I ordered the lo mein and it had no flavor. When it came out it was warm. The others that joined me just thought there meal was ok.

If you want a truly honest review here it is. I have been coming here fairly regularly for about 2 years. I have dined in, carried out, and had delivery. Carry out is always as expected, ready in about 20 mins and my order was never wrong. Delivery was also as expected, about 30 – 40 mins though I only had it delivered once. Dining in(which is how I usually do this place) is always a pleasure. Servers are friendly and know the menu well. So why not 5 stars? Because I did ONCE receive a spicy crab roll that didn’t seem very fresh. Also, I recently ordered their speciality Sakura roll and though it was overall very good, the lime was a bit overpowering. Same meal, though, my friend had the pgnang curry which was delicious and the soft shell crab appetizer was absolutely phenomenal.

Some of the best sushi in the Lancaster area. Quiet, comfortable atmosphere. Great special roll selection. We will definitely be back.

Let me start by saying, I have had the opposite experience as some who have complained about the level of service at this restaurant. My DH and I have been here twice, both times for take out, which would normally explain the issues with service. However, both times we have been treated wonderfully. The first time, it was about 15 minutes before closing when our order was complete and we picked up what we thought was our entire order. Unfortunately, there had been another order at the same time and one of our bags got mixed up and left behind. They called us as soon as they realized and kept open ten minutes after closing so we could come back and pick it up. While that may not sound like much, to us it meant everything. The second time was just the other day and we were greeted by the same nice woman who remembered my husband and gave us some extras to go with our meal, which was so very sweet of her, and she even raced out to our car to gift us with something additional. Not to mention the food itself is wonderful. The sushi is of great quality, and the tempura is crunchy and flavorful and my hubby swears he could drink the sauce. All in all, one of our favorite sushi places in Lancaster!

Stopped by the other day for lunch with my friend, and it was great! The restaurant is a little small, but it wasn’t crowded, so we were all set. We both shared two different types of sushi and they were both great, but my Garden Dragon(I believe that’s the name) sushi was delicious. Will be coming back!

I don’t recommend ordering food for delivery from Sakura, and absolutely do not use their online ordering service – it’s not reliable.(The website faxes the order to the restaurant, but Sakura’s fax machine wasn’t working when we ordered. Heaven knows where your credit card info ends up.) After calling the restaurant to check on our order one hour later and discovering it was never received, we re-placed our order on the phone and were told it would be about 20 minutes. It was just over an hour before it arrived. The delivery girl(and her driver/boyfriend?) claimed they had some other stops to make before delivering our dinner, and thus, our hot food was sadly cold. When we called to complain, we were told the order should have come directly to us, and we were promised a discount on the bill, but that didn’t happen. That being said, the food was tasty. We had sashimi, sushi(nigiri and maki), an avocado salad, crab rangoon, and miso soup. I was strongly tempted to order one of their Thai curries or soups, but that will have to wait for a visit to the restaurant – if I ever feel up to risking more poor service.

What a fantastic place to go with a family. The sushi was delicious, especially the sashimi. But more than that the staff was kind, welcoming and wonderful with my 2 and 4 year old daughters. The kids menu provided enormous portions of really good food with rice included for seven dollars. The shrimp lo mein and hibachi chicken were big hits. I would go back in a heartbeat, with or without my kids.

Gonna say right now, This restaurant has some pretty nice sushi but the service is really quite awful. A group of friends and I called to make a reservation for Sakura after the convention, the lady on the phone told me that since it’s full they didn’t know unless we go down physically and check. Now that is bizarre, but since we were hungry and because this Sushi is lauded as «the best in Lancaster» we did so. It was so cold outside but we dropped by and As expected it was packed. but not many people were waiting, so I asked them for a time estimate and they said 20 minutes. Because we were yelled at for«keeping the door open» we decided to warm up elsewhere and told them we’d be back and if they needed a name. They waved us away and said«Come back in 20 minutes!» We came back 17 minutes later and there was still no open tables, we decided to wait. Myself and my sister inside and the rest of my group of 5 waited outside in the cold. Another 10 minutes pass and Then a large group we havent seen before was seated before us and I went to inquire. The Waitress yelled at me that they were waiting for 10 Minutes and that they wont seat us unless our whole group was here. And shocked and appalled I retorted that we waited for 20 minutes and my friends were OUTSIDE in the COLD. And HAVEBEEN for 10 minutes. The Lady looked furious, pointed at me accusingly and said«FINE, then THEY wait». Not wanting to deprive this other group(of which its no fault of theirs) I replied that you should let them have it but let my other friends wait inside before they catch something but the Lady once again just yelled at us to get inside or no one gets a seat. We quickly went in. Safe to say she likely chose NOT to be our waittress. The Waitress we did get was polite and nice but not very efficient. We ate the food, enjoyed it, but my younger sis and I were still shaking from being yelled at by a Waitress/Host? who treated us like garbage. Why they dont take names for wait times is an anomoly, Heck even fastfood restaurants give you a number. That Lady is in luck though, The waitress that replaced her was much nicer and the food was better than average. Which is good or else things would have been ugly. Service is deffinitely not a forte and being yelled at was not what I wanted with my slightly overpriced sushi.

