My favorite Lexington hibachi spot located in the heart of Hamburg. The shrimp tempura roll is by far my favorite here. I typically get the chicken and/or steak hibachi. With lunch you can get soup or salad with it. At dinner you get both. They also serve a piece of shrimp in this garlic spice with your meal that’s tasty. Reasonably priced and the service is good as well. The only thing I would change is seating your party at hibachi even if your whole party isn’t there yet.

Poor presentation and entertainment. Food mediocre. Cook was in a big hurry. Fried rice was on the grill 2 minutes and was barely warm much less fried brown. Zero Japanese families in here tells you something(In Toyota’s back yard). I will not return.

I am annoyed. I love sushi. I really love good sushi. And I love Toro(fatty tuna), but it is hard to find. When I saw Toro on the menu, I was excited. The husband ordered some spicy tuna rolls and a regular tuna roll. I ordered the Toro, eel and the soft shell crab. Every thing took so long. I get it, it takes a while to roll sushi for people, but 30 minutes?!? When we finally receive our plate, I look over at the Toro which was not cut uniformly. Then when we went to eat it, it was frozen, literally. It made my teeth cold to the point it hurt. Then the Toro had a chewy texture and a overly fishy flavor. When I pointed this out to our server, she suggested we wait and eat it at the end so it can thaw.(Are you kidding me?!?) This is $ 14 for 4 slice of tuna. I expect this to be amazing. Good Toro is like eating a tuna pillow, fluffy, good mouth feel and just amazing. This was not it!!! I know they didn’t want to take it off the bill because it is expensive. The server told me it had to be flown in from japan, then frozen since not many people order it. If the tuna isn’t ordered much and you can’t seem to serve it right, TAKEITOFFTHEMENU! The other rolls were ok. Not the best in town, but not bad. This place gets 2 stars because service was soooo slooow and the Toro just made me angry.(Rant over)

Very standard Japanese grill. The service was ok, our chef was oddly quiet and seemed to be concentrating on not burning our food(I’m ok with that!) more than engaging our party. To his credit, my entrée was cooked well and fairly tasty. The sushi was average, as were the other appetizers we tried. The décor was more upscale than typical — more fine dining than others — and the dining room smelled nice and not«grilly» and was clean and well laid out. The one thing that stood out was the shrimp appetizer(that our chef cooked last, oddly, after coming back from the kitchen so I’m guessing he almost forgot it). It is cooked on a bed of what tasted like roasted garlic and a little bit of panko and it was very, very good. There are a lot of options for Japanese food in Lexington. This one is solidly in the middle of the pack.

Trying this place again as my last visit was not that great. This time we sat at a grill and the experience was much better than just sitting at the bar as far as food quality and taste. I had the steak and scallops. My steak tasted good but the portion was not very good at all. The portion of scallops I thought was fair but the amount of rice and veggies were also very small. Not what you would expect for a $ 24 plate. Also had some sushi rolls which were really good. It was $ 2 off per roll Wednesday so the added discount on the bill was a surprise as we missed the promo when ordering. The prices are higher than other Hibachi grills I’ve been to in town but I do live right across the street. Still not sure that’s enough to make me come here often. Try it out your experience may be different.

Sushi was fresh and good quality… rolls are nicely made and presented. The Habitachi was not bad but portions were small for the price… IMHO..

The address on Google Map was misleading and led us to Iching(an Asian restaurant at the other end of the same plaza). We arrived after 8:30pm on Friday and perhaps because of the basketball game there were not many people. So the parties at the hibachi table could be heard, but the noise was moderate. The tuna, sea bass and sea eel sashimi were good. The cut was small but for $ 5.95 per order(3 pieces), I would say it is fair. The free miso soup that accompanied the sashimi was tasty without being too salty. The breaded and fried oyster app was pretty tasty. The sushi roll was excellent with just enough heat from the jalapeño and just enough texture(added to the chopped tuna) from the green fish roes on top. See photo. All dishes were presented beautifully. Our server did an adequate job. The ambience is very much what one can expect in a busy shopping plaza. Will return if in the area again.

