I had the Cajun chicken pizza and my girlfriend had the key lime barbecue wings. Both were delicious. We were a little disappointed with the blue cheese dressing, it was thin and didn’t have a ton of flavor. We ordered the dip trio for a appetizer and should have just gotten a whole order of the spinach and goat cheese dip, it was amazing. The crab dip was not what we were expecting, I can’t recommend it. Ask for extra pita parts right off the bat, it’s an extra $ 2 but you’ll get enough to use up all the dip. Great selection of beers and friendly service rounded out this pretty good experience on a Tennessee Saturday night.

I love it here, creative cuisine, fair prices, nice servers. Always get a parking spot in front. I go there weekly.

Warm, inviting atmosphere, with a focus on bar food. My dining partner and I started our meal with the spinach and goat cheese dip; creamy and satisfying! We then shared the Cajun pizza and an order of key lime BBQ wings. Cajun pizza had a respectable amount of chicken, with a bit of a kick. Key lime wings were sweet and sticky. Pizza’s seem to be individual size, so get one per person or get another item to share. Will be back!

Nice beer selection and the wings are great. We had the porky flatbread, which was quite good and a panini which was not to our taste(especially the weird pasta salad.) Very fun place.

Visited early December for lunch and appreciated that they had one or two vegetarian options. Though no fries but a unique pasta salad. The food was ok… the beer appeared to be unfiltered but not much information on the menu… one of the reasons we chose the place… atmosphere was definitely saloon/bar type. Nice to try while in the area but would probably choose something else next time.

Quick lunch several weeks ago. Chicken matzo soup. Wow! Great flavour. A soup I won’t soon forget!!! Their flatbread pizzas are killer. Great selection of craft beer!

If you are going to have a craft beer menu, then please, put some details about each of the beers, like the style, ABV, IBU, where they are from. If not, then do not give me attitude when I ask about each and every one. Food was OK, would have been better if I had remembered to tell them that I checked-in to get the 25% off. BTW, what is with that? A way to get more 4 – 5 stars? I got a panini with micro chunks of veggies, smothered in cheese; there was more bread than filling. The $ 2 up charge for a side salad got me some crisp greens, few onion slices, three roma tomato slices and a splash of shredded cheese. Back patio is dog friendly, but bring your own dog water. We noticed their dog bowl as we were leaving, dry with a cigarette butt in it.

Great selection of beer. Had the Chupacabra flat and Sriracha BBQ wings. Both were excellent. If you have a salad get the Aphrodite dressing. It’s a balsamic with something extra. Not really kid friendly but the two year old next to us did have a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

All the food items they have are well-prepared and consistently good. The patio is a fun hangout spot, and the bar is great. The staff is always knowledgeable and well-mannered. It’s a great place to go for lunch or just to catch up with some friends. It could technically be considered a sports bar, but due to its location, you won’t get the usual elements from such places. They have some craft beer selections, and they run great drink specials. They also throw some great events — their trivia nights are always popular.

I’ve been here a handful of times and the service has always been very poor. I’d learned my lesson and stopped coming, but my friend had her birthday over the weekend and she wanted to start the pub crawl here at Central Flats and Taps. I showed up after she and the rest of the party(only 4 people) had been waiting outside for a table for about 10 minutes. We waited another 10 before we were sat. Friday night, 20 minute wait, no big deal. Then we sat at the table for another 15 or so minutes without anyone greeting us. The table next to us was a really friendly couple that had been waiting about 10 minutes to pay their tab. We started joking back and forth about the service until their waitress came by, told them she’d bring them their cheque, and disappeared for another 10 or so minutes. In total, they sat there for about 20 minutes waiting to simply pay out and leave. During this time, we asked the hostess what the hold up was and she promised a server, so we sat back down. A girl came over shortly and clearly couldn’t care less about our wait. Again– it was busy, but not that busy. I’ve waited tables in restaurants and bars and our server could’ve easily checked up on us every ten minutes or so without stressing themselves out. The waitress had a hilariously blasé attitude towards the whole situation, didn’t write down our orders, and kept forgetting our beers. When she dropped off our cheques at the end of the night, she simply said ‘night’ and laid them in a stack in the middle of the table. We all had a good laugh about it. Some of us got food that looked okay, the portions were a bit on the small side for the price. We ate and drank for about an hour before we tired of having to go to the bar and order drinks and we moved to a different location. I won’t ever go back here, bottom line. I’ve never left happy, and I immediately regretted tipping the waitress as much as I did. I reserve one star reviews for places that I feel that I need to warn others about, so as to save them from an awful experience, and this is one of those few places.

Great value for what we paid. If you check in through Unilocal, you get 25% off of food, which helped with our tasty flatbread pizza, plus on Sunday, it’s $ 1 off of drafts, wine and beer. Nice selection of local drafts and awesome food options. I had a flatbread with feta, gouda, olive oil and basil. Great flavor.

