Shade Shack

My wife had gone here after reading good reviews on Unilocal.When i needed new shades I did the same. I could not find anything which fit me and was in the price level I was willing to spend. I told the sales person that I would buy the same glasses I already had if they were available. She took down the brand and style and said she was going to check about ordering them for me. She called me the same day and said when checking she realized that they had them in stock but she had not seen them. Of course I went back and purchased them. Great service, good selection and no high power sales approach.

Excellent selection and customer service. When my Prada lens got scratched by a naughty little puppy, they got me new lenses without a problem. They carry quality brands and seemed to have good relationships with the brand reps. The woman who worked there also had a good eye for what frames go with what faces and understood how each brand’s version of a particular style was different. My finicky cheap ass ex boyfriend bought two pairs of glasses there because he thought the prices were reasonable and he could try on all the brands he liked.

I came to Shade Shack based on Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed! After losing my ray bans to some big waves in Sayulita I needed some replacements. I knew I wanted ray bans again and was really happy to see Shade Shack had such a big selection. I tried on nearly ever pair so I was confident in selecting the pair I bought. I really appreciated all of the cases being unlocked so I could try on a bunch — easier than some places where you have to request to see each pair.
Rita adjusted my frames and told me if I needed them readjusted to come back. Even better, ray bans were all $ 20 off! I never expected to find a sale on them so that was really exciting.
Big selection and friendly customer service. Hopefully I don’t need to go back to replace my shades anytime soon, but I’ll recommend it to others.

Ok, so around a year ago I bought my husband sunglasses from here. They’ve been his favorite ever since. But…
Silly husband put fragile Maui Jim in laptop bag, silly husband crushes gift from wife. Mad wife (me) takes badly injured Maui Jims to Rita. Rita was super duper nice and fixes poor Maui in less than 15 minutes to brand new condition at no charge. Rita is amazing.
Hubby will reward me with my fav chocolate cake tonight.

Such a wonderful small business to support. My family only gets our shades here. Rita is amazing and so knowledgable. Does a great job of picking the perfect frames. She recently helped my husband pick out the perfect pair for my birthday. She followed up with me to be sure they were the right choice.

I just bought my 7^th pair of sunglasses from the Shade Shack! I’ve bought my mom, my sister, my boyfriend and of course myself, sunglasses from here and it’s a success each and every time. They are always having some kind of amazing sale and the service is second to none. Rita, the owner, personally took my sunglasses to an eye care professional where he remolded my favorite pair of sunglasses to fit the shape of my face after years of wear. This was not expected and above and beyond to say the least. I dropped a pair of sunglasses I purchased from her and they had a small scratch on the lenses that I mentioned to her. Without even having to ask, she insisted on looking into trying to get the lenses replaced for me. It is obvious she really cares about her store, her products, her reputation, and most importantly her customers. I will never, ever purchase sunglasses from anyone else after the kindness and amazing service she’s always greeted me with. I just wanted to say thanks and I’m sure I’ll see you again soon! A girl can never have too many cute pairs of sunglasses. :)

Great, fashionable and sporty selection, with helpful staff. I can never quite tell how shades look on my head/​face, so I need a 2^nd (or 3^rd or 4^th) opinion. I have spent over an hour in the store, debating over which pair and I never feel pressured or rushed.
Also cute, well maintained shop, very generous with the soft polishing fabric square thingys, and sometimes have a candy dish (a bonus in my book!). Both Rita (the owner) and Trudy have been awesome. Way better than one of the big spots at the mall, lots of personal attention.

I bought my shades there when I lived in SD. Now I live in NYC and I still buy my shades there.
Rita rules. ‘nuf said.
