Selection seems pretty thorough and more interesting than toysrus but return policy makes it hard to give or receive gifts from here. I had a gift(with original stickers still attached) I wanted to exchange and was told the return policy is 30 days with receipt. I didn’t know that when I received the gift and I was too busy over the holidays to come in for close to 45 days so now I am stuck with things my son is too old for and will probably never touch. I feel really bad for the person who bought the gift because they were really overpriced and won’t get any use! I have heard the owner runs this as a side hobby so I don’t understand the strict policy.

This bookstore has a lot of charm to it. Not only does it have books, but it has a little coffee shop in the back. I have never tried the food or coffe there, but it looks like a cute little place. The format of the bookstore is pretty straightforward and is clearly labeled so that you can find your way amongst all the shelves. They also have neat displays of other objects that are pretty unique and can make great gifts: long socks with van Gogh’s «Starry Night» printed on them, lap desks to get your read on when sitting in bed or on the couch, handcrafted notebooks and lovely pens to go with them… The only downside is because it is a small, independent bookstore, the selection is limited to what is pretty popular. However, the staff is pretty passionate about the fading art of the book, and I think it shows with how the store is kept.

This is a small, but a great little bookstore. It also has toys for kids. The best part of this little bookstore is the wrapping. They do a great job wrapping books or toys for gifts. If they don’t have a book, not to worry unless you need it right then and there, as they will order it for you for no extra charge. When it arrives, they will call you to pick it up. The staff is very friendly. I great little asset for La Canada community.

Small children’s bookstore on the north side of Foothill Blvd in La Canada Flintridge, its in the inside corner of a shopping center, the easiest way to find it from the street is there is a Big building on in front of the shopping center that sort of looks like a bank but actually sells antiques, bronzes and rugs. This is a pretty small store but actually has a decent amount of kids books. They seem to cater especially to the kids that go to the La Canada Unified School district and in the back of the store there is a room with many of the books from the reading lists from the classes in the schools in the area for grades k-12(even ap classes) already marked on the shelves to be picked out so it makes it easy if your kid has a list from the class they are in. If you can’t figure out what book to get they will help, I saw the owner help a high school student find a book for his summer reading. They also have a decent amount of beginning reader books for small children. There are many educational toy and stuffed animals that look like they would make good gifts for younger age children as well. If you are in the area and you like children’s books stores it may be worth checking out. But if you are local and have school age children(espcially if they are going to a LCUSD school) I would highly recommend going to this book store.

Fantastic little store for the little kiddies. They have all the books, stuffed animals and stationery items that you need for your kids. I believe they also order books for you if you can’t find them as well as provide all the required books for the elementary schools up til high school.

If you need a quick present for little kids, this is a great place to stop by. They are filled with toys and books(ummm. duh) for kids. Beautiful gift-wrapping when you opt for it. The teenagers they hire are always local high-schoolers, which is nice for the community. One of the things I really like about this place is that they carry the local public school’s book lists. While I don’t have kids or have a need to buy those books anymore, it was invaluable when I was way younger(back in the day when I trudged 20 miles in the snow — oh wait… it doesn’t snow in LC… and LC isn’t even 20 miles long.)
