Cozy and quaint atmosphere. Tasty calamari and spaghetti. One of my favorite places to visit in the summer because of their outdoor seating: red-checkered tablecloths, umbrellas, and Frank Sinatra on the speakers.

I have ordered pizza from this restaurant several times with no complaints. However, last night I made a carryout order for an order of Baked Mostaccioli with meat sauce and an order of garlic bread. I was told it would be 30 minutes. Seemed like a long time for a single order of pasta but whatever. I came to pick it up after 25 minutes and sure enough it was ready and had been sitting there(I have no idea how long it was sitting there, but clearly it was done well before the 30 minute time i was quoted) I paid for my food and took it home. The size of the order was quite small in comparison to other places i have ordered this dish from and the garlic bread was cold and hard(this goes back to telling me 30 minutes pickup time but the order being ready well before 30 minutes) I have ordered Baked Mostaccioli probably 100 times from many different restaurants, every time it is Mostaccioli and sauce baked with cheese on top. To my surprise there was no cheese baked on top when I opened the food. There was also no meat sauce.(I specifically asked for meat sauce because if there wasnt i would have added meatballs or sausage or something) I called the restaurant and explained to whoever answered the phone my issue. He put me on hold for what I assume was the manager or owner. When he came on the phone, magically he couldnt hear me because my phone was breaking up(the first person I spoke to had no such issue hearing me) I explained the issue, he told me no, baked mostaccioli has ricotta cheese in with the pasta and its baked. Seemed weird, but anyway fine ill accept that. I then told him there was no meat in the sauce. He said, «yes there is» I said sir Im sitting here with the food in front of me, there is zero meat in this dish. He said their pasta is made with meat sauce but there isnt a lot of meat in it. I again explained there is zero meat in this dish. He again repeated yes there is. I have never had a more frustrating experience dealing with a restaurant manager/owner. He basically was calling me a liar. Finally he said well you can bring it back for a refund. At that point I was done. It wasnt worth my time/effort to drive back to return the food for the refund. Due to the attitude of the manager/owner, I just will take my business elsewhere as there are many other places nearby.

Decent pizza. It seems like it’s missing a little bit of something but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Everything else on the menu is just average so tread lightly.

two stars is «Meh, I’ve experienced better,» for sure. I love the Taylor street vibe, the old school atmosphere is perfect. the folks are nice, service is mediocre. The food category is lacking. I expected pasta with flavor, I expected homemade pasta? I dont think it was. There was five of us, the items we ordered; lasagne, gnocchi, linguini with clam and meatballs. noodles were mushy, and tomatoes sauce just tasted like canned tomatoes. with one bottle of wine, the whole thing was $ 160. Not worth it, wont be back. So sorry.

A little family-run Italiano dive in LaGrange. Nothing fancy. They’re not re-inventing the wheel here, but everything I had was fine fine fine. Do the gnocchi…

Unpretentious food in a cozy neighborhood setting says it best. The best gnocchi around and I travel the country. It’s awesome. Light fluffy pillows. The other entrees are your basic good Sicilian food choices. Prices are very reasonable. They even have a nice little wine selection. Good pizza too. Casual dining at its best.

i live in La Grange until I was 16 and used to go here with my mom all the time. It was always delicious and friendly service. 16 years later and it is still the same. My mom and dined here last night for old time’s sake. It is a cute, casual little restaurant. Our server, a gentleman, was very nice and took good care of us. We ordered the bruschetta to start, very tasty. We ordered our main dishes w/salad on the side. The Italian dressing is pretty god as well. I had the veal scallopini, it was tasty, but was a small piece of veal with a huge amount of sauce on it, an unnecessary amount, but that’s ok, the flavor was there and I enjoyed it. The sauce that came on my mostaccioli was just as good as I remembered it. My mom ordered the linguine in white clam sauce. That was outstanding. No, it does not come with the clams in the shell, so it is easier for eating in my opinion! It was so good. Lots of garlic tho, so do not plan any dates after dinner here :) The bread served with the meals was also wonderful, and came out warm. Other than the large amount of sauce over my veal, my only other complaint, and this is really no big deal, is that they put a bottle of olive oil on the tables, as if it is right off the grocery store shelf, I would prefer it in some cute vessel with a spout instead, but really that’s stretching for any sort of complaint. I think the prices are fair for good Italian food, I don’t think they are too pricey. Cheap Italian would mean you have to cut some corners, we don’t want that. I was so pleased and so glad we came back. I won’t wait another 16 years for my next visit, that’s for sure!

Closeby, convenient, and pretty tasty for carry out. Not much atmosphere for dining in. The tables are close together and you really feel packed in. Sitting outside is nice. Pizzas and pastas are good. Prices are a bit high but I imagine the rent is high for this spot right near the metra station.

