My favorite place to eat, drink and be merry. Homemade everything with lots of seasonal coffee and tea drinks. Susan and Michael have created a downtown oasis that makes me happy every time I go in. My mom and I meet for coffee weekly and there’s no place we’d rather go. Highly recommend

It’s hard for me to consider this place a «coffee house». I ordered a cup of black coffee and asked for dark roast. They pointed me to 2 airpots, both with their house blend — one regular and the other decaf. That’s it… one kind of coffee. It was not dark. It was not hot. And it was not very good. I also ordered a chicken wrap that was clearly just thrown together and microwaved. I’d much rather go to a local coffeeshop than Starbucks… but they have to deliver, and this one didn’t.

Great place downtown to study if you can stand the ambient noise. Free wifi, rewards card, friendly staff, and a great selection of drinks and pastries. I typically go with a refillable coffee for just under $ 2 and the breakfast sweet and spicy panini. Just tried their Italian soda and it was made with just the right balance of sweetness. Clean bathrooms and lots of available power strips along the walls.

A classy place. Very clean, attentive staff, and solid coffee. All you need in a good coffee shop. It’s surprisingly spacious. The surplus of Polish pottery shows the amount of class this place has. I live around the corner and can’t wait to be a constant patron of the Café.

Such delicious, well-made food and excellent service! I really enjoy the homemade cheesecakes and the quiet atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere so nice and reminiscent of small-town community!

My husband and I love coming here after our workouts. Great coffee, the breakfast sandwiches are yummy and made fresh. Haven’t had lunch there yet, but the cheesecake changes daily and looks so yummy! Cute décor, great to sit and chat for hours or do work. The owners are incredibly nice. I’m from the northeast so I love the lighthouse theme. I’m not very religious so the music sometimes gets to me, but besides that a great stop !

The food and desserts are great. The homemade cheesecakes are to die for. The chocolate cappuccino shake is my favorite drink. I give Harbor Lights three stars because I find the service to be sub par. The female owner never greets me with a smile and seems put off. I’ve felt that way for 10+ years.

I had lunch at this coffeehouse. They had a nice chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad was really good. The croissant was not very fresh but it was still good I would go back and try something else ther. Especially a cup of tea.

A lot of my friends love this place, unfortunately I don’t share their enthusiasm. Popular after school location for mid-schoolers getting a jump on their homework. Pleasant enough coffee place in downtown Leavenworth. It has a rec room feel to it more than that of a café or coffeehouse. I don’t understand the lighthouse theme or the mellow Christian sounding music piped in. Or maybe I do. Okay, so I’d have liked more hippie bohemian funky personally in a coffeehouse having lived in San Francisco. But that’s just me. This place is very nice nonetheless. I had a caffe latte which was freshly made and in a big pottery mug. Except for the loud woman on her cellphone it was very enjoyable stop.

The antidote to Starbucks, in terms of warm, cozy atmosphere… on a snowy day, this vintage building in downtown Leavenworth with its tall windows and drapes, chandelier, cozy warm lighting, huge dark wood paneled fireplace, and cozy chairs, is a welcome departure from generic chain McCoffee décor. WiFi is available, get the passcode from the lady at the register. Looks to be a really solid breakfast and lunch selection… egg dishes, soups, sandwiches, and a nice pastry case, too. I just had a coffee drink, a big, brightly painted mug of mocha with whipped cream, brought out to my table. Very nice people behind the counter… previous reviews note that it’s a family-run place, and it has that locally-owned feel. There appeared to be a mom’s group meeting there, as a whole group of baby-wearing moms with toddlers in tow left together about halfway through my cup. It looks like a kid-friendly place, with shelves of books and games in the back, but it’s also big enough that if you’re working on something or having a meeting, it seems easy enough to locate in a different part of the shop than the kid nook. Still, it might not be first pick for people coming here to get work done. Kids don’t bug me, though, so, all and all, I thought it was very cute and cozy.

