Acropolis Hair Studio

In a word, WOW. I drive past this salon every day on my way home from work and have had a few friends recommend it so on a whim I stopped in yesterday for a cut. The salon is gorgeous — small but very chic, soothing colors, lovely fixtures… I could go on and on. I was greeted by a very sweet woman who I found out later is the owner. She didn’t have anything available at the moment, and no appointments when I was available, so I took a card and left. While sitting in my car she came running out and said that her stylist just finished a ‘do and could take me immediately. Yay! I went back inside and met Amy, the stylist. Seems that there are only two of them, so they are busy a lot. Amy and I got to chatting immediately, discovering we have friends in common. She does a great consult, showing me pictures of what she felt I was describing so we were both on the same page. She gently washed my hair, then set to cutting. It came out perfect, exactly what I wanted. Plus, as a new client I got a discount. I walked out feeling like a million bucks for less than what most chop shops cost even at full price. If you want to look amazing, call ahead for an appointment. Just don’t hog up all the spots, I’ll need a trim in about three weeks :-)

When I moved to Knoxville a couple of years ago, I did not know where I should go get my hair cut. Acropolis was doing this promotional deal at the time and I decided to give it a shot. Since then, Amy is the only hair dresser I’ll go to in Knoxville. Atmosphere is very comfortable, love the music, and the staff actually cares about how you’re doing. I trust Amy to cut and color my hair however she wants — I know she’ll make me look good!

I have had wonderful experiences at this hair salon, and have had cut, color, extensions, & eyebrow wax services that always look amazing. I have recommended them to friends and family and everyone leaves happy. They always play great music, have a welcoming staff, and great décor. My 7 year old little boy even loves his hair cuts and he is very picky. I am impressed that they are up to date on all the latest trends in hair styles and are not afraid to add some crazy colors and cuts to the mix. My teenage step daughter walked out with some amazing funky hair styles, that made all the kids in her class envious.

Receptionist left before my appointment was over, leaving only the 1 hairstylist remaining in the salon alone.
Either the salon isn’t busy enough, or they can’t get busy enough– who answers the phone to take appointments when the only person there is busy cutting/​styling hair?
Saturdays should be one of the busiest days in hair salons.
Be that as it may – I was happy with the results of my partial highlights/​lowlights.
I was impressed with the price– $ 60– and the time it took to do my hair– about 1 hour 15 minutes total.
The salon is very pretty & the bathroom is spotless.
My cutting chair, however, had a lot of leftover hair on and in between that should have been removed prior to my sitting in it.