Great restaurant! Lovely atmosphere, reasonable prices, and AMAZINGFOOD! Our waitress was wonderful, she kept our glasses filled and talked us through our first sushi-eating experience(which was fresh and great, though we learned we are not sushi people). The soup was amazing, and the spring rolls were fantastic as well. We also ordered some lo mein and general tso’s chicken, and both were by far the best we have ever had. They were also very accommodating of a gluten intolerance that we had and made sure to double– and even triple– check with the chef that there was no gluten whatsoever in the meal. $ 75 for drinks and 5 meals. Overall, a strong 4.5÷5. We will definitely be returning for seconds! (Same review on Google)

I’ve gotten to eat here for the last few years while attending Zenkaikon at the Lancaster County Convention Center. This year I doubled up and ate here twice. Sakura is not a large restaurant but does have a decent amount of seating, if you have a group call ahead as during dinner I saw people who could not be seated. I was seated quickly for dinner and went with sushi. Picked three rolls that included Eel Avocado Roll, TNT Roll, and Fire Crunchy Roll. Eel Avocado was good as expected and the Fire Crunchy Roll had a unique flavor thanks to the Shrimp tempura. The TNT Roll was underwhelming as it was fried a little harder than I would have cared for. I stopped eating the outside of the roll at the end. Service was good for how busy Sakura was. The next day for lunch I intended to get some Issei Noodle, but they already had a 25 minute wait. Sakura was not busy at the time and went with more sushi. Waitress was lovely and saved me some money as two of the rolls I ordered are part of the Lunch special. Went with the Boston Roll, Philadelphia Roll, and Mexican Roll. Spring Roll that came with lunch was average. Boston Roll was almost a salad in a sushi roll, making it quite interesting. Philadelphia Roll was full of cream cheese and fish as expected. Mexican Roll has an interesting non spicy flavor that’s hard to describe but was good. Over the years this place has really grown on me and I enjoy the sushi. Service has also gotten better and it was time to give Sakura a full five star review.

Undoubtedly the best sushi in the area. Everything else is spectacular as well… Pad Thai, lo mein(a little spicy though — ask them to tone it down a little), sashimi, and hibachi. Order the edamame and some sake to start. If ordering sushi and it is crowded, be patient and receive quality. I recommend Million Dollar roll. Go there more than once and owners sure to remember you, your name, and ask updates on anything you discussed previous visit. Makes for great experiences.

I used to love this place ALOT but the quality has been going down steadily, lunch delivery is NOTFAST. Don’t order lunch unless you’re going into the restaurant. My favorite roll keeps getting sloppier and sloppier. My advice, try a competitor.

It’s a popular place for downtown workers. The food is good and the prices are fair. They have a decent menu selections offering both Chinese and Japanese foods to choose from. They have a bar and serve take out. Decorated tastefully but a little small for large groups. Friendly service people.

This review is solely on delivery. The food came in about 45 mins. Not too shabby I suppose. I had the sakura roll and snow white roll. The sushi was really mediocre and incredibly overpriced for the quality I’m getting, the total was nearly 30 dollars for 2 rolls… The sakura roll was served with orange not lemon, there was barely any avocado and I didn’t taste the wasabi mayo. The snow white roll wasn’t wrapped in soybean paper, it was just regular seaweed. I think I’d stick to wasabi from now on when it comes to sushi. atleast it’s cheaper and the quality is about the same.

When grandmothers offer to let parents go out for dinner, you go. Our attempt to find a table at Annie Bailey’s was unsuccessful, so we wandered downtown, comtemplating heading back out of town to Rice and Noodles. However, we stumbled across Sakura and made a night of it. First of all, on a Saturday night this place rapidly filled up by 8PM. We were lucky enough to grab a table w/o reservations, but that’s not generally the case after 8. Make reservations on weekends. Service was very good. Our server had to come back to confirm an order, but she kept the glasses filled and food was ready in a timely fashion. Ambience was likewise pretty solid. Dim lighting, quiet music, upscale settings. As for the food, appetizers were good… seaweed salad and spring rolls, both $ 5. For entrees, I poured over the menu– overwhelming– and picked the tri-fun…shrimp, chicken, and steak with mixed veggies in a brown sauce. The server said«great choice»…which got my hopes up… but, I have to give it an «ehhh» rating. Not the most flavorful meal. I wouldn’t quite call it a frozen-dinner offering, but it was just plain. My wife, on the other hand, picked a winner… pinapple curry shrimp. I never tasted anything so sweet with such a unexpected kick. Really good. Both were in the $ 15 range. I hate to lay waste to a resturaunt for a ho-hum meal, but I suppose the meal was my choice, so hence my problem… or is it? Shouldn’t every menu offering be a homerun? I guess, when it is all boiled down, that if I’m not jumping outta my pants to return, then I’m not hooked. I’m not hooked.