When Paul mentioned wanting to go to a hibachi place, I thought, «Oh, no.» Honestly, if you’ve been to one Japanese steakhouse you’ve been to all of them. It’s rare that he states a preference, so I kept my opinion to myself. $ 90 later, I wish I had pushed for Crust. The best parts of Asuka are the excellent service and the shrimp appetizer that comes with hibachi meals. They serve it on a small bed of grilled garlic that is pretty amazing. My avocado roll was also very good. The worst parts are the skimpy portions, bland friends rice, under seasoned proteins, and the looks-like-mustard-but-does-not taste-like-mustard-should-be-ginger-but-no-taste-of-ginger mystery sauce served with hibachi meals. Usually we leave a place like this with leftovers for the next day’s lunch, but as I mentioned, they skimped.

Food is pretty good. Restaurant is big and open but since they have a few Hibachi tables it gets too rowdy and since there are no walls it is very noisy for those that came for sushi. I’d come back during less«festive» hours. Overall: good American Sushi.

This place would get top stars except for the fact they have a strict no extra Panko shrimp policy. Can’t seem to get an explanation as to why but they will not budge off of this rule. The shrimp is served as a side with the Hibachi but not available for purchase under any circumstances. In fairness the food and the Panko shrimp is amazing. The sushi is also very good. The service is also very good! We have come here several times just for the shrimp and they are never flexible with extra shrimp. If they change this policy I will gladly give them five stars as the best Hibachi in Lexington. Their lack of flexibility with the menu translates to my lack of flexibility for a higher score.

Solid sushi. Hurricane roll was delish. Will definitely be back. Want to try the crab Rangoon roll because it is a favorite of mine at another place. Think I may go back today, it really is that good.

Have always enjoyed our meals here. I reccomend sitting at the grill, as the food is much hotter and tastier right off the grill. Servers sometimes have some confusion, but overall we really enjoy dining here.

OK, now I had never been to a Hibachi grill, ever! My son, after watching a movie that had one in it(yeah that’s how you get a kid to come to try a place) he decided he wanted to try one! This is the closest one to my house so we decided on this place! It was delicious! The food was great… I wish I got to take a picture for you, however I was too intrigued with the events at the grill to worry about you guys! Yeah, sorry! :D He did the lighting of the grill on fire! Everyone at my table was like, whoa! My son loved it! It is a great place to entertain kids. I also have the most pickiest kid in America! But he tried the Teriyaki chicken, and loved it. I got the steak option and he loved that too! Yes, so what did I eat, well the scraps of course! It was a really nice experience. I hope to go back sometime soon! This time with my daughter in tote, she will eat more than the boy, but she was kinda upset she wasn’t with us the first time! The chef was entertaining and my son was all smiles! The waitress was excellent, however it did take a bit longer because after they sat us down, no one turned on the grill, so we had to wait for it to get hot. But accidents happen and so I didn’t knock them for that one! I can’t wait to bring my entire family back! Next time I want to try thier sushi as well!!!

Consistently great sushi – high quality fish, unique rolls, and artful preparation. It’s such a convenient location and has become our go-to sushi in Lexington.

Asuka has really good sushi in a great romantic atmosphere. I came here for the first time just a couple of weeks ago on a Wednesday evening as I had heard about their $ 2 off sushi deal on Wednesday’s. I made a reservation, but it was 5:30 and when we got there we clearly didn’t need a reservation. Although as we sat and ate our meal, it got a lot busier. The $ 2 off deal is good on any sushi roll including the special rolls. We ordered too much, but it was all really good and we ended up eating it all! It was a nice touch that they gave us free miso soup!

