Stopped by for a quick dinner, on the patio. Server friendly but had to ask for silverware, salt and pepper, cheese. I was asked if I wanted a refill on my tea. «Yes, please»…never did it. Had two cheese slices ½ a star. Greasy, limp, cold awful. Had a side salad. Not refrigerated so «warm”/room temperature so not crisp but at least it was okay and the dressing was a C+. How this place gets more than 2 stars is mind boggling. Riverwalk, Mello Mushroom, even a takeout from Marco’s or a frozen from Publix is better. Hadn’t been here in quite some time(met a friend so didn’t choose it) and won’t go back for a longer time. Ew.

$ 2 slices, friendly waiters, and high quality pizza. What more could you ask for? Team favorite this week we came here multiple nights for dinner. The pizza is a must order here. Many people expressed that it was some of the best pizza they’ve had in a long time. Comparable to NY quality pizza. The servers were all so friendly and began to recognize us from our multiple trips. The Greek salad was also great, and they bring out bread to eat before dinner. The bread was pretty average though. Overall, great quality pizza but don’t expect five star quality service.

This pizza is reasonably priced and tastes amazing, I lived in NYC for 22 years so its not an easy task to live up to my Pizza standards; but Papa Joes hits the mark.

Ive been going here since I was in high school. This place was always the after movie theater hangout spot. The location of this place is perfect its right by the ice cream shop and theater and a bar! I would normally give this place a 5 star rating. As time went by this place got more and more pricier. I stopped coming here as often because it just became way too overpriced. The food however I have to say is delicious, If you love your thin crusted New York style pizza and garlic knots this is the spot in florida! The food is amazing, you may or may not find it a bit pricey but I def recommend this place!

Ordered takeout eggplant parmigiana sub. Wish there was more sauce, but when I asked for sauce on the side they said they would have to charge me. Not a fan of the sesame seeds on the bread so had to avoid eating them. Never in my life have I had a parm hero with sesame seeds on it. Eggplant has a subtle flavor that the sesame interfered with. One of the eggplant parm patties wasn’t flattened. On a good note the sandwich was pretty big.

I frequent this area often and have eaten at Papa joes before. My boyfriend, brother and I decided to grab a bite before a movie and decided pizza is a safe bet. Walked in and we were seated right away and given menus. First problem: menu was covered in grease! It was oily and dirty which was gross but we’re reasonable people and just shared the one clean menu. Another sever came over and introduced herself and took our order. The pricing is a little steep here. Personal pizza which is 4 small slices is $ 8. 00(the server told us the slices were small). So automatically we thought okay we’ll do a medium at $ 15.00 for 6 slices or a large is 8 slices for 16.00? Seems like quite a bit of money and the price range is strange. But we ordered a large and left if at that. 2nd problem. After ordering I noticed there was a huge dead roach in the window near us! So gross! I was ready to leave after seeing that because it just turned my stomach. Also the carrier for the parmesan cheese, pepper flakes and oregano was completely layered with dust! Hadn’t been cleaned in months I’m sure. 3rd problem: The kitchen is within view of the dining area which is a hit or miss depending on the cleanliness of the staff. Definitely a miss with this staff. I could see the pizza chef very clearly. Without gloves, he took out the trash and wiped a messy spill up on the floor with dirty rags and then went right back to prepping and making the pizzas. That’s when it was the last straw. I’m not about to spend $ 16.00 with the risk of getting sick!

This pizza place is across the street from my mom’s and we used to come here all the time and loved it. Last time we went, our whole order took almost an hour because an oven broke and they took a large order and bumped ours. We were also promised a free order of garlic knots which were mistakenly given away to another table, and when the order finally came out it was missing the toppings we ordered. Then, after being promised we would get a discount on our bill, we were actually overcharged $ 10 on our credit card and had to have a credit issued. Tonight we decided to give it one more shot, hoping that our last visit was a fluke, and ordered takeout. When we arrived, our two same-sized pizzas were in two different sized boxes. One was jammed into a smaller box with the ends curled up. The extra cheese pizza did not appear to have extra cheese, and the spinach pizza that we ordered with tomatoes was made without tomatoes. The chef quickly threw tomatoes on top of the already baked pizza and tossed it back into the oven for a minute, but hardly an apology was given, and nothing was offered for the inconvenience. While we still wish we could enjoy the food, it is hard to handle consistently poor service and not being able to actually get what we order. Especially since the prices are not those of a value pizza place.

Our first experience was a Margherita Pizza delivered to our home and upon opening the box the HEAVENLY aroma from this incredible pie had my mouth watering. It was simply to die for! We also tried their salads and entrees as take out meals and were very pleased with the flavors and portions. For dining at the location we sat outside(they allow our dog) and enjoyed pizza and appetizers brought to us by a very attentive and friendly server. Papa Joe’s is now our go to for pizza and Italian food whether we choose to go out or stay in! Wonderful all the way around.

