Regional Home Care makes a practice of routinely lying to patients. They’re not horrible to work with overall, but they can be careless, and I’ve caught them in several outright lies. And the lies are what eventually drove me away. First, the routine lies: they have an automated calling system to encourage you to order supplies, and it starts its greeting with«your doctor and insurance REQUIRE information on the use of your equipment». In my case, neither part of that is true, and they know it. Second, the non-routine lies: I was told«your insurance isn’t paying» when, in fact, my insurance was paying. Third, the careless(and greedy): in less than a year, they screwed up at least four supply orders, and they kept sending unneeded and unordered filters.(Why? Because they’re so high-margin.) Fourth, the poor communication: they decided to sit on one supply order while they waited for a form from my doctor, but they never bothered to tell me about the delay. No mention of «your account is on hold». No «this make take longer than usual». Just no shipping of supplies. And in one case where I had specifically said«I need this order to be billed by day X for insurance reasons», they got it out late, again without saying a word. On the good side, they(can) provide top-quality equipment, they’re moderately quick to ship supplies in most cases, they don’t charge separately for shipping, and they’ll pay for return shipping when they’ve made a shipping error. Is that enough to make up for the lies? I don’t think so, but your mileage may vary.
