Giant Food

Shot out to the racist customer service rep, Susan, at self check that would rather hold a personal conversation on the sales floor instead of assisting me. Shout out to store manager, Donna, that brushed me off. Please Note: I’ve never had a bad experience until today

This place is only good when in a bind. I had horrible customer service when I went there. I wanted some lunch meat but the lady behind the counter was not at all interested in doing her job. She acted as if I ruined her day because I wanted both turkey and ham! Oh the humanity!!! WHHHYYYYY would I ever need both turkey and ham?!! I’ve never returned. Go elsewhere.

Like it yet dislike it… I come here ‘coz work gives us gift cards for Holidays. I prefer going to neighboring markets.. The distance from the end caps and the registers are way to close then they packed the area with more items here and there. Then, it causes insufficient space to maneuver from lines of carts with loyal customers waiting to be checked out.
Great 7 to 8 self-​check out registers plus 5 cashiers (in slow mode). ENERGIZE them. Annoying. Seems like they are deliberately slowing the process so you will move to the next available register. Finding out that the other cashier is also in the same mode or closing to have their break. So hilarious. This was 3 pm on a weekday now. Forget about weekends.
To be honest, I don’t see any uniqueness with other groceries. They all have same stuff others even better. Yes I know, I am not going back here.
Plus caution in the parking lot, cars backup without looking for pedestrians and no right of way here. Its senior citizen way or no way. Make sure you have insurance !

I’ve been shopping at this giant since I was in elementary school with my mother. I have seen it go through so radical changes. Some good, some not so good. For a grocery store in this area, this giant is always well staffed, and the service is friendly. The biggest downside is that it is always crowded! It’s hard to shop in peace without running into someone who knows me or my mom or a random person just looking for a chat. To save time and for a better selection I usually just make the drive to the burtonsville location. It is so much bigger and better organized, and less crowded!

Better stocked than Safeway in Laurel.

This store has all the departments (flowers, pharmacy) that have become part of the modern grocery «experience». Being in an old fashioned shopping center, it makes a good stop when you are combining errands. My only real gripe is that the lines can get long during rush hour surges.

Nice location. The store is clean and their 3-​day sales are awesome. The customer service of some employee’s at the customer counter lacks luster and that’s what will defer me from becoming a regular customer at this location. For the record, the customer service I received was fine, however the service that I witnessed provided to others was quite disappointing.

while in the area for the week I went to the nearest grocery store for a few items to prepare in the hotel microwave.
First thing I noticed was a fishy odor the moment I entered the store. The store itself was busy and well stocked. Lots of customers were preparing salads from the salad bar.
Noticed some shelf prices on items I buy back in Raleigh at Food Lion were less at Giant.
Overall pleasant experience.

Giant is a good old fashioned grocery store. You can find most things you want, but there is not much of the higher end items. Everything is very basic and while the prices are not great they are not terrible.
All in all this Giant is OK. There are stores in the area that have better prices but they don’t have the quality and there are stores in the area with better quality and more options but they have higher prices.
Shopping at Giant does get you some discounts at Shell on gas. So for your everyday items Giant is a good choice.

Place of choice for groceries. Almost never have a problem with anything I get there. And they have great discounts for Shell gas!

Walked in-​smelled like bad shrimp. Overpowering and overwhelming. Walked right back out.