Yes. It’s been a long time since my last review. Almost 2 years. But much has happened … ’nuff said. It’s unfortunate that my experience at this joint was the experience that brought me back to Unilocal but when I have something to say I just need to say it. I and my wife and 5 year old son went to see Shaun the Sheep today. Which was great and another review is coming regarding the moving theater(which was very nice btw) and we marked that it would be a perfect stop to have a slice of pizza after the movie. So we did. We chose to eat inside because, well, it’s Florida and the inside was more predictable. We were seated quickly –not very busy on a Sunday afternoon. And the waitress was quick with the menus. She took our drink orders and seemed a bit curt to me(and yes, my warning sense went off) when all I asked for was water. As a manager of too many restaurants to count I know that this can be a warning to servers that we aren’t big spenders. It’s a Sunday. All we wanted was slices of pizza. So, no I’m not going to lay out 25 dollars for a bottle of wine. But I do know how to tip(I start at 20%). What did she expect? When she came back to take our order –a slice of pepperoni for my son, a slice of anchovy for me and a cheese calzone for my wife she remarked«that’s an easy order.» Our eyes met and I knew what she meant -«cheap». After much longer than it should take she brought the slices. Pepperoni for my son and a slice of cheese for me. Cheese. I looked at it and said, «anchovy?» She paused and said, «oh yeah. I’ll have him fix that» and picked up my plate. With a smile, I said, «I thought that was an easy order.» I think she agreed with me but she didn’t apologize. Which irked me more than anything else. That 20% that I started with? It was now a tenuous 15% because she didn’t even bother to check the order before bringing it out. Then, after my wife returned from her bathroom the calzone arrived. So, my son and wife ate while I sat –again much longer than I should have for just a slice. When it finally arrived she gave me a little thing of «extra anchovy» attempting to get herself back into good graces, but if anybody knows anything about pizza places and anchovies it’s hard enough to use them all up to begin with, so making it seem like she was doing me a favor was … embarrassing. And the«New York» style pizza was NOT New York. The dough was old and the crust broke like a burnt egg shell. New York pizza crust may be crunchy but it doesn’t shatter. The calzone was tasteless and the pizza was … an abomination. How do I know? My wife, who loves cheese and is Italian, didn’t eat more than a quarter of her calzone and my son didn’t finish half of his. HE’S FIVE! What five year old DOESN’T EATPEPPERONI?! He makes better pizza at home when it’s his turn to cook! And I’ve made enough pizza’s in my time to recognize an amateur in the kitchen when I taste their attempt. That 15? Was now an easy 10%. I’d had enough and we weren’t going to be eating anything else so when she brought the check(the only time we saw her after she left the food –didn’t bother to check to make sure everything was okay) I asked for a take out. When she came back SHE put the food in the box. I can’t say that she didn’t use her hands because I wasn’t watching –servers don’t put the foods in the boxes. That’s for the customers to do –unless it’s a high-end white linen place. At that point 5% was generous. And the take out box? Didn’t even have parchment paper in the bottom so the box got soggy. So, yes it was Sunday. But my philosophy is if the place isn’t good on one of the slowest days of the week, it’s not worth trying any other time.

First time visit. My Dad loves this place and it was Fathers Day. We went to lunch around 1pm. Was not crowed. Waitress was definitely new but tried so I won’t say anything negative on service. I had the Chicken Marcel. It was salty but was a good size portion. Dad had chicken parm and liked it. They had a lunch menu so prices was about $ 7.00 plate. If you want a side salad it’s about $ 1.95 extra but not worth it. It was a plate of lettuce with two olives, piece of onion, piece of tomato. Pizza looked good so if I ever ended back here that will be my choice

I been to Papa Joe’s many times. I own a Town Car Sedan business and when ever I go to the Sanford area to visit a friend and go out to movies at Amstar we make sure we go out to Papa Joe’s which is right next to the theater. The food is very good and the service is good also. I highly recommend this place. When my friend and I go out to the movies we decide where to eat and we end up at Papa Joe’s. I will return again.

Few pizzas can compare to the classic cheese and pepperoni pizzas at Papa Joes! This thin crust pizza had great flavor from the melty cheese to the semi-crunchy crust. The service was pretty good, took about 15 mins for the pizza to come out, and it came out piping hot. If you are looking for the best pizza place around, on a strictly taste basis, Papa Joes is it!

This is a neat pizza joint in Lake Mary. My coworker and I came here for lunch and the place was not very busy. The service: we got there around 1pm with the hope that the lunch madness would have ended. The place probably had a total of 2 tables and ours. I ordered 2 cheese slices and my friend had a calzone. The service was pretty slow, the waitress didn’t really come to our table to check how we doing. The food: my pizza was really good, it reminded me of NY style pizza. My coworker ate her whole calzone which means it was very good. Honestly for what we paid I’d recommend this place(2 slices and a soda for under $ 6, you can’t really beat that). My only criticism is the slow service but I can’t blames the waitress cause it depends on how many orders were ahead of ours in the kitchen. Other than that the place is legit and good.

The food was good but the waitress seemed to be very new and very new to the business of waitressing as well. It took forever to take our order because she fully wrote everything out. Have never seen that done in waitressing. Food came out at separate times so everyone was eating at different times. Order was incorrect in the sense of bringing more food than what we ordered… but she didn’t charge us for it and we were able to take it home when we weren’t able to eat it all. Cute location and you can get pizza by the slice. Overall OK place.

Cheese Bread Sticks are light and flakey. Great flavor. Red sauce was hot and tastes as if it was made today. Pizza was also full of flavor, hot and was very fresh. Great Papa Joes!

Pretty disappointed with our experience tonight. I’ve ordered from here several times, but ALWAYS pizza. For the first time, we ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs, and Chicken Parmesan. Wow. Both dishes were absolutely awful. The sauce was basically crushed tomato thrown on top of pasta. The meatballs had NO flavor. Super bland. and the chicken was mediocre at best. Although the pizza from this place is pretty good, I will not order from here again, since the rest of the food is terrible. So upsetting. I wish I could get a refund, since we didn’t even eat it.
