I visited Masterson Park for the first time on 11÷27÷14. At first glance it was laid out well and there was a walking path around the perimeter. Also, the ground and«everything else» on it was frozen that day. The«everything else» mentioned above was, of course, dog poop land mines. When my dog and I decided to play with a ball off the trail, I discovered that it was difficult to move around without stepping on these frozen nuggets. Thankfully, they were frozen. I have visited a couple other dog parks without having this experience. It appears the patrons of Wellington and Cold Stream Park have a different ethic when it comes to picking up after their dogs. There was a young couple, with two black and white border collie type dogs, who were strolling along enjoying the brisk morning, oblivious to their two dogs making their deposits just a few feet behind the walkers. I know the dog owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs, but I would expect the Lexington Parks Association to make checks to see if the rules are being adhered to. This is not a place that I want my dog to visit in this condition.

I have only been once but was so impressed. The grass is well kept with a variety of lengths to play and sniff in. Plus, it has shady spots and benches. The water fountain was nice too. My owner was able to sit and relax until I was thirsty. Well she should be tired, that was a lot of running! There was sooooooo much room to chase my ball! I couldn’t believe it! I almost got tired before she did. Almost I said, don’t wanna lose my dog credibility here. Hope we go back soon, ~Fred(the 75 lbs of white American Bulldog mix running at top speeds with anyone who would play) This was written in Fred’s voice because it was all I could«hear» him say after a good amount of playing. It was a planned trip because this is a bit of a drive but tends to be worth it. As mentioned great grass and dog space. Also has good parking and pretty park for on leash walking.

fantastic dog park. I was visiting the area with my pups and they were so happy to get out and run. very large area for them to run and lots of grass. so many dog parks we have visited are a muddy mess. this one was perfect.

One of the nicest dog parks in Lexington. Has a farm setting feeling to it and the dogs really can stretch their legs in the massive open area. Trees are nice in the summer and there are benches to sit on. It’s clean and the people who frequent the park seem to be responsible dog owners. I have yet to see anyone bring an aggressive dog.

It has a two large areas and is pretty well maintained. Does have water access, but the biggest problem I have is, there are some rude pet parents. Kind of click’e, if you don’t go there every day/week…you can been shunned as an outsider

The best dog park in Lexington. If you forget«bags» at home they have them at the gate as you walk in. If you don’t like your dog being sniffed or socializing don’t bring them… I hate watching people yell or swat at dogs for doing just that.

Nice stop over fort pup to stretch her legs and not too far off the beaten path. Runs are spacious and there are nice mature trees decorating the dog park. A very enjoyable visit on a sunny and snowy day.

By far the best dog park in Lexington! It’s a little bit further out than the rest of the dog parks, but I’ve been to ‘em all, and this one is definitely the best maintained and worth the drive. The park itself is huge, has a good mix of cut grass and tall grass, and has a lot of shade trees and benches. My favorite feature(which a lot of the other dog parks don’t have) is that it has a water fountain for dogs at the back of the park.
