I wish I could love this place a little more– ownership is trying hard to be an asset to the neighborhood by providing as many resources as possible to make it useful for nearby residents. It won’t replace a stop at the grocery, but being able to grab decent wine(priced the same as Total Wine, ie super reasonable), a selection of dairy(including fresh eggs!), and some small café items in addition to your usual convenience store staples is, well… convenient. They may not have a huge selection of brands/flavors for certain items(chips, sodas) but I like that their prices are on par with other similar shops, rather than raised for the«convenience» of not leaving the neighborhood. They also have a small dine-in area with a café menu, though I have yet to go by when it’s open. Unfortunately, at a place where great service can really make this place shine, I instead consistently encounter zombie-like disinterested cashiers. I also find the display case of glass pipes to be in extremely poor taste and a bit of a turnoff.

Looking for a quick chilled beverage: soda, beer, wine, Starbucks in a bottle, Naked Juice or Capri Sun, you’ll find it. The shelves in the aisles are sparsely stocked. There’s no hot food, no freshly delivered baked goods or donuts, and the coffee station when you go camping looks more appealing. I really wanted to report about The Lakes having a special store. I am sorry I am disappointed. There’s a 50 cent charge when you purchase less than $ 10 and use an ATM card No use of public restrooms. Wish List: The Mini Mart has potential. Great location in The Lakes. I hope the owners come up with a marketing plan and deliver a convenient, much more interesting small store to serve the community.

Great local business. Always a smile when you walk through the door.
