The sandwiches here are very tasty but the prices are higher for the size. They pride themselves on local and organic food so I understand but sometimes, a sandwich is a sandwich. I ordered the chicken pesto and the chicken cranberry pecan. Of the two, I liked the chicken cranberry because the one with pesto was quite oily due to the agile and pesto mix. Therefore, the spinach leaves were soaked in olive oil and masked all the other flavours. On the other hand, the chicken salad-esque one was great! It was still very flavourful but in a lighter way that made the combo very tasty. Also, they only had half whole wheat loaf at 3PM which was disappointing. Overall, a good try but too expensive and not unique enough for a second visit.

Homegrown Kirkland probably has the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant, its very low class and dirty. I know many friends that have found HAIR in their food. There is one man who has long greasy hair, he’s always in there when i am, he treats all of the customers terribly. Homegrown is so overpriced and honestly I could get a better sandwich at Jimmy Johns for half the price. This restaurant doesn’t even deserve one star, if you’re thinking about going there, i would think twice unless you want hair in your sandwich.

I have been back to HG several times after I received a couple cards in the mail to come back in to eat. I still love coming to the location in Kirkland and the sandwiches have been delicious! Thank you for sending me the cards, it was much appreciated! :)

This was our first time to Home Grown. My daughters loved their sandwiches. Mine, on the other hand was just okay. The bread was a bit burnt which kind of ruined the taste of the sandwich. The total for two kids and one adult was $ 31. A little pricy.

They do not skimp on fresh foods, which explains the price point. BLT sandwich had so much spinach and sweet tomatoes with thick cut bacon, it was delicious. Even my husband liked it and he is not into eating those veggies/fruit in excess. The tomato soup was tomatoey, so still had that sweet tomato flavor, but would stay away if you have any stomach acidity problems.

Love this place. I usually get the chicken pesto on gluten free but everything I’ve tried is good. Also the tomato bisque. It’s definitely pricier than some other options but there are many quick sandwich shops to stop in at in downtown Kirkland. Maybe don’t go every day but it’s a nice treat!

Tasty sandwich but the gluten free bread needs work; it doesn’t hold up as you see in my second photo. Maybe if they toasted the bread it would help? It is good though, and I can imagine how tasty it is for those without gluten issues. I’ll be back; I just know it’s not a sandwich for on the go. A fork is required!

Good sandwich overall minus the undercooked bacon and the nasty un-cleaned bathrooms. When we walked in, nobody was there. So with that being said, I’d at least hope with their free slow time they would use it well to prep, clean and such. Overall, sandwich was good, but has been better from here before and the bathrooms need scrubbing!

Their food is great especially their sandwiches with avocado and eggs but their prices are a bit absurd for what you get. Look on their menu they have $ 9.50 kids PB&J, seriously? What the heck are you putting on that PB&J to make it $ 10?! Just a bit overboard in my opinion…

Whether you are gluten-free or not, Homegrown has the best sandwiches for those of us who care about quality food. My favorite time to come is before 9AM for breakfast. There is also wifi here and a great view of the main strip in Kirkland. Great for people watching or just zoning out. And the key thing about Homegrown, the food is seasoned properly. Thank you for the best gluten-free sandwiches I’ve had in the metro area.

Just stopped by for brunch. Got the chicken pesto sandwich and I’m impressed. The chicken is moist and flavorful and the pesto is good. I hadn’t eaten a sandwich this good in a long time. Thoughts: from the outside looking in you can tell this place is going to be good. The place is clean and the service is friendly and fast. I asked for a recommendation and was very pleased with the result. A side note, these are tables but this is not a sit down establishment. You order at the counter so if your looking for a sit down type of place look elsewhere. For what they do they do it extremely well. You get what you pay for and In this case maybe a little more. 5 Stars is well justified

Just came here with a friend for lunch. The sandwich was delicious! Mine was a gluten-free turkey bacon avocado, with a side salad that had cucumbers and pumpkin seeds, and only tasted ok(needs flavor, salt!). I love that they use non-GMO canola oil in their aoli’s instead of soy oil. I can’t wait to try their other sandwiches. Their gluten-free bread was light and fluffy and was some of the best I’ve ever had. Star docked because of: the sandwich lacked enough bacon(should have been CRISPY) AND could have had at least another slice of turkey. Also, we got our sandwhiches almost immediately, but had to wait for our salads and go ask for them, and I believe the staff was confused because they ended up bringing us a full order 20 minutes later after we had already gotten our sandwiches. We ended up just taking the salads since we already got our sandwiches, and the server looked quite confused, and I have no idea how the mix up happened. Also the first sandwich they tried to give me had french bread, despite my lively conversation I had about gluten-free bread with the person we paid with. So there was some mis-communication afoot. But we were fed, so no actual harm done :)

