Simply Blue Salon

I’ve been a fan of Simply Blue for a while. Kelsey is a great stylist and I enjoy getting my hair done at Simply Blue. When a problem arose regarding my appointment, the owner of the salon called me directly and rectified the problem. Thanks Simply Blue! I’m a fan.

I am rarely compelled to take the time to write a review of any business but my experience at Simply Blue spa in Chevy Chase neighborhood a few weeks ago has been gnawing away at me that I should take a few minutes and record my experience.
I had trepidation going in to Simply Blue I have to admit. It looks fancy and lies in the middle of Chevy Chase so I feared it would be a typical snooty and pretentious salon but I was in need of a good hair cut for my unruly curly hair.
Kelsey, one of the stylists immediately greeted my with a bubbly inviting hello and thus began my decent into an hour of true salon bliss.
Simply Blue is an Avada salon first and foremost. I personally love their products and if you are familiar with the product, the SMELL of an Avada salon is wonderful in itself.
Kelsey sat me in her chair and listened to my curly hair dilemma and offered suggestions without being pushy or dismissive. She was training another stylist and seemed to be very knowledgeable but never made me feel like I was being ignored.
While she washed my hair she placed what I can only describe as an aromatherapy warming pad? over my chest and massaged my head, shoulders and face for what seemed like forever. AWESOME.
The haircut was great and she really took the time to explain to the trainee why her technique works for curly hair without leaving me out. She went out of her way to include me in the conversation, and kept it personalized to me and my experience.
She took the time to let it dry a bit to see how it would lay in its curly state and then went further and blew it out so I could see how it looked straight.
She explained all of the relevant products in their line and even gave me several samples to try without ever being pushy or pretentious.
They are amazing. The salon offers all the hair salon needs you would ever require as well as nails, waxing and they even have a make up line.
Amazing. Kelsey is WONDERFUL! My haircut is two and a half weeks in and looks fantastic still. I will never ever go anywhere else!
