I ordered a burger to go and when I got home i couldn’t tell if was beef, pork or chicken. Mystery meat?!! They have traditionally had great burgers but tonight– yuk.

Shud I say it ok considering its one of the few places in the island or rate it based on real quality of food. Either way the spinach salad with chicken(which was their special !!) was very mediocre with the vinaigrette creating a little puddle in the middle! It should have been wild spinach salad with the giant inedible leaves in it!!! White fish sandwich was not bad but was fishy for my taste! Mushroom soup was by far the best of the worst. Pricey for such mediocre food. Bring your own food and plan a picnic at the island! You will save time and money and enjoy your meal too.

This place had me confused from the start. What was it? You order over there, they bring out the food to you. Oh, it’s similar to a Culvers! But wait, I need to order the drinks at the packed bar… okay, now that I have that straight, I can try the food. Fish seems the obvious choice, but I had a hankering for nachos. And that means it’s time for the nacho breakdown! Chips: Big plate of tortilla chips. Nothing special about the chips. They did they’re job as little plates with the occasional soggy one. Real Cheese: More like cheese sauce, this was my least favorite part of the nachos and hard to avoid. Fresh toppings: Yes, they had these right. A little cilantro, some tomato chunks, black beans and jalapenos on it. All made it the best part of the nachos. Sides: Sour cream on the side where it should be. Nacho conclusion: Pass on the nachos. While there was potential in the toppings, the chips and«cheese» killed it. Next time I’ll try the fish and squeeze my way to the bar. But really how hard is it to make a place to order drinks?

Great for live music and good bar food. The reuben was our fave. Bartenders are definitely on island time.

Literally right on the water!!! You have to order your drink at the bar and food at their food counter but it seems like a great relaxed place for a drink. They were pretty busy and helped is as soon as they could. Only caution is that the locals were rude but maybe they are sick of all the tourists.

Terrible calamari but the blood Mary’s were so amazing that it didn’t matter. Not sure if come back for food. But the cost of the faery was worth it for that drink!

The neon sign said«Fresh Fish,» which seemed like a wonderful idea; we had biked about 14 miles, 6 of them loaded down with camping gear, and all of them on nothing but a few beef sticks eaten hours earlier. Stopped here back in February, where it seemed most of the island’s hardcore inhabitants were brunching, but we were just there to use the ATM. At the counter, we saw the sign for the Friday fish fry, which came in trout or whitefish. Ordered one of each plus a fish chowder and a couple of hard ciders. Sat outside with a number and the ciders in hand, and watched the seemingly endless lake. Calm day. The ferry running in and out. Another couple a few tables over amusing themselves by feeding ducks. Food came out relatively quick. The whitefish was good, but I liked the trout better. The fish were definitely fresh and cooked perfectly, with a thin crumb batter. The fries tasted like your standard Sysco fries, good enough. The fish chowder was great, milky but not too creamy with large chunks of fish in it. We ate quickly and then sat around in a sated daze for a while. There is no greater way to pass the time watching Lake Superior and its going ons. Thumbs up from me.

First of the season opener. Fish tacos were pretty tasty. Curds were as well, tho probably out of the freezer bag. Haven’t met many curds I don’t like.

This place is great! We ordered the fish tacos and the fish sandwich and both were extremely fresh and awesome. This establishment has a great ambiance, nice bar area, flat screen TV for sporting events, and the service is great as well. The menu items are prepared with care and all are priced right. The Beach Club is located right on the water so you can take a relaxing stroll on the docks before or after your meal. Very friendly and welcoming staff and I would recommend to my family and friends.

The food is passable but that’s not the reason to come here. It’s a perfectly relaxing spot for a warm day, overlooking the lake. Friendly people, and cold drinks. The fish is probably you best bet for a meal.

This was a sweet spot — and the food was pretty nice as well. We got the white fish sandwich special and it was fried perfectly and came out fast!!! When at the bar the waitress asked if i wanted fries — which apparently was an upgrade — and I didn’t want them really — but thought it just came with it — but it was really chips — anyways — had i known I probably wouldn’t have«upgraded» to the fries — which were only on the okay side anyways — the sandwich however was awesome. Nice views of the lake and seems you can take your drinks out of the bar with you?

The fish tacos are very good and the beer is always cold. You order at the window and can eat at the bar, dinning room, patio, or sit out back next to the water, what else can you ask for? The bar tenders are always friendly and the service is good.

LOCATIONLOCATIONLOCATION I like here, because you can walk a few feet from the deck and wiggle your toes in Lake Superior. The deck does have limited seating, but the view and vibe are awesome. You can watch the ferries come and go too. If you sit at the bar inside facing the windows, you almost feel like you are outside. After ordering at the window, you go find a seat. Maybe they don’t have table service because most of the servers/bartenders(summer time) are from Eastern Europe. I find that sooooo charming! The gal bartender has been coming over many years, and brings kids with her. I love having a server from a different country, their accents are too cute. However, my experience with Euros is that their English is impeccable, with a fabulous vocabulary, but comprehension not so good. You may get what you want, and you may not. That’s OK, handsome Ukrainian boy, I will eat whatever YOU put in front of me. And like it. I had never knowingly had Lake Superior Whitefish, so I tried it. Ick. Flash Forward, it was ordered for me a different establishment, and it was terrific, So when I went back to the Beach Club, I tried again, and it was much much better. I think the first time it wasn’t fresh. Shit happens. Otherwise, all the dishes I saw come out were typical bar food. If you are visiting Madeline Island, at least stop here and have a drink. Even if the food were different, and the help not so interesting, I would still keep returning. Something about the ambiance and being RIGHT on the water. Good JUJU here. LOCATIONLOCATIONLOCATION !!!

Plenty of docking, and when the dock is full the beach provides a nice drop off for beaching on the inside. There is a window you can sometimes get your drink right on the patio, and if you go inside the and sit at the bar you are looking out over the dock and the harbor. Just simply the best place to pull up a Boat on Madeline Island.

Great bar, plenty of seating, jukebox. We went during their off season but it was still pretty busy because of 3 weddings on the island. You have to go up to the kitchen window area to place your order. Get the fish tacos. Delicious! You get 2 of them so I’d suggest an appetizer as well. Don’t miss the sunsets here — it’s beautiful

Food was good, no real gluten free options. Nothing too fancy, was more of a bar than I’d call a restaurant.

Outdoor seating is pretty limited so get there for an early supper if you want a chance at a table out back. I had a burger with cheddar cheese &french fried onions on it, burger was good despite soggy fried onions. My date got the fried white fish and it was overcooked so it was dry but at least it was fresh. The service was pretty prompt. Overall it was a good time.

After a morning spent hiking around Town Park and Big Bay State Park, my hubby and I were pretty hungry. The Beach Club was one of only a few restaurants open for lunch in October, and came recommended by the locals. The inside of the restaurant feels like a sports bar, but they have a really nice outside seating area that is right on Lake Superior, perfect for an afternoon lunch on a warm fall day. I decided to go with a cup of their wild rice soup, and my hubby ordered the fish tacos. The soup was excellent, perfectly creamy and full of flavor. It came with two small slices of bread. The serving size is generous and I wasn’t able to finish it all. The tacos were also excellent. They come fried, which I don’t normally like as much, but they were perfectly crispy. My only complaint is that they are a little salty and the side of guac is not real guacamole, but that fake stuff from the grocery store.
