We went off the highway to stop by this place for lunch, based on great reviews I saw on Unilocal. After finishing my non-inspiring lunch here, I have to say that the reviews I decided to rely on are not reliable. The location is quite depressing, the sandwich was not tasty, tomato soup was very salty. I ate most of my food only because I was hungry and we had a long drive ahead. My boyfriend couldn’t even finish his sandwich, it was so uninspiring. The people who work here seemed very nice and friendly, but that’s the only positive thing I can say. In general, I would say you can have some food here, if you are starving and there are no other options left. I don’t like to leave overly critical reviews, but I feel frustrated that Unilocal did not present the real picture. First time reviews let me down like that, so I feel obligated to leave my honest feedback.

I always eat here when I am in town. The Mushroom soup is amazing and they always accommodate for my ‘specific’ tastes. Crostini with some cheese is a perfect snack!

I eat here at least thread times a week. they have great sammiches, magical soups, sweet staff. One hambright club will feed me lunch for two days. Good Golly tamales every Tuesday :))) A great addition to the neighborhood.

Enjoyed the food here on each visit. Tamales and sandwiches are great. Have always eaten off the daily special list…

Delightful food. I had a savory corn pudding. It had a nice firm texture with pepper, onion, herbs, and spices and was on a bed of lettuce, then it also came with a salad. I saved the salad for later since I was too full to begin it. The salad was awesome though. Very fresh with a uniquely awesome tangy and sweet hazelnut dressing. Very nice service. While no it isn’t as cheap as say McDonald’s for lunch(mine was all together 10) you get what you pay for in the food. I don’t want trash thrown together like you get with fast food. I got what I wanted, which was a quickly made thoughtfully created lunch that tasted delicious.

Gave this place a try today and didn’t regret it. Fun environment and incredible sandwiches– we highly recommend the Ricky Ricardo and Hambright Club. Will definitely be back!

I tried this place two days in a row. The first try was bad, but I decided to give it another shot. The 2nd day was worse. The sandwich I had was almost worth $ 2, but instead it cost 4 times that amount. I couldn’t finish it. I threw it away. It’s just not good food. It’d be fine if it were a gas station, but it’s a restaurant. Skip it

A small rotating menu, casual atmosphere, awesome food. I had quiche with a side of soup, and every bit of it was delightful. Will definitely be back!

I’m glad this restaurant is here, though it is overpriced and the service is s-l-o-w

Just outside of downtown, Holly’s is one of those places you need to know about. The atmosphere is casual and almost always bustling. The menu is traditional with a creative twist. I always order the sandwiches because I love the soft bread that they use. I also substitute my side out for a traditional(which is far more dressed up than traditional) side salad just so I can have the hazelnut vinaigrette. It is on the pricey side for lunch, but they do use biodegradable plastic ware and plates. Holly’s spin on a Cuban, the Ricky Ricardo, never disappoints.

This restaurant is right on the edge of the Happy Holler district on N. Central. The ambiance is perfect for the location– I’d call it casual hipster. You place your order and pay at the counter just inside of the front door, then seat yourself anywhere you’d like. You get your own beverage, but they do deliver your meal to your table. Food is served on high quality biodegradable disposable plates. They have a modest but interesting menu and also daily specials. I have had the tamales, which were super, and quiche, which was probably the best I have ever had anywhere. This is a great place to go when you want to have a relaxing meal. I’ll be back again, hopefully many times.

My mom and I had lunch here last week and had an excellent experience. Plenty of vegetarian options(not a common find here in K-town), really friendly staff, an inventive daily special board and just an all-around great atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the old New Yorkers hanging on the walls. This is a perfect addition to the Glowing Body/Magpie’s loveliness on Central Avenue, not too far from the Old City and downtown. We’re going back again today for lunch!

I liked eating here and I really liked my food. Nice big open casual restaurant with tons of windows. You walk up to the counter and order. They have a printed menu and a blackboard with their specials. They have a variety of things on their menu, soups, sandwiches and salads. I actually got one of the Good Golly Tamales(they are amazing if you haven’t tried one yet. Amazing!). It came with a side of soup so my black bean tamale was perfectly paired with the curried chickpea soup. It also came with a small serving of salad. It was all equally delicious. It cost $ 8.50 for the plate and it was rather filling. Service was also super friendly. I will be visiting again soon.