Came here for breakfast. Love the location and atmosphere. The place feels much bigger than the Redmond location but I’m thinking it’s just because the Redmond location is narrow. The table layout feels better here and there is even a larger table for bigger groups. I had their breakfast sandwich on french bread and it was solid. In Redmond I tried their caprese sandwich which was equally tasty. Coffee was good as well. The only reason it’s a four star instead of five is because their prices are a little high. You have to fork up almost $ 5 for a half sandwich. If you get a full sandwich plus coffee, it will run you around $ 15-$ 18 dollars which is pricey. I guess it’s the price you pay for getting better ingredients. Overall I would recommend it.

I really like their sandwiches, so I’m very happy they decided to open a downtown Kirkland location. I guess other people are also happy… they sometimes get PACKED. At least twice I ended up grabbing food elsewhere because their line was long and I didn’t want to wait. The only somewhat bad item I’ve had here is the soup(options frequently change). They had some kind of mushroom soup that day and it was… not delicious.

Went here today for the first time. We got the chicken pesto sandwich which was so good! The atmosphere is also very welcoming and the location is great. We also got the vegetarian chili which in my opinion was just okay but I would definitely come back for the chicken pesto sandwich. The prices are also very reasonable.

I have only been here once, so the review is a tad tentative, but my chicken with pesto sandwich on whole grain was excellent, and it’s nice with what appears to be a hard-core organic and high quality sandwich place. They could aspire for five stars but prices are at the high end(hey it’s downtown Kirkland), and the space is not as homey as one could wish for. Let’s see if I think differently after a couple more visits. Tip: boxed water.

Meandering my way to a date, early as usual, my stomach begins to grumble and the last thing I want to do is meet someone new while hangry. I’ve walked past here numerous times and today was the day to visit! Right away I can tell I’m going to love whatever I order just by browsing over the menu. Very inviting, easy to read and so many delicious options to choose from. Food: I ordered half a Caprese Sandwich with gluten free bread and it was just enough to satisfy me. The ingredients were all portioned perfectly and the bread held together nicely. Yum yum yum, I would definitely order this again. But what really stood out to me was the service I received from the cashier. He made sure to ask: «is this a preference or allergy?» when I replied that I wanted gluten free bread, he remembered my name when thanking me and was completely professional and friendly. My sandwich was finished in a matter of minutes and left me with ample time to savor while sitting near the marina. Kirkland is making some really great choices when it comes to their restaurants; I’m thrilled they brought this here.

This sandwich shop is so nice and it is in a great location right near the water! The staff were very friendly. I ordered an egg and bacon breakfast sandwich and an iced vanilla latte. The sandwich was delicious! I only got half, but I was wishing I got a whole one. Their potato chips were a good side also. The latte was a little on the non sweet side, but they had cream and sugar so I added a little. Overall, I enjoyed this sandwich shop a lot!

Yum! I stopped by here for a bite. The place is bright and spacious, and their sustainability ethic shows in the stuff on the walls. Customer service was friendly and helpful. You can pick a full or half sandwich depending on how hungry you are, although I got the half sandwich and that was plenty big. I got the avocado, egg and cheese sandwich and that was super tasty, and they’ll bring it out to you as well. My sandwich was half what looked like smashed avocado, and half sliced. Or maybe it was supposed to be sliced and half got squashed or something. It was tasty either way, but a bit odd as I was going through the sandwich. I’d prefer a bit less hot sauce on the sandwich next time but overall it was a great meal and I’d be happy to come back to check out what else there is on the menu. The indoor/outdoor fireplace is a nice touch.

I have a client nearby so I eat around here pretty much all the time. I have tried literally every place now and now this new place opened =) I had to try it. I ordered 2 half sandwiches — Chicken Pesto and Roast Pork. Both on french toast. Both were delicious. I personally enjoyed Roast Pork more. The bread was nice, crispy, and starchy and«homemade» potato chips were great too. One thing — I think the price is pretty expensive for what you get. I also grabbed one of those Stumptown coldbrew… so my my lunch total came to like 17 or 18 dollars before tax and tips. Pricey but good tasting sandwiches and according to what they claim, all ingredients are USDA certified organic(which is awesome and it better be at the price they’re charging!!!)
