The Good: the customer service, coffee, lemon bars, local art. The Bad: nothing I can think of The Rundown: this is a small coffee and sammich shop where the service is amazing. The two owners are really nice and make small talk with their guests in a way that truly makes you feel welcome. Their coffee is delicious and they have a variety of great teas for you to try as well. Their breakfast sammiches are the perfect size and taste great, especially on a croissant. They have local art covering the walls and are looking for new submissions as well. The art is for sale so if you see something that catches your fancy it’s yours for a small fee. The Rundown: this little coffee house is one that I plan to frequent whenever I’m in the area. The people are nice and the restaurant and store has a really nice vibe to it. I would strongly suggest giving this place a look.

I stopped in High on Art & Coffee on this beautiful April Saturday and had some great small talk, along with a delicious smoothie! The fresh baked goods looked very tempting in their glass case, as with all the ice cream flavors; but I went with a blueberry-strawberry smoothie with greek yogurt and almond milk.(Kind of wish I got a muffin to-go). For the smoothies there are a ton of fruit options to choose from, as well as peanut butter, avocado, and chocolate. Their menu also features lunch items as well– sandwiches and sides all reasonably priced. The people who run HonA&C are very welcoming and likeable, and the smoothie was delicious. I will be going back soon for lunch!

I went to a hidden treasure for lunch with a co worker, High on Coffee & Art has the friendliest couple that own the shop. They have just about any coffee drink you can imagine, teas, milk shakes, ice cream – the list goes on. I’ve included their menu to give you a sneak peak! They have an assortment of great picks for breakfast and lunch! All the employees on High Street are lucky to be so close to this place. Also– they are dog friendly!

I just moved to Lexington a few days ago, and High on Art & Coffee reminded me why. Unlike those coffee shops where you’re made to feel guilty for interrupting the barista’s phone scrolling and you’d be lucky to get eye contact and a hello(you know who you are), this little gem on E. High St makes you feel like you’re family from the moment you walk through the door. Tim and Ellie(the owners) both went out of their way to fill me in on events happening around town and made me feel so welcome. It is clear they care deeply about their business and everyone who is a part of it. Recommended: Blue Eyes iced Tea and gluten-free snickerdoodle with chocolate chips :)

We were visiting my brother for family weekend and desperately needed coffee. I found this place on the way back to campus. It’s a cute local place with tons of different kinds of art. Obviously not for everyone’s taste but some of the photos were really beautiful. The café was what we were after and they did not disappoint. You can get pretty much anything you want– type of coffee, type of milk and the flavors are super interesting! I had a coffee that tasted like a muted creamsicle. YUM. The husband and wife duo are as sweet as can be and made very pleasant conversation while we waited for the coffee. I have their rewards card and I’m holding onto it for the next time I visit!

This place is located a few doors down from Wooodland Park and is fairly new. It is a really cute shop that is jam packed with local art and products. I believe they said 133+ people are selling/displaying their wares here. I support any place that does this. I am all about the Shop Local Movement. This would be a great place to go and buy a last minute gift for someone or yourself. They have a great patio out back that is extremely inviting. The owners are super nice. As I was told the the man takes care of the coffee/food/ice cream and the wife handles all of the art/products. They make a perfect pair. They are very friendly and easy to chat with. On this day, I met my friend there for coffee and a snack. I ended up having a Bacon Peanut Butter and Jelly and an Americano. Yeah I said BACONPBJ. It was so good. Nothing fancy but so yummy. While there, we also found out that every tip they receive there goes directly to a non profit that is responsible for buying service dogs for veterans and children. Such a worthy cause. If you are in the area, stop in and see them. It is a great little shop.

This place has very dank snacks and a good BLT. Awesome patio spots outdoors. Good coffee relative to most cafes in the area. Great value. Good native art.

This place is wonderful! I went to visit with my husband and some friends. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. The brand of coffee they carry is also well great! They make things pretty hot(which I like). Their patio was so cute! It’s perfect weather right now! Check out all the cool local art inside! Please check this place out and show them some love!
