I ventured out to this park yesterday thinking I had never been there. But, as I approached I realized I had been there and just wasn’t impressed. To be fair, my main interest in parks is for hiking trails for me and playground areas for my son. Masterson Station is lacking in these areas. It does encompass a lot of land. There are soccer fields, a small playground. The dog park looks nice. It seems like a nice place for events. But, there really aren’t any trails. It seems like they could remedy that. The playground is very small. I was frankly bored. So, I probably won’t be back unless it’s for an event.

For years, the only thing going on at this park was the Bluegrass Fair, once a year. Now, there is a play area for the kids, several soccer fields. There are two entrances, the entrance on Leestown Rd is the most common but the back entrance, on Spurr Rd is where the picnic areas are that you can reserve for a group events or cook outs. There’s an equine area that I don’t really know much about. The dog park is one of the best and largest in the area. My fur girls love it, they both know the road to dog park and they whine with excitement. Basically, it’s a hot spot park for locals if we have a specific agenda that is relevant to this park. It’s not necessarily a place that a tourist would enjoy. This weekend, I’m going to check out the wine festival there, it’s in an indoor area that I’ve never been to… So might update my review.