Always my go to coffee shop when I’m in town. Great owners, so many homemade and fresh items. Practically any drink you can think to make they can make it happen. Chicken salad is amazing, and love their fresh brewed teas, apricot is my favorite. Definitely would recommend over any other coffee place. They use a french roast and it is always rich, but without the burnt taste! A must for my latte!

Love their coffee! I wish the food selection was a little better but I love hanging out here with a warm cup of coffee, catching up with friends in a comfy chair in front of the fire. I highly recommend above Starbucks etc any day! I only take a star off because I’d like to eat a meal here too. But they are amazing at what they do! Check it out.

I really like this place. I could just sit and drink here all day. Conduct meetings, meet friends, anything. The staff is super fiendly and the prices are excellent. The bakery items are very tasty with a decent selection. Its my stop on the way to work when I am traveling to leavenworth.

If this is the best coffee shop in Leavenworth that says more about Leavenworth than it does about this coffee shop. Nice folks, lots of choices. Sadly, the chicken salad and latte excellence I was hoping to find, I did not. Perfectly fine on all counts, but not great on any.

I’ve been eating here for about 10 years. I’m hooked on their chicken salad sandwich. Literally, that’s the only thing I’ve had on the menu. I’m also a fan of their daily iced teas(apricot, Earl Grey, etc.).

This is the place to go for a leisurely afternoon when you have no appointments to rush to and have your schedule wide open, to do nothing at all. Its great for groups, great for pairs, great if you’re alone and just want to chill out by yourself. Its cosy and unobtrusive, simple wood paneled décor, plenty of booth seats. I had the café latte, my usual order in any coffee joint, and carrot cake. The cake was good, a notch better than chain stores like Starbucks. Richer, smoother. The coffee was average. I wouldn’t say its bad or weak, but I’m not a picky coffee drinker really. I wanted to try the soup, but it wasn’t available on the day I was there. Pity.

I want to like this place. I really do. I love the family-owned aspect and the family friendly environment. The sandwiches are also pretty good. The fact remains, however, that if you have«coffeehouse» in your name you should be able to provide a higher-than-average cup of coffee. That, I have not experienced at Harbor Lights. I keep forgetting to watch them prep the shots, but have noticed that the last 4 visits have been plagued with an incredibly weak shots. I typically go for a latte with 4 shots in a 16oz cup. It tasted like it had 2. It’s that weak. The last issue, and yes, this is somewhat nit-picky, they don’t have natural sweeteners, such as sugar in the raw or stevia. I’ve brought it to the attention of the staff just to see what they’re reaction would be. I’ve been pretty much blown off every time. I don’t mind being charged a premium price for coffee, but I expect a premium experience.

Discovered this place from fellow students attending courses at the Leavenworth. It’s worth it. Great sandwiches and soups. Atmosphere is cozy and very friendly. Hard working staff/family(I support family-run businesses that have good service). It’s has a good rep on base and in the school house. It’s very comfortable to go there in the winter time where the fireplace can keep you warm. The place seems to exude a relaxed atmosphere. Top it off with a nice cup of their joe and it’s all good. Desserts are decent too. They are located in the front counter glass display(ref photo). Try the lemon bars — they are pretty good. Updating my post: Came back in Mar 2013. Still a great place to have a sandwich. The quality and service are still great. I was told by one of the staff that they now are making their own deserts. Still miss the lemon bars — haven’t seen that item during my TDY.

Very cozy! Great coffee that is served in mismatched European pottery which gives it a real homey feel. Delicious menu that is varied enough to give you choices but not to many that it is overwhelming. They also have a great selection of baked goods(chocolate silk pie, apple, cherry, lemon meringue, cinnamon buns, brownies, etc) but we haven’t made it in for dessert yet. My husband loves their peach smoothies… We found this place last week and have already been there four times! The atmosphere is great… they have two bookshelves full of board games and books. Can’t wait to go when this winter when they fire up the fireplace!
