My love took me here for a late Valentine’s Day dinner. It was delicious. I ordered a small filet done to medium, a baked potato, and the Lexingtonian salad. Everything was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was very attentive. No complaints here. Most definitely will be back. Thanks for a lovely evening!

I came to Malone’s as a party of 5 on a Saturday evening with reservations at 6:30. We were sat and immediately brought water, bread and butter(brownie points, check). However, we weren’t greeted by our server for a little over 10 minutes(brownie points, deducted). We ordered the calamari and spinach artichoke dip to start. The spinach artichoke dip was one of the best I’ve ever had, but the calamari was just so-so. Everyone in my party ordered a steak of some sort and I ordered the salmon piccada. Everything came out perfectly cooked, although the runner mixed up my parents’ steaks and they didn’t ended up realizing until a couple bites in(mom got the medium rare, dad got the medium) but it wasn’t a big deal. I was so full from the apps by the time my meal arrived I could barely take 3 bites! Wish I had saved room because my salmon was perfectly crisp yet fell apart when I stuck a fork in it. Overall, the food was delicious, service was okay — our server was relatively awkward(I’m guessing a college student) and was visibly perturbed a couple of times when we were indecisive with our orders. Additionally, our table was situated towards the very back where the servers hung out, so every now and then during dinner I’d peer behind the glass window separating us from the servers and I’d see a server leaning over the window staring at our table. With those few bumps aside, I’d come to Malone’s again.

David was our server and he was fantastic! Although we watched all of the servers and they all seemed like they were on their game too. Both my husband and I had the 16 oz prime ribeye, cooked exactly as ordered, medium rare and medium respectively. I highly recommend the Gruyère potato croquettes! We also had the potato skin fondue which were also a delight. Wasn’t disappointed, can’t wait to return!

I went to Malone’s tonight for a dinner work meeting with four of my associates. It was 17 degrees outside, but inside there was a fire and it was warm and cozy. Our server was great, staff was friendly, environment was clean and pleasant. I had Salmon with dill sauce with Potato Croquettes. It was perfectly cooked at medium, dill sauce was spot on, not too overpowering. It was a very pleasant meal. Even the family style bottomless salad was enjoyable, and I usually do go in for that. I took a side of the Sweet Potato Pecan casserole home along with a piece of banana cream pie. The pie is fantastic. I have yet to eat the sweet potato but based on what I have tried already, and heard from my coworkers, I can’t imagine it will be a let down. Definitely someplace I would go to again for a nice meal when I am in town.

We went down to see BIGBLUEUK basketball Vs Eastern game on wenesday. I asked a bunch of people where a great steak house is in Lexington, everyone recommended Malone’s Steakhouse. so my wife Toey and I got there at 4 pm before tip off. So onto the order they came out with bread, it was really good. I want a great steak, so I asked the waiter what is the best steak. he said the blacken ribeye medium rare. and my wife ordered the filet and king crab leg. she ordered medium. I told her to order rare, but she wanted medium, I said ok. well her steak was dry and tough. she started to eat my steak and she love it. There mash potatoes was great. they even gave us free desert. overall great service and great food.

We had an event to attend in Lexington and needed to fit in a birthday lunch so we did a little research online and picked Malone’s. We arrived right at their opening time of 11:15 am. We immediately sensed that they were ready to go… none of that rushing at the last minute scuttle. The place had a lot of patrons within the hour, obviously a local favorite. The four of us were sat at a booth and we kept having to consolidate food in order to get rid of plates in order to have enough room. I really liked that water automatically came to the table. We started out with the baked potato fondue. Very yummy and enough to dip the excellent bread into as well. The Lexingtonian salad is worth getting. Tasted fresh, was good and cold and it is bottomless. Steaks were cooked perfectly to order. The baked potato… Huge! One of our party got a club and said it was one of the best clubs they had ever had. Service was professional, efficient and accurate. We NEVER had to ask for drink refills. The menu has a good selection of pricey high end steaks if you want to splurge and yet more modestly priced fare if you don’t want to spent that much money. I would welcome one of these restaurants closer to home!

Solid(but not exceptional) service for 8 people. Everyone was pleased with their order. Steaks cooked perfectly. Food that was supposed to be hot was hot; food that was supposed to be cold was cold. Flavors of all were excellent. The only criticism is that even the back room was loud making conversation difficult.

I Love Malones The service rocks, the food is delicious and I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. I go there every year for my birthday and for almost any other occasion where I can find an excuse to come back. I love it. The fried chicken sandwich, burgers, sushi, steak, mahi mahi are all delicious. I feel bad that I almost always get the same thing because I’m sure everything else is just as great. I’ve been going to Malone’s for almost 8 years and I love it more and more every year. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Lexington.

So a friend took me to Lexington and told me this was a must go to! It’s at the top of the list for native Lexingtonians(I made that up. But with all the Southern hospitality, I don’t think they’ll mind!) So here’s my tip, it’s a steak place, of course it can get pricey and in the evenings you’ll need to dress up a bit. So, if you want the experience, in a more relaxed atmosphere, go for lunch! We went for lunch and chose to sit in their outdoor patio bar, called Drake’s. They’ll even bring you the same menu from inside if you’d like. But trust me, you won’t need it. Their bar bites aren’t typical bar bites, they’re entire meals, freshly made with fresh meat and veggies and everything else. The menu has salads, soups and plenty of sliders. You get three sliders and fries as a typical portion. The cool thing is these aren’t your typical sliders. My friend ordered buffalo chicken sliders. The heat level was just perfect! The chicken was fresh and the seasoning was honestly great; probably my favorite buffalo chicken I’ve ever had! I ordered beer battered fish. Again it was great! The tartar sauce is on the side which was a nice touch. The fish didn’t get soggy. The patio outside is covered and there’s plenty of tvs The tables are very ample and the chairs are sturdy constructed such that your legs don’t just dangle at the high tops. There’s a little fire circle too, I’m sure it’s a blast in the fall. If I were to identify a weakness, I would say it’s the service. Our server wasn’t overly attentive and it wasn’t very full. But my friend who spent years in college working there assured me inside, the service is top notch. We may have just caught the server on an off day.

