Wow what an amazing time! From live music, hot rod cars, amazing food, different cultures, Antelope Valley has really upgraded this year with the 2016 Poppy Festival. I had a great time. Good JOBAV! Thank you.

I’ve been coming to the poppy festival for years, and I have yet to have a bad experience. Overall it is pretty well run and very organized. Great job city of Lancaster! First off there are like a million teen volunteers in the free parking area to help you park accordingly and direct traffic. They have a couple trams that will pick you up at one of two stops and drop you off directly in from of the entrance. $ 8 for adults and $ 5 for kids 6 and older, not too bad for an entrance fee. I can usually score some giveaway tickets somewhere but actually had to pay this year. Booths and booths everywhere. There were a ton of food vendors. The sausage/hot dog vendor seemed to be the most popular stop, so that’s where I ventured to. You can say there was a sausage fest going on. There were like a gazillion crafts vendors selling your typical crafty type stuff. I usually get the kids something here as a souvenir. The kids carnival area is fun for the little ones. Bought the $ 25 bracelet for my daughter and she had unlimited reign to go on all the rides. Definitely well worth the price if your kids is going to go on at least 5 rides. The animal tent is cool. Lots of reptiles, birds, and other animals to see up close. There’s also a petting zoo, camel rides, giant slides for the kids, and little side shows. Oh yeah, there’s also a beer garden for those of you that like to get your drink on. Great family fun!

I took my child for the first time to the Poppy Festival. It was hot as hell and parking was a nightmare. We parked at the Mazda parking lot. They guys know us we are VIP customers so they said it was ok. The entrance fee is ridiculous. AV residents should have some kind of discount. Know I now why I never go every year and most people I know say they never go due to the entrance fee. The shops are great you can buy just about anything. The food prices are horrible. I was going to buy tacos and they wanted $ 2 for each taco. I decided after I was done with walking the festival I was going to Wicos for pizza which is not too far away from there. Take cash you will end up buying at least one thing. I hope the city reads my review and maybe consider reducing the price maybe that way more AV residents might want to come out and enjoy.

You know why I liked this festival? Cause it wasn’t the largest… Definitely not the most glamorous… And the rides weren’t the greatest… BUTTHEYDAMNSUREKNEWHOWTOKEEP A LINEMOVING!!! They kept everything MOVING, Unilocal! They kept the trams TO the festival moving. They kept the trams FROM the festival moving. They kept the ticket lines moving Entrance moving. Lemonade stand moving. Roasted corn line moving. Caramel apple line moving. Everything MOVED so you could have an opportunity to enjoy it all. Ahhhhhhh… don’t you just love instant gratification? Gotta give it up for the Poppy Festival. :slow clap:

It’s not some little puny thing. It’s massive. Like the size of a state fair. It’s AWESOME. Tons of booths and multiple stages for entertainment. The booths include food(yay!), games, businesses selling the wares, city of Lancaster things, and community outreach stuff. 2 hours wasn’t nearly enough time. It’s usually a full weekend(April 26 – 27 this year), but I’ll be sure to spend most of 1 day next year.
