Jax Hamburgers

Friendly service, good food. As a family we always enjoy stopping In. I would say the hamburgers are the best thing on the menu with the onion a close second.

I do not review restaurants often, but this place was worth it. We didn’t have anything that was less than exceptional!!! The Lil Diablo burger was fantastic and the fried pickles were some of the best I have had. Definitely an amazing restaurant in such a small town. This is not what I expected when we were looking for a place to eat.
Whatever you do, do not mistake or confuse this with JAX burgers and Shakes in the Houston area. They are not related and this location is amazing.

Good blue cheese burger. Go ahead and feed the beast and get the ½ pound burger. You will only feel guilty for a second. Some thing parking is a B* but if there were a lot of spaces, the food would not be good.

Homemade buns, white, wheat, or jalapeño is awesome. fresh soft and a little sweet. handmade fries and onion rings. I had the Big Dirty on jalapeño bun. Came with grilled onions grilled mushrooms, avocado, bacon and cheddar cheese. And the ½ pound beef burger was also handmade and amazing. You have to try this place once

Seriously just had one of the best burgers ever. I got the Black & Bleu with buffalo sauce and it was great! Smash Burger needs to take a lesson on how to make burgers the good way, seriously.

Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Ordered what was recommended to me and was very impressed! Will definitely be coming back!

Great food. Great music. Best jalapeño ranch ever. Blackened chicken spud with sour cream, absolute best! Can’t beat the onion rings too. Crispy fries and always fresh. Best burgers around! You can help yourself to all the pickles and ranch your heart desires! Enjoyable place to go with an awesome history!

I love this place.
Been going here for a while. And I almost always get the same thing and can never finish it. Their fried chicken salad with Jalepeno ranch.
Super chill place good music and great food!

The décor is country rustic and is a little dark. The menus are on chalk boards on the walls. Order first then sit. Plenty of space to move around. There is a separate bar area in the back. This located right in the town square. Really a cool little location. There is one small TV showing a game in the main dining area.
Ok, got my food. The Big Dirty. This is a tough one for me. The flavor profile was on point but the delivery failed. It had so much crap on it I couldn’t pick it up and eat it like a burger. This was a huge fail for me. I really wanted to rave but I can’t. Maybe if I had a more normal burger I wouldn’t have had the experience. I am going with 4 stars taking one away for delivery of the product. I feel like it was a 3 star experience I just can’t verbalize it so I won’t knock it.

Yes. I must say I have eaten here several times. It is surprising to think that in such a small area they would have a restaurant that had such a fantastic veggie burger! And their burger bar is always well stocked and fresh! I take friends here and they are always happy because they have something for everybody no matter what mood your in!

It was ok. Just mediocre. Had the turkey cranberry salad which was big but tasted sweet like sugar was added. Hubby had the blue and black burger which was ok. Band the blacked chicken spud. Just ok. Paid 27 that included two drinks. The place had no smiles but ONE from employees. Ambiance is ok. Old rock music playing. Bus boys not very serving or engaging. Someone recommended and said it was best place in town. Poor town if that’s the best they are in need of better restaurant with better service and exceptional food. This was not it. I can forgive marginal food but poor impersonal service too is asking too much.

My favorite burger place in all of Texas. The Diablo burger is awesome every single time. Get there early for lunch as the line gets long. If you don’t have time to wait for excellence, then go to a fast food chain. Whenever I am in the area we HAVE to stop. Keep it up JAX.

I usually love eating here. I have eaten here more times than I can count. Tonight, however was a horrible experience. The cashier was pissy that we came in 15 minutes before closing and didn’t put my order in. The rest of my party received their orders. It’s really is horrible to experience this in such a small town. We WERE regulars of Jax. Now we will take our business elsewhere and not spend locally.

I came in around lunch time so maybe that’s why the wait was long but other than that it was a pretty nice experience. Chill small town vibes all around and delicious burgers. I had the lil Diablo which is supposed to be spice but I guess it depends on the person. To me it was just a well put together burger. The onion rings are well battered and the fries are delicious too! I can’t wait to go back. I think they really do own up the their saying «best burgers in town». I haven’t had a better burger in Liberty, Tx

Definitely worth the stop. Tucked away on the courthouse square, you really have to be looking for it or you will miss it. (For that matter, the same could be said of the entire town.) Jax’s burgers is a true beacon of hope in an otherwise bleak small-​town landscape full of chain fast food options.
I’ve tried a number of the burgers here. All will satisfy. My current fave is the Diablo.

I was recommended by friends, as well as reviews here, to meet friends here. Not sure why. I was NOT impressed.
Parking is horrible. If you park in front of the restaurant, you are lucky if traffic ever lets you out. If you park across the street in front of the court house, same issue. If you are on the side of the court house, you get to walk a way. When you have back issues, like I do, walking so far can be bad.
The order line took forever. Three people in front of us and we still had to wait almost 15 minutes to get our order taken.
I was told they had reuben sandwiches and I have been wanting a good reuben. Another thing I wasn’t that impressed about. They are supposed to be served on rye bread. If that was rye bread, I’ll be a Monkey’s Uncle. Looked like it was, but the taste said otherwise. Not really sure what kind of bread it was, except it was edible. The rest of the sandwich was OK, just not as good as I am use to.
I also was given a side of potato salad. I really couldn’t call it a side, it was more like a dab and that dab was very bland. I really couldn’t tell what kind of potato salad it was. Wasn’t mustard. not yellow nor did it taste like mustard. Wasn’t mayonnaise. Don’t know.
My daughter had the half pound hamburger, plain and got her fixings from a side bar set out just for that. She said the burger itself was good, but that the bun was quite a bit soggy before the fixings were put on it.
Their fries were good through. Nice and thick and cooked all the way through.
The store cleanliness was great. There was a nice older man who would come by and pick up the baskets when we were done. Very friendly.
If someone else pays, I’d come back when I’m in town, otherwise I wouldn’t come back and spend my money.

Great burgers in old downtown Liberty? Really? Heck yes! We were wanting burgers and had eaten at another place in town a while back. Hub and I started heading Liberty way when he said, «Hey, let’s try Jax.» I’m up for something new, so we went on over. Glad we did. If you want burgers and beer, you’re in the right place. I must say that they were excellent. The people here were really nice too. I love finding unexpected jewels and this is certainly one.

Love stopping here for a delicious burger anytime we’re near it! The hamburger buns they use are delicious, like no other! Don’t go anywhere else if you’re craving a burger! Jax’s is the place!