We started out with the fried calamari, it was not overcooked, then proceeded to the soup/salad minestrone was a nice consistency but I like mine with a little more seasoning. The salad with creamy garlic dressing was good .We had the linguine with red and linguine with white sauce, both we’re good although I like mine with a little more spice, this was a good dish. The expresso and coffee were so-so. While we were there they did a brisk pizza business and the atmosphere of the place was cozy and kid friendly, the service was very good and the cost is very affordable, we will be back

The owners are so nice and the service is always great. The inside of the restaurant is a little cramped, but it’s a favorite for takeout pizza. The crust is just thick enough, the sauce is sweet, but not too sweet, and the toppings are always good(I’m a fan of the green pepper & pepperoni). I love supporting this local business because of how friendly they are.

Our group of 6 are all from LaGrange, some are fairly regular patrons and some have not been to Antoninos for several years. I can say that after our dinner last night, we all will now be regulars! Everyone ordered a different entrée, from pizza to the mushroom ravioli and not one of us was disappointed. Service and food were excellent, prices for food and drinks very reasonable. Great value for the price, good for all ages.

Such a find I have found! Great pizza, decadent calamari, lovely service We shared their veggie pizza, which is one of the best veggie pizza’s you will ever taste. Fresh everything, fresh tomatoes, garlic, cheese, olives, peppers, mushrooms. Water and soda refilled generously, great service. This place nails it… taste, service, and price were all great. They also have a cool commuter deal… turn in your expired train pass and get $ 3 off. Who doesn’t love that? It’s mostly a family place, and in the best way possible. But they have a busy carry out window, and that’s because Antonio kicks ass in the kitchen.

We love this place and eat there or carry out weekly. Family owned and run, great pizza and good red sauce which to me defines an Italian place. VERY small but pleasant inside and in the warmer weather outside seating. Go and bring your family great for a all ages.

We stopped in yesterday and I liked the retro atmosphere of an Italian family run restaurant. It was warm and toasty inside. The owner came over and talked with us, he made us feel welcomed and comfortable. My sister and I ordered lasagne and it was a big slice with delicious sauce and cheese. He told us he makes his own ricotta cheese. The waiter was a nice student and he did a fine job. The prices are very reasonable. I want to return and take my parents. I enjoyed the old school Italian music that was playing, I think restaurants should play music like that, it sets the atmosphere.

Fancy? No, but a good inexpensive neighborhood restaurant. The pizza is decent and the pasta dishes are solid. The salad and toasty hot bread that comes with the dinners is always very good. For the price, with most entrees on the menu listing for less than $ 10 I feel Antonino’s is a very good value. My only complaint would be that cary-out dinners cost more than the exact same item ordered in the restaurant. This is because salad is included if you dine in but is an extra charge for carry-out.

This place is so mediocre, I really do not understand the appeal here. Maybe that it looks like you are eating at a real italian family’s dining room. The only problem is that they overcook their ronzoni pasta and their sauce is watery. Antonino’s just reminds me that I can always make italian better than they can. The pizza is about the only redeeming thing, but even then, it’s very salty.

Antonino’s is a small, quiet, red-sauce Italian restaurant. And it does that perfectly. Don’t come here if you’re looking for innovative dishes or super-authentic cuisine or cutting edge ambience. DO come here if you are looking for a delicious but«un-fancy» dinner of pizza or pasta with friendly service and a quiet cozy dining room. Often there’s nothing I like more than meeting my husband after work(he comes straight from the LaGrange/Stone Ave. metra station which is right across the street) and having a glass of wine with a delicious dinner(I love their linguine with clam sauce!). Highly recommended for a cozy dinner with your family.

I haven’t had such a bad experience at a restuarant in a while! What a disapointment. The space is teeny, which can be quaint and charming. But somehow, this place felt really cold and more like a fast-food restaurant than an authentic Italian trattoria. But still, I thought maybe it would be one of those places that surprises you with amazing food in wierd surroundings. But that just isn’t the case here. Our group ordered a variety of different things, and nothing was exceptional… most of the dishes weren’t even good. So disappointing! The pasta primavera looked like it had been made with frozen vegetables that had been horribly overcooked– all mushy. Gross! The chicken parmagiana was tough and had very little flavor. How do you mess these things up?! I can handle cramped quarters and mediocre food, but the service is what really got to me. First of all, it was half an hour before someone even came to take our order.(It wasn’t even busy at all.) Even then, we had to ask if we could order some food. The woman that was waiting on us acted as if we were bothering her when we asked for another bottle of wine, once we were actually able to get her attention. In such a small place, she must have been really trying hard to ignore us. The situation got to be a little ridiculous, actually. We wound up grabbing a busboy to ask for our check, who also looked at us as if we had three heads. Boo, Antonino’s. I was so ready to like you.
