This is a great library location — it’s the first we’ve been to in Lexington, so the others might be great as well.
Here are some of the things we like about this branch:
— large children’s play area, big selection of kids’ books and movies
— the checkout process is computerized and doesn’t require a librarian
— CDs and most movies are free to check out (recent releases are $ 1 I think)
If you’re new to the area and want to get a Lex library card, make sure you bring proof of your residency — they’re sticklers for that while our last place wasn’t. But getting a card here is also computerized and pretty fast.
For families with kids, this is a great spot — if you want a quiet branch without kids, you might want to check out another spot.