Hold onto your seats, ladies and gentlemen(and everyone in between.) This is my first review as a member of the Elite Squad and I am flashing my badge allllll over the place. As soon as I walked into this establishment, I looked at their Best Restaurant Award from 2014 and I told my boyfriend, «I knew that; I’m Elite.» After showing my ’15 badge and assuring the hostess it was okay to approach me, we were seated at a grill. First, might I add.(We were the first people there, but still, I know how this Elite thing works.) I think it should be added that I have never been to a hibachi place before and I have never had Japanese food before — besides(limited) sushi. I’ll start off with service because the food has to be saved for last — otherwise I’ll start drooling and seeing the lights again and I can’t finish a review like that. The waitress and chef were both quite pleasant. The waitress had refills before my glass was even half empty and she was very polite. But, she wasn’t annoying or there too much. It’s a fine line and she didn’t cross it. The chef had fun with a particular little girl — I’m pretty sure they became their own manzai — creating laughs and gags throughout the meal. The actual art of the making of the food was amazing and entrancing to watch. Now the food. Folks, I don’t ever say this kind of thing, but I am pretty sure this is one of the top two best — if not the best — food and dining experiences I have ever had. I can honestly say that I haven’t had better chicken or shrimp anywhere. This is competing with my Disney World five-star restaurant experience. I don’t usually eat much, but this is the kind of food you can’t stop eating for sheer pleasure of the taste. Oh, get the fried rice. My boyfriend made sure I did and I see why he did. And from someone who never uses sauce but was made to: Use the Yummy Yummy sauce. I give five stars because this is as good as it gets; great service and absolutely delicious food. I do indeed recommend this. [DISCLAIMER: The first two paragraphs are the review are, indeed, satire. No special treatment; no badge to show.]

Always very good sushi. We really like the atmosphere at the Hamburg location. The one in Brannon Crossing is not very desirable. The Brannon Crossing atmosphere feels to much like a cafeteria. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is I feel they have a limited menu. I wish they would step it up and have more broad dinner options. I know it is the set standard menu for most typical hibachi grills.

Nice lunch spot when you get sick of the same old. $ 10 special includes entrée, rice, veggies, and soup or salad. I ordered the salmon with a salad. The salad was not good. The ginger dressing was ok but it was a bitter, white iceberg lettuce. Blah. But everything else was very good. I’ll definitely go again(but I’ll order the soup!)

Let me start out by saying I love a good Japanese Restaurant, but I hate leaving smelling like a hibachi grill. This place did not disappointment me. I had met a friend there for lunch and we were seated far away from the hibachi so we didn’t stink. That alone earned them a star. The other 3 stars comes from the great service of our waitress and awsome food. I ordered udon noodles because I am somewhat of a noodle addict and by jiminy it was yummy. The broth by itself was so tasty, I could have probably just drank it. It also came with a side of tempura shrimp. The batter of which was so like and crisp. I will have to go back to this place at some point. I really recommend it.

Our oldest son asked for Sushi for his birthday dinner. My other two children looked like they were going to die if they had to partake in sushi so I opted for a Japanese Steakhouse. This place is newly opened in the old Billys BBQ location in Hamburg and is the second location for this restaurant(original is in Brannon Crossing). The remodel looks fantastic and it was nice to see a 100% on their health inspection when walking in. We were seated quickly and I think we scared the older couple that we shared the grill with, well at least at first. Once the chef arrived he started chatting, laughing and before we knew it, the older guy was telling us about how he missed Half Life(if you’re a gamer, you’ll understand) and we all started talking. The soup arrived, then the salad and then the chef. All on par of any place you’d visit here in Lexington. What made me smile was the little extras that they did. My seven year old always asks for chop sticks and I always forget to bring a rubber band with me to fix them for him(I know I am ashamed). This time they brought out children’s chop sticks and I looked like super mom and my kid was thrilled to sit and try to eat his rice one piece at a time with is new found independence. I will admit, this is the calmest and quietest I’ve seen him at a place to eat which made my dinner so much more enjoyable. Our chef was skilled and very funny. He does all the standard tricks and typical show. He talked to us, the kids and he answered many questions the kids asked. Overall the food was very good. I prefer my steak medium rare and he was spot on. The rice was very good, not over done or under cooked. They gave us a complimentary shrimp that they cook in a garlic breadcrumb coating on the grill. It was very good and luckily two of the kids refused it touch it, so more for the husband and I. Everyone else in our party of seven devoured their food and had no complaints. Our bill totaled, tip included $ 180, no alcohol, one order of a Spicy Crab sushi roll, and dinners.
