Nothing but positive things to say about my experience here. Spent a lot of time researching cues before I went in to get my first pro cue and Brandon was a lot of help. He is very knowledgeable and was not trying to rip me off at all. Even gave me a healthy military discount. Enjoyed it, will be returning for years go come.

Great service and on time! Randy and Eddie were incredibly nice and even were willing to stay late to accommodate our change of location for our pool table.

Good store for darts and dart supplies. He lets you try the darts before buying so you know what you will end up with. Also had all sorts of spinning stems on top of the standard stuff.
Nice selection of darts from the nickel/​brass darts all the way up.

Great experience and price. They came on a Saturday to refelt and change my bumpers, gave me a 2 hour window but actually showed up EARLY! They were extremely quick with the work and I was very pleased. Found a splinter under the felt but they sent the guys right back out to fix it.

This place is where pros shop. or any Joe schmo can go to feel like a pro. Brandon (I believe is the owner) was extremely helpful and patient with me. I had to call several times to ask tons of questions before scheduling. He did not try to make sales by suggesting things that we didn’t need. He asked how often we play and how well we played to assist with the hardest decision — Felt!
My fiancé inherited a pool table from 1983, that was in really bad shape. After dusting, sanding, and staining it ourselves we decided to enlist professionals to re-​felt and balance the table. The guys who came were amazing. They were there a little longer than expected because of the leveling but were very nice and taught my fiancé a lot about his table, the art of pool, and even a few life lessons.
Immediately after our table was completed we headed down to the store front because we needed balls (lol. never gets old). Brandon was there to help choose the right balls, cues, and other accessories necessary for a pool table. I appreciate all of the team members help!

This place is rad and I wish San Jose had a shop like this! They had everything the pool/​darts aficionado could ever desire. We went in looking for some darts and darts accessories and found an entire corner stocked with goodies… darts of different weights and materials, binders literally overflowing with flights, tips, etc. Brandon, the owner, was super helpful and even opened up some darts for us to try out. The store was full of other people getting equipment for pool, and based on their conversations, it seemed that they were regular and satisfied customers. Also, we showed up right before he was closing up, and he continued to stay open to help us and even let others into the store. When we eventually did leave, it was 30 mins after closing and there were probably 7 people still hanging out and trying out different cues and things.
So, in short, GREAT customer service, incredible selection, and just a really fun place to check out. Awesome find, and would highly recommend it.
ps…the price range selection doesn’t really apply here. There was something for every price range. Cheap darts for the novice player or super fancy expensive darts for the experienced. We just told him our price range and he showed us what area to look at.

I’ve started to become serious about pool and decided to invest in a high quality cue. I took the two hour+ drive down to the store. All I can say is that it was worth every minute. The owner Brandon let me try out a few of the Predator cues and shafts before I made my final choice. I had a lot of questions ranging anywhere from cue/​shaft maintenance to whether or not I should replace the tip. He was extremely patient and very informative with every question I had. I could definitely tell he was an honest person and took pride in making sure I left happy.
I have been to other billiards stores in the past and have always felt judged when the employee (s) ask me about my experience as a player. It always seems like the more experienced players look down on the novices. I did not feel this way at this store. Brandon was extremely helpful and let me know that if I ever had any questions I could contact him. It’s nice to know that there are players/​shop owners out there who genuinely love the game and want to instill their wisdom to up and comers.
Definitely coming back for all my billiards needs.

i just got off the phone with brandon regarding the purchase of a pool table i had seen at his shop a few days earlier. he told me what i was looking at would not work too well in my area. sadly, (for both of us) this killed the sale. brandon’s honesty, and his philosophy of not «wanting to make the sale no matter what» left me respecting his business ethics and trusting his judgement.
i’ve been in retail all my adult life (next year i become a beatles song «64»). i was once told by a very wise man that «you can’t sell from an empty wagon». his shop follows that thinking. his inventory of merchandise is huge! you go in to make a purchase and chances are you will leave with just what you wanted. i wanted a standard regulation cue ball for use on a bar table, i had four to pick from! i noticed the selection of cue sticks in stock literally covers walls this is very rare in todays brick and mortar market.

great store. went there to check out some cues, answered all my questions and I found a McDermott cue that worked perfect for me, they have a ton of products to choose from. I was very happy with the purchase and will go back for all my billiard needs

I’ve been going to Billiards and Darts Direct and now Select Billiards for over 10 years! I have always been treated nice by the staff. Brandon (Owner) is full of good information and valuable knowledge when it comes to his products and services. I trust his judgment when I’m shopping for a new cue stick. I also had several new cue tips replacements done on several shafts. I never had a problem with any one of them falling off.
I had a tip replacement done at this other place in Chula Vista off of Palomar Rd primarily due to location and it fell off during a city finals tournament. I was sooo mad… aah anyways, let me re-​focus… Brandon’s main objective is to make sure that the customer is completely satisfied and very happy with their purchase as I have always been. I truly and honestly recommend this place for all of your billiard needs.

