I have been going to Ken Carr’s Martial Arts dojo for over two months now and I am very impressed. The people are very nice, polite and respectful. Sensei Ken is an exceptional teacher. Not only he is a really good karate instructor, he has great form, speed and accuracy. He is also a great role model for all the kids in the class. He treats them with respect and teaches them to do the same. Not only is he teaching them karate but also how to become honorable citizens. He incorporates in to his teaching some history, math, geography and life lessons. He is tough with the students and gentle at the same time. For me, at age 58, I find Sensei Ken an inspiring teacher. He inspires me to try and be a better, faster and stronger marshal artist. After weighing 248 pounds and having gastric surgery less than four months ago, the karate and Ken’s dojo keeps me alive and in shape. Without it, I would not look as good as I am right now. The karate and Ken’s dojo is truly a life line for me. It is a family place. The connection with everyone else does feel like an extension of a family. Everyone cares and respects everybody else, something that Sensei Ken infuses into all his students. I would highly recommend Ken’s dojo to anyone who is interested in karate and especially for kids. It builds character and self confidence.

Great place for kids! Very family oriented with good values. My boy has being taking karate for more than 6 month and even though he is 3 years old love it and pay attention to his instructor. And a prize that you can not find in any other place in the valley!

This school was recommended by my daughters classmate. Went for the free introductory session and she(7 year old) immediately feel in love with it. Soon after my oldest daughter(15 year old) started, then I joined as well. Sensei Carr is a well respected figure in the martial arts arena both in Karate and Kobudo. What sets the school apart from many other dojos is that he teaches a traditional form of karate. We all look forward to attending class because it feels more like we are hanging out with family. Not only have the kids learned self defense, discipline and respect, but they have both gained a focus in their lives that has improved their grades and work habits.
