Very good food, just needs better employment and more wait staff

Italians eating at Italian restaurants are the toughest people to please. Lets face it our Mothers and Aunts on a bad day can usually blow away any place I’ve eaten at in the last 40 years. With that being said I have to give props to Goccia D’oro for coming up with the«goods». The hot seafood app with it’s delightful combo of baked clams, fried calamari, and succulent shrimp set up my palate and got my mouth to watering for more, more, more!!! The crispy veal cutlet with fresh tomatoes on top was a huge hit. The grilled salmon was fresh and tasty but a bit bland. Most of the staff were friendly although the head waiter was a bit of a D-bag.

I had went here with my whole family and we really enjoyed ourselves, the food was good and the service exceptional. I then ordered my normal clam sauce that I gauge how good an Italian restaurant is by and it was horrible. It was so overly salty that I couldn’t even finish it. Perhaps I just got them on a bad day, but our last experience there was far from good in terms of food. Maybe we’ll give them another shot down the line.

If you have never been to an Italian wedding you must enjoy dinner on Saturday night at what I consider the best Italian restaurant on Long Island’s South Shore. From the moment we arrived you are greeted with a smile, awesome service and entertainment all evening long by Peter Mio. Although it was only the two of us we felt like we knew everone. It was simply one great party with dishes and desserts to die for. The host Tito and staff were attentive and made you feel right at home. A usual one hour dinner for two lasted over three hours as we dined and danced the night away. Next time we will bring a small group like many did and enjoy an evening filled with laughter, delicious food that is affordable and most memorable.
