Wow. Don’t waste your time with this store. Seriously. The staff is rude and the store is filthy. About the only reason to go to the PX is to see the vendors outside near the Px entrance. I found old food in the men’s department and when I tried to get some assistance and I was told by an employee«not my problem».

Small but it has everything I need so no complaints here. Customer service is also a plus.

On the smaller side for an exchange but it has most of the things you are looking for. A small food court, barber shop and Starbucks add a little punch to its usefullness. The exchange is also located next to the commissary which is currently under going renovations.

No tax is great but considering that, for me personally, it’s over an hour away– I’d really expect more from a px. I actually took back a Coach purse and a pair of boots today that I got for Christmas. It’s honestly the first chance I’ve had to get up there. Shopping is never easy with small children and I’m seldom without them. The older lady at the customer service desk was horrible. I didn’t catch her name because I was wrangling two 2 year olds, but she was rude as hell. First of all she just couldn’t believe it had taken me so long to bring them back in. I explained that I had gotten them when we lived in Pittsburg(2.5 hours away) and I rarely came this direction and she said she thought I was out of the 90 day return date. Which I was not. Even if I was, that’s fine if that’s policy– but if I’m in it then just do the return and stop mentioning it over and over again. I felt like I was being shamed for returning. THEN when she asked my address, I told her my current address and she very accusingly said, «I thought you said you were from Pittsburg!?» Ummmmm, is this an interrogation? Pretty sure none of that is even your business? Just take the info and get on with it. I’m not trying to pull a fast one on ya lady. I AGAIN explained myself. Then she just couldn’t BELIEVE my husband had actually bought them at Fort Riley. Really? You’re a PX and you can’t believe a military husband would purchase a gift somewhere other than where your store is? It’s a px, it’s interchangeable and if it’s not– let’s just give me that info and I’ll leave, but I know it is. THEN when she scanned the items she breathed heavily and said, «SEE! THAT’S why we don’t do returns after 90 days(which it was NOT!), they’ve already been marked down!» Christ on a cracker lady! Do they take that money right out of your damn check or something? This woman needs a class on customer service if she’s going to be working ATTHECUSTOMERSERVICEDESK. I really have little to no desire to go back there. I’m sure everyone else that works there is just lovely, but if that’s acceptable service then it’s frankly not worth it to me. I’m returning an item, as far as I know that’s no crime but I was certainly treated like it was. Should’ve gotten her name, I’d love to see her reprimanded. Had I not been wrangling children maybe it would’ve had time to sink in while I was there and not steamed me so much as I was leaving and driving home.

This PX is more or less what you can expect from AAFES. The fact that there’s no tax is a nice benefit, but for the size of base that Fort Leavenworth is, it’s rather small. If you having a problem finding an item, or have a concern, don’t suffer in silence… go to the Customer Service counter and talk to them. They’ll do what they can to help. The staff, led by the very accommodating Manager, Ms. Curtis, is very nice, and they will honestly admit that they sometimes lack product knowledge. This refreshing honesty(and the fact that the next nearest AAFES is over an hour away) is what keeps me coming back.
