Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store

Large outlet with clothes and home goods. All these stories seem fairly similar, but I suppose when the brand is so iconic that’s to be expected. This one also has great parking and easy access for foot traffic.
There was a line when I was here both times in the span of a week, it’s a popular place.

So — I am frequently between NYC, Saratoga and the Adirondacks and stop in frequently. There is always a great selection of clothing — but as with ALL retail, if you hit a sale day you can really get a deal. I’m giving this a five star for one reason and one reason only — this store could potentially have the best staff of any retail store I have ever been in. They are courteous and professional but every single employee takes it a step further and goes the extra mile. It seems to me that they make an effort to establish relationships (and by relationships I mean remembering what people purchase) that most other retail stores do not. So professional but with very warm attitudes.
I hope that the chain management recognizes their exceptional attitudes and will reward them properly. OH — and if anyone from corporate is reading this — please don’t charge your regular, repeat customers for Christmas boxes… that’s just cheap and makes me want to buy Christmas gifts elsewhere.
All in all — great shop with amazing employees.

Men’s selection is very nice and the customer service is absolutely stellar. Would not hesitate to stop here first next time we’re in town.

I’d have given it one more star if the prices really were discount, but overall, unless you get lucky on some of the clearance finds, the RL factory store prices are only slightly less than department store. I bought a dress for my daughter for example, regularly priced at 39.99, for 29.99. I know she will get lots of wear out of this so it’s worth it, but darn if they were only a little cheaper I’d get more of them. This is a good price but about the same as a department store sale with a coupon. The best bargain I scored is a polo shirt for her in a Size 6X for $ 14.99. The advantage of shopping here is that it’s neat, clean, and well laid out with nice 3-​way mirrors in the store and dressing rooms. The employees are very helpful and friendly, like — imagine this — they are happy to be here. When I entered the store I was greeted with the special offer of 20% off a purchase of $ 250 or more. Drats. I wish that could have been $ 100 or more. Although a total purchase or $ 250 can easily be achieved here especially once you become hooked on this stuff (which it’s easy to do, I think I already am) I actually thought about it but that was just way over my limit. The quality of RL items is really, really good. I also bought myself a tee shirt from the rack display of 12.99 (v neck tee shirt available in many colors) and the high quaity of the fabric is evident. I also received plenty of help here (but not ovebearing or sales-​y) to choose the right size and items. I signed up for the mailing list and future discounts.

I’ve been here a lot, since I live in the area, and I’m not a big fan. Their women’s section is overpriced and not that great. I need tall/​long pants and they never have them. Their baby/​kids section is adorable though and their men’s section is great! The men’s section has a lot to offer and the prices/​sales are excellent. If they added more of a selection to the women’s section, I would rate this store higher. The salespeople aren’t that friendly, they seem to have an attitude and sometimes are arrogant.

I’m a novice when it comes to factory/​outlet stores. So this was a relatively sweet treat for me to find — esp. just 4 minutes away from the hotel at which we stayed. The store itself is neatly kept, with a friendly staff and wide range of merchandise (except shoes — bummer!). The only thing I didn’t like (which accounts for the lack of one star) was how it seemed to lack in certain sizes for most items.
Overall, I enjoyed the 30 minutes spent here — after which I walked out with a bag of merchandise all bought at a bargain price!
