Meh. Office staff here is horrid. They are rude and don’t care. I had a refferal and didn’t even need one and they kept calling me saying I needed to cancel my appointments. Um. I have insurance and have been there before, I don’t need a referral. So then when I get to my appointment, again«your referral is not here!» so they call my GP and then the lady is like oh you do have a refferal for here, we just haven’t updated our systems yet… ok stop bugging me then! Just know if you actually need a refferal: lord forbid you better have it on file! signed sealed and delivered or wow! Dr. Hyson speaks to you all of four minutes. Well at least he did to me the two times that I have seen him. Whatever. Some days he is waaaaaaaaay behind and then seems like he is having a bad day. Some days he will actually come to the waiting room himself to greet you like a good friend. Thank goodness I only come here one or twice a year or seriously I would change immediately. He has some kind of revolutarionary migraine relief miracle kit you can buy. No thanks.

I was really impressed with the office staff while making my appointment. I referred two friends who saw him before me… They were not impressed. The man barely spoke ten words to me. Made me feel stupid, and I’m a nurse, when I was trying to explain my problem. They ended up doing expensive testing, when I tried to explain I think it’s something other than neurological. After testing I looked at my $ 200 shirt and there was blood and ink stains. I asked the front office for hydrogen peroxide to get the blood out, and was told they don’t carry that. I was to use soap and water. And then when I asked if he was going to talk to me, it was a no. They would send the results to my primary care in a few weeks. His bedside manner really lacks on all points. I will not go back, nor will my two friends. I was very disappointed in the whole visit. Thank you for ruining a shirt, and thank you for wasting my time.

I was having migraines for the first time in my life and not even realizing it. My general practice Dr. Referred me here, as Dr. Hyson is a migraine specialist sort of neurologist(awesome!) I brought with me my whole list of migraines: –how frequent –duration –where in my head –possible triggers? Based on each of these, he prescribed me a low dose daily med, an «as needed» med, and them recommended the kit he developed that is supposed to help in minutes(see my picture.) He really does know his stuff, right away my migraines became less frequent and the duration was shorter. I did have an adjustment period with one of the meds, but a month or two later I was back to normal. Now I know what my biggest trigger was(birth control), have gone off it to see how it affected my headaches, and now I do t have migraines ATALL!!! So if you need relief, start here, then get eliminating your triggers!