I’ve always been a fan of Malones. I think some of the attention to detail has slipped as they’ve opened more locations. We generally come to Tates creek as it is the original. I love the Lexingtonian salad. It has to be the best homemade ranch hands down. The steak prices have definitely increased a lot in the past couple years as the 8 oz filet is now around 35.00. We use to splurge on our anniversary each year for this but now I just do the twin filets as those are just as delicious. The Mac n Cheese is so cheesy and scrumptious! They have a great salmon dish That I enjoy as well. A little tip is you can ask for a Lexintonian salad to go after your dinner and they will pack it up nice and put the bacon, tomatoes and ranch in separate containers and boom! You have lunch the next day.

This is my favorite steakhouse in Lexington. The bottomless salad(iceberg lettuce, tons of bacon, tomatoes and ranch dressing all mixed together) is to die for! I seriously LOVE the salad. The crab Rangoon roll is delicious and different. They stopped serving the best crab cake I’ve ever eaten, and I’m still sad about it. I have had crab cakes all over the U.S., and none came close to Malones’. I am hoping they will see the error of their way and add it back to the menu. Also, I like the buddy system the waiters use. You have a «main» waiter and a «backup». This makes it nearly impossible for your drink to go unfilled. And, I prefer the Tates Creek location to the Hamburg one. I just feel like it’s cozier.

We were there for dinner when just before we arrived our van broke down. We had it on loan from a friend and we were now stranded. The manager here was so kind. Their courtesy shuttle took our son back to campus for a final exam, and then took us to our hotel. We were so grateful! Dinner was great despite all the phone calls for rental cars, etc., great service and Coach Cals chicken was perfect. Hopefully next visit will be a bit smoother. All the servers were understanding of our situation. Thank you!!!

Our server was fantastic but the letdown started with the 45 minutes wait from order to service. The quality of the food was our next disappointment. My son and I both had the Ribeye and the cuts were terrible which surprises me since the were advertised as Prime cuts. Both were cooked medium when ordered medium rare. Potatoes were undercooked and hard. The customers at the table next to us were having a similar experience and they left before finishing their meal. Not sure I would return.

I only chose five stars because I didn’t get the choice of 6 or 7. I went twice within a week to see if they are consistent. Once at lunch and once at dinner. Both were amazing. I highly recommend the 6 oz filet with Béarnaise and the potato croquettes. Oh my!!! Heaven! There are always two to three servers for you. They know the options and have passion in their voice when sharing. My water glass never got more than half empty. Pampered! Lunch is fine, but you might want to make reservations for dinner. Packed!

First off, the kobe burger is great. Thing is, I can get it at Drakes… so not sure how to proceed with this review other than what turned out to be one of the most awkward lunches I’ve ever had, ever. What really soured me was having my parents visit. We’d been looking for a good burger for lunch and my favorite place only does dinner service… so remembering the good kobe burger, we drove to Malones. What ensued was literally 25 minutes of rambling from our waitress about her life’s problems and shortcomings. We were planning on doing two bourbon distillery tours that day… but our lunch went for an hour and a half due to this waitress hovering over trying to talk about her problems to my mom’s way-too-sympathetic-and-just-trying-to-be-polite-while-trying-to-get-the-point-across-that-we-weren’t-interested-ear. We missed one of those tours. Awesome. Bless my mom, she’s a good person and loves listening… but this waitress literally would not shut the hell up while we ate bread, waited another 25 minutes from a dead kitchen(she wasnt checking other tables or seeing if the order was ready) our meal came slightly cold(shocker) and she stood around even more after we’d finished… I felt incredibly awkward because I’d learned just how hard it is being a single mother through our waitress while eating lunch. It was the perfect storm of my mom being polite and my dad and I straining ourselves not to tell this waitress to leave… because holy crap that was some seriously screwed up stuff she was telling us. Like, if we’d brushed her off, it probably would have gotten worse… like, this woman was almost in tears… and all we’d done was… nod our heads. It was amazing to behold, just the worst service ever where we had a gun to our heads of listening to this poor woman recount her failings as a mother. We left the restaurant… my mom just apologizing to my dad and I for not being more forceful. I just couldn’t stop thinking how weird the whole situation was. :I. That garlic mayo though, darn good with the straw onions and Gruyère cheese on the kobe. I just go to Drakes, rather than even attempt to chance that encounter ever again.

Business lunch here today with 20 people. We had our own long table in a semi private area of the restaurant. The place is known for steaks and they had an snacking variety of beef options that made you salivate just reading the descriptions. The service was very good and they didn’t ever fill your beverage including coffee but brought you a fresh cup or glass every time. Each meal comes with an endless house salad and one side. The house salad is delicious and cones out in a chilled bowl yo share with 1 other person. Your salad bowl is also ice cold. The bread and seasoned butter was delicious as well. Okay so all of this and we haven’t even gotten to our meal yet. I had the twin filets Rockefeller medium rare. It came out perfectly cooked sitting on a bed of Au jus. Yummy. The filets could be cut with a fork. I got the loaded baked potato as my side and split that with a coworker who got the grilled asparagus. Everything was delicious, excellent service and reasonable prices. Great meal!
