Aldi is a great little grocery store with affordable essentials. Boxed and prepackaged goods are usually a lot cheaper at Aldi than your other local grocery stores. I’m not super impressed with their selection of fresh items, but when it comes to those I prefer a produce stand over a grocery store any day. Other than that, their selection is suitable enough to fill my kitchen cabinets. I like the quarter-cart deal they’ve got going on. Bring a quarter, get a cart. Leave your cart laying around just anywhere, you don’t get your quarter back. Put the cart back where it belongs(and where it won’t roll into my car) and get your quarter back. Pretty basic stuff. You do have to bring your own shopping bags, which is fine with me. A little going green never hurt anyone.

What I love about Aldi is the savings. They take the essentials and give you a break without reducing the quality. All the staples are there to fill your cupboard, and they offer a range of fresh items that are comparable to «regular» grocery stores. I find them to have better ground beef then most places in the area, too. Now this is a «rent-a-cart» and bag your own place, but that lack of convenience you make up for in savings.
