cost about $ 200. She didn’t even go through the rest of my clothing. I asked why she wasn’t going through everything, separating pants from blouses, etc. She repeated that it would be $ 200 or more. Wow. I took my clothes back and told her I’d find another dry cleaner. She shrugged and didn’t say anything else. Great customer service Bakker’s. I found a MUCH better shop in Kenmore across from the bowling lanes. Try there. They regularly say«Hello» and even say have a nice day :-)

Very friendly workers. Great customer service. But the cleaning isn’t done on-site. There are problems at the plant. They lost my shirt. They pressed pleats into my corduroy pants(who does that?), I asked for repairs and they were tagged but on-pick up repairs not done. Sometimes it smells like shirts haven’t actually been cleaned, just pressed. They hang garments on the hangers backwards. And let’s talk about this preferred customer scam. Their prices are super high, but then they give you an automatic 40% «preferred customer» discount. Then one day I got a 50% off coupon, but it was off the original price, so it was really only 10% off. Who do they think they’re fooling with this stupid game? Repairs, when done, are actually very good. Parking is tight and idiots block the lot and take up two spots all the time. I really wanted to like them, but they just are not getting the job done.

Bakker’s has lost it’s zest for customer service. Years ago I used the Bellevue and Woodinville locations both of which met expectations. Recently I was using the Houghton/Kirkland location and found staff to have little concern for customer issues. Bottom line is they are the most expensive around and given the low level of service at this location I suggest you find a cheaper and more customer focused alternative.

I have been a customer of Bakker’s Seattle location for over 5 years and never had an issue. They remember me as a customer and are very reasonable in pricing, and always tell me upfront if something is not going to work. Now I go to the Kirkland location-they are sweet and do a great job!

I had a great experience at this dry cleaner. The lady who helped me was very friendly and professional. And after our first visit, we got a handwritten thank you in the mail with a coupon for our next service.

I have now been here a few times and feel that I can confidently say — the customer service here is mediocre at best. The first time I came in, I thought maybe the lady was just having a bad day — she didn’t appear to even attempt a smile, everything about her seemed as though she were angry — not raging angry but a deep angry that you just don’t mess with. Since then, she has been a bit more friendly; not much but at least not completely without emotion. The cleaning itself is good. I wonder how much of the cleaning they do themselves because, unlike the more careful(on location) cleaners, never has a loose button or wearing seam been pointed out. I suppose as long as the cleaning passes with a 4/5, I can deal with that.

So far have gone there once and am very pleased with the service. Their prices are great(~$ 2 for a dress shirt) and make sure to ask for the preferred customer discount to get 40% off of one piece of clothing(this is really nice if you have to dry clean a more expensive sweater or dress pants which is around $ 10 with out the discount).

So far, they have done a good job and their prices are excellent. I’ll let you know if anything happens to change that opinion. For now, they are my cleaner of choice for Kirkland.

Let’s just say that when it comes to drycleaning, I’m really picky. I suffer from the affliction of having drycleaning genes in my lineage. I even have to admit that the smell of drycleaning solvent is a comforting reminder of my younger years. Ok. So I guess what I’m saying is that Bakker’s does an good job with those items I’m either too lazy to iron myself(yes, I know how to iron) or just won’t throw in the washing machine for fear of having some really bad looking results. Make sure you ask to be a preferred customer. That will get you 40% off your drycleaning. My only complaint against Bakker’s is that they do most of their cleaning off site. That means you won’t get your stuff back for a few days, but then again, nobody wants to see you wear that Cosby sweater twice in one week.
