Okay, something you should know is that I AM a massage therapist back home in chicago, I have my own shop and 9 people working for me, I consider myself a massage snob. What! you get it — and you see the stars I just gave so you need not read any further.
Ah, but you are… so here’s what you need to know.
This is out of her home — in a 2 wall open air healing sanctuary and very private.
If it’s a cold wet day then simply ask for more blankets!
Taradan is a Master at her craft. I came in with very specific needs and I understand that I don’t just say «here’s where it hurts» and she wouldn’t simply say «Okay, let me spend 60 minutes on that spot only» that would just be silly.
She has a plethora of techniques, allow her to do her art. Breathe and know you are good hands here.
Did I leave feeling better — YES
Would I go back again — YES
Does she do Deep work (because I need deep work — oh, people please trust your therapist to read your body and communicate with how it’s responding to our touch…) and the answer is YES.
Book in advance — although same day of appointments might be available, stay open and ready to receive.
Communication is key to any successful massage — so if it hurts, tell her — if she’s close to your pain edge tell her — if it feels good, tell her — need another blanket, tell her.
THAT ALL BEING SAID — THIS Therapist would go back to Taradan. And honestly that’s saying a lot.

I would say see my review from 2 years ago, but I like to put up current information. Once again nirvana after my massage from Taradan! She will come to you, but her space is so calming and beautiful, you’ll want to go to her. Amazing massage and you aren’t paying the insane price of a spa. She’s not always available on weekends. Next time I will book a massage before I even arrive on the island. Thank you Taradan see you next time!

AMAZING! Taradan gave me an absolutely amazing tension-​relieving massage. I live on the north shore and made the trek to see Taradan on the south side after a friend’s recommendation and I will make the trek again and again! She listened to what I requested which was firm pressure and focused on my concern of tension at the base if my head. I cannot wait to go back. Mahalo Taradan!

Taradan is amazing! She truly has magic fingers! Every year when my husband and I go to Kauai we book a massage with her. What really puts her over the top is she comes to us wherever we are staying so we can have our massage in the comfort of our own place. Perfect for taking a nap right after. She is 5 stars all the way!

I was fortunate enough to have found Taradan when I got a massage at the Sheraton years ago in Kauai. I was so relieved to hear she began doing massages on her own w/​Essential Massage, and just finished another wonderful massage yesterday. Every year we come to see Taradan, and the travel is all worth it. She has that unique skill of knowing what your body needs, and has very strong hands to get you to a very peaceful place. Just what a vacation worn body needs after all the adventure and activity of Kauai, and you don’t have to pay overpriced hotel prices – she is very reasonable, and I suggest you splurg and go with the 90 minutes – it’s worth it!

I was on Kauai for a week and had heard about Taradan as an excellent masseuse. She was usually booked solid, but had a cancellation which fit my schedule. SO glad!
Essential Massage was her studio in Lawai with great atmosphere, quiet, and island breezes. Taradan was amazingly strong and able to pinpoint my trouble spots and one I’ve had with no relief for 3 years, despite other massages. She really has that extra something in her skills, and worth experiencing.
The oil she used had special cooling properties and was a perfect counterpoint to the work she was doing on very targeted pain spots. I truly felt ‘healed’ when I left, and wished I could have Taradan give me a massage every week. She’s fabulous, and will come to you at your hotel or home location.