Wanna give a shout out to Matt, the best server I’ve had at Central Flats and Taps! Not only did he have a delightful personality, but greeted my table with a smile. When is the last time you’ve seen a server have a smile on their face when greeting a table?! Yeah, exactly. Especially when he was serving inside but took our table outside, so we would have a server. When one of my friends wasn’t sure of what to get, he talked to her about what she liked and recommend a few drinks for her to have. She ended up getting a gin drink he recommended that looked delicious. He was super helpful, kind, nice, cute, and tattooed, here’s hoping that he decides to work every Wednesday.

I’ve been here a couple of times now since moving to Knoxville and haven’t reviewed it yet. Apparently you get a 25% discount when you check in on Unilocal so don’t forget! They have a great«rotating» beer selections and good cocktails. I split the trio starter and loved the black bean hummus and the goat cheese and spinach dip. The crab artichoke was way to salty for us. I had the central salad with chicken, it was fresh and very good. I have never been a fan of any type of buffalo chicken dish, but after having a slice of the Buffalo Chicken Flat, I have changed my mind. It is sooooo good. And it will be hard not to order that every time I return!

Check in on Unilocal and save 25% on your bill. Don’t be like me and forget to use your discount!!! A cool little spot. It’s located next to a music/record store and just a few doors down is a small music venue. After a run up and down the hills of Knoxville we worked up quite the appetite. It was a nice evening so we took a seat on their outside patio. Inside gets pretty busy and our server was working both inside and outside so there were some sporadic moments of slow service but very friendly. Definitely go for the sampler platter. The black bean hummus… … … … … … damn, you were good. That alone was worth the trip. Do you like wings? They have wings. Good wings. I can’t remember if these were fried or grilled but definitely tasted more on the grilled side. Tender on the inside with a little thickness to them. We had both the cajun rub and the BBQ key lime flavors. Both were good but I found the cajun rub to be quite exceptional. But really, go for the black bean dip.

I’m a pretty big fan of this place. I love the location, the vibe of the place, and the food. And come summer time, there are few places that have a better outdoor patio. Seriously, how many places have a mustache see-saw?! Great spot to come unwind with some trivia or play some pool, or to meet friends for drinks and dinner. And I’m pretty sure they have the best Unilocal Check In offer in all of Knoxville! Their menu is solid. I LOVE their Sun dried tomato artichoke dip. Their flatbreads and paninis are all solid. More than not I order their spicy chicken salad just for their house made dressings. Seriously, I could bath in their aphrodite or bleu cheese chorizo dressings. Don’t judge me. They have a solid beer selection, their cocktails are delcious, and it has been said that they have the best wings in town. This place never disappoints. It’s feels local to the core and I really dig that.

Never disappointed… Great food. Great staff… Had the trio dips, except the hummus one, and they are delicious… the porky pie is very good. I like that they use different kinds of sausages. Very good. Will return.

Awesome, awesome venue. Draft beers are delicious and everchanging, and the food is tasty. Try the Chupacabra flat and get some of that house made bacon ranch. I haven’t been for trivia night yet, but that’s next on the agenda.

I’m bumping this place up a star after a very positive experience there last night for a Unilocal event. They provided us apps, a wide variety of unique and flavorful wings(dry rub and wet sauce) and their dips were absolutely divine. Go with the trio of dips(Black Bean Hummus, Spinach and Goat Cheese, and the sun dried tomato) with my fave being the humus. I was here the day before and the East of Cali panini which was Dee-lish. I’m liking this place better. Fellow Unilocalers at the table were raving about their salads as well. Also, had an excellent, highly efficient, friendly and courteous waitress provide great service to our table. Nice choice for our Unilocal event!

It’s winter as I write this, but Central Flats and Taps is a great year ’round spot. Outdoors, there’s a great patio for commiserating with friends, and watching the people wander through the Happy Holler. Indoors, there are two rooms, each with a bar. The kitchen’s exposes, so you can see the hustle going on. There are a ton of TV’s if you’d rather draw you attention away from your date, or if your date would rather draw attention away from you. Now having TV’s in a place isn’t always a good thing, but the layout in the place works well and they don’t get in the way. I know the name of the place is all about the beer and the flatbreads, but I’m not a huge beer fan, and the flatbreads ARE delicious, but I dare say that Central Flats & Taps has the best wings in Knoxville. Which flavor is the best? The answer is «Yes». All of them. They have several sauces to choose from, and if you’d rather your fingers be dusty than sticky, they have a bunch of great dry rubs as well. You really can’t go wrong. They’re not overcooked, or scrawny. They are essentially the Mary Poppins of chicken wings… Practically perfect in every way. The food really is great, no matter what you order, be it the appetizers, the flatbreads, the sandwiches or the wings, you can’t go wrong, and the staff is all really friendly and helpful. They seem to all have sampled a good bit of the menu and can help find something for anyone’s taste. Now, if only winter would pass so we could wear out the patio again! Enjoy!
