Me and my husband decided to eat at Chronic Tacos because we have never eaten there before and wanted to try it out. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. The food does lack authentic Mexican food, it’s just too bland. You are better off eating at a taco cart that doesn’t charge you extra for avocado. I felt bad because there was a new employee there who was obviously a bit nervous because he was new. I guess he had charged us first and then went on to built my carne asada burrito. He had forgotten that they are supposed to charge more for guacamole, which I get it, most organizations do. The guy above him kept threatening to charge the new guy for it since it was his mistake! Poor kid was so nervous, I got up and told him I would pay for it and to not charge him for his mistake and he then proceeded to tell me that he wasn’t going to charge him and that he was only training him. But as I left, he continued to threaten to take it out of his pay. Really? For a dollar? Come on! Anyway. We ate the food– tasteless, bland, nothing special. I ordered the carne asada burrito which at first I thought was ground beef! But what they do is cut up the asada really small so they can get away with giving you less. The only thing that this place has going for it is the name. Other than that, I would never recommend it nor would I go back.

I used to love chronic tacos so much but I think they changed their carne recipe within the last year or two and now it’s horrible. Very disappointed because it used to be my favorite and now I wont even go there. I hope others are still enjoying this place.

This place was fairly good, but today was one of the worst, less meat, less fries less service, confused staff, means no more chronic tacos for me. When a business starts cutting down on what you normally get in your meal with the price unchanged, BAD.

My wife suggested one day. I walked in skeptical the staff was very nice and attentive that’s a plus in my book. The food was very delightful and decadent overall I say it was a satisfying experience. Chronic Taco is beating u know who

Know the mgr from the Saugus location. Friendly atmosphere. They have cut back a lot of the years. From a handful of cheese to a sprinkle. Eveything seems to be metered now. They kind of lost that WOW factor. Limited seating. But still yummy food.

It’s like a Chipotle restaurant, but with better guacamole and fresher cilantro. However, I think I like Chipotle’s chicken burrito a little better because of the way they season their meat. Still, Chronic Tacos uses a better(more authentic tasting) tortilla. I’ll definitely be back to try some more of what’s on their menu.

Wanted to try this place for the first time. Was craving tacos. My order was simple, 3 taquitos combo meal. Needless to say, they got my order wrong twice. Once the order was complete, went home and ate. Half way through my meal, I find a long piece of blonde hair in my food. The food was alright despite the hair but, I was so grossed out after finding the hair, I couldn’t finish eating it. I won’t be going back.

Go on Taco Tuesday and try the fish taco, baja style with a couple dashes of the gringo bandito! Yum, Yum, Yum!

In spite of the mixed reviews, this place is actually really good. My wife and I especially like the California Burrito as you can choose your meat and it has french fries inside! Also their 3 taco combo special is good too! It’s pretty gourmet Mexican food yet you can easily go in and out without having to sit at a table and etc. The reason for the 4 stars is because it’s quite pricey for a fast food category eatery. Also I really like fish tacos but it’s just okay here. But other than that– I highly recommend this place!

On our way to Palm Desert, we stopped in for a quick bite. It was an off-peak time, which made it easy and fast. Meats tasted good; not oversalted like many chain spots and the staff was very accommodating. Food: I ordered the al pastor salad(the salad option was a recent change according to signage) and thought it was good. Not very spicy as advertised, but a side of ghost pepper salsa remedied that situation right away. It’s always funny when I ask for the spiciest salsa(la mas picosa, por favor) and I get a raised eyebrow and an «Are you sure, sir?» in response. Yes, I’m brown and I can handle it. The missus had a chicken burrito, while the kids had a bean and cheese burrito and a chicken taco. No complaints about the food; it was warm and filled our bellies during the quick stop. Ghost pepper salsa was definitely a big plus in my book. Service: Friendly and accommodating; we had lots of special requests because one of my kids is particular about how her taco/burrito is constructed(she prefers to have the ingredients laid out for her so she can build her own — looking forward to her outgrowing that phase for sure). The staff didn’t care and didn’t smirk at the fact that a three-year-old had me wrapped so tightly around her little finger. For that, I was grateful. Family-friendly: Yes. See«Service,» above. Summary: Chronic Tacos fit the bill for our quick pit stop for a quick bite while on the road. I am not likely to frequent a chain taqueria given the many locally-owned and operated options, but it’s good to know my kids will eat here without complaint while on the road, which is no small thing.

This isn’t the place it once was. Like they say all good things come to an end. Portions are small prices are high and everyone in my family had over cooked meat. Boo!

really nice concept & great food :-) Taco Tuesdays are cool– but all the other days are fine too. Good chicken & Carne asada. Good pastor & carnitas. even tried the shrimp taco & they made it to order– yummy, Baja style. Get that Ghost Pepper sauce for that Super Kick!

I used to love this place because they hooked it up but now you barely get anything and your paying ridiculous amount in the food, you guys are pretty much one step away from chipotle

This is my first time here and they have a large selection and really good food. I think I am in love, the staff was friendly and patient while I read every inch of the menu. The décor inside is very fun and bright. The prices are fair as well. Deff will be coming back.

One of the finest Chronic Tacos to be found in an already superb Mexican food chain. I ordered a carne asada burrito. The meat was cooked dark, and crispy, just the way I like it. I also ordered a carnitas taco. The pulled pork was loose and savory. I like the artwork by Aggy adorning the walls. It is an interesting mix of ocean and desert images. The staff went well beyond being friendly and helpful. The store music consisted of hits played on the radio today. The dining area and restrooms were spotless. Mike Gleich did a great job setting up this Chronic Tacos. I’m glad I stopped up to Lancaster for a visit. You will too.