Background: Twelve years ago I used to be on a dart team and loved playing and for 7 years (since our electronic board died) my husband and I have talked about buying another board for home but every time we shopped some where we just got the feeling that they didn’t care if they had our business or not so it was a purchase we continued to put off.
A few weeks ago we stumbled across Billiards and Darts Direct online and liked their website and YouTube videos and decided to check them out. We bought a board that day and a few tips to change our soft tips to steel tips and some bar darts for our friends to throw. He teased me we would be back after throwing our light soft tips and sure enough we treated ourselves to new darts as a bday/​Christmas presents to ourselves. We have now shopped and purchased here three times and have been happy every time.
We felt very welcome and the service was friendly and courteous. They were able to recommend different darts to me and they have a board set up to test them out. We will continue to use them for any refreshing of supplies we need. I would recommend them to anybody who has any needs for a game room and if we ever get a bigger house I will use them to set up our game room.

They didn’t carry an item I was looking for so they got online and told me where I could get it. Was so pleased, I bought a dartboard!

Can’t recommend this establishment enough, as someone who really dislikes shopping in general, the comfortable no pressure vibe here was great. I was looking to buy a couple of «starter» dart sets as an upgrade from the darts included with my dartboard, and Brandon was patient, helpful and knowledgeable about the wide range of dart options, and didn’t try to up sell or b.s. me to spend more money than I needed to … although I live in Cardiff I’ll make the drive south anytime I need billiards or darts accesories, you should too!

I had a great experience buying my pool table from this place. I talked to Brandon on the phone, and he was there when I went in last week. I had a million and one questions for him from wood types, weight, measurements… he answered everything politely and was very informative. He wasn’t trying to sell me some crazy expensive table, but rather one that would work for me and fit nicely in my house.
They have a huge selection of cues and a good selection of tables. They also have shuffle board tables, barstools, darts, ping pong conversion tables etc.
My table was delivered and installed yesterday by two guys named Travis and Jack. They were both very nice and didn’t let me make the wrong decision of where to place my table! It took at good 2.5 hours, and the table was set up right and plays really well!
I would recommend this place all around, and will definitely be using them again in the future.

I bought my cue and other billiards accessories here, and also have all my cue maintenance done here as well. They have a huge selection and the guys in the shop are really helpful and knowledgeable about every piece of inventory they have, and will be honest with you about what they would recommend you regardless of the price.

This place is great. They have so many cues up on their wall to chose from. Ive been to the other billiards shops in san diego, and this place has so much more to chose from than this place. I bought my darts, dartboard, the multiple pool cues I have, and I bought a DLT Pool table from them as well. When I went to set up my game room completely I also bought a poker table, with the cards and the chip set from them. They have everything you need to set up your game room, and their prices are very reasonable too. The two guys that came to setup my table did an amazing job. The guy was so knowledgeable about pool tables, and he set my table up just the way I wanted. They even tightened up the pockets for me on my pool table when I asked them to.

I cannot speak to the store aspect, all I can attest to is the mobile pool table moving and repair that these guys offer as well. I had a horrible experience with these guys. My boyfriend and I had just acquired a pool table and had gone through all the trouble to sand, stain, and varnish the table and now it was time for new felt and bumpers. We ponied up for the highest level of felt and awesome K66 rubbers. After a $ 500+ bill and a couple hours the guys left and we were happy. That was until we went to play on it and the rails had been misaligned — the ball wouldn’t even bounce off one of the rails cause it was mounted so high it would almost just get trapped on it. They offer a 100% guarantee so we called them back to fix the rails. They came back in a couple days and fixed them to the way they should be. A couple weeks later we noted that wax had bubbled and seeped up in the seams between the pieces of slate. Once again, I called Billiards Direct back and asked them what the problem was. After trying to tell me that it was «too hot» in my house and the wax was melting along with I must have been applying too much pressure to the table causing it to shift (mind you we’d only played one game on it) they reluctantly came back to our house (bad attitudes included) and «fixed» it. A week later, the same thing happened again — I’ll be darned if I was gonna call them back again to keep half-@$$ing the work they were doing. We ended up calling Billiard Pros and they fixed it and we have not had a problem since.
The horrible customer service, mixed with the crappy job they did on our table means I’ll never use or recommend their services ever again.

I’m going there tonight to buy a pool cue, I’ll review the place tomorrow to let you know how the shopping went.
