Sorto’s Top Bun Burgers & Fries

This loooooooooow key Lindenhurst burger joint earns four stars from me solely because the burgers were extremely tasty. Ordered a simple burger with ketchup, lettuce and sautéed onions and it was great. May want to do takeout instead of eating in because the place is kind of dumpy. Also, playing uncut Eminem, Kanye and Wiz Khalifa isn’t such a great idea in a family establishment. How many times do I need to hear the n word and mother f — ker while I’m trying to eat?! The staff was okay. Prices are super cheap though. I’ll absolutely do take out next time and I recommend this place. In spite of its faults, the burgers are awesome.

Really wanted to be impressed with this place. My cousin found it on Unilocal during a random search. I ordered a top burger with cheese and the usual fixings. He had the triple burger with bacon. Both burgers are a good size but overall we thought were too soft. By the time we got home the burger side of the bun was very mushy. The burger itself wasn’t bland but I wouldn’t call it flavorful either. The fires are good though.

Delicious burgers! Really enjoyed eating here and the staff was awesome.

Place had great burgers and shakes. They definitely have a little niche there. Since there are burger places everywhere I doubt I’d make a special trip there, however, if I was local I’d surely stop in.

Fresh and Delicious… wide variety of great items… and of course the Burgers are awsome!

Food is always great. And quick delivery. Our goto burger place. We usually do burgers and fries, sometimes we switch it up and do sandwiches. All have been delicious. Love the sweet potato fries!

I’ve been here maybe five times before this is the first time I had their garlic bun, and it will be my last ! They have been consistently fresh and a good experience but not this time. The burger was over cooked and it didn’t make for a good experience !

I wouldn’t go and say these things are anything spectacular but I can’t say any of it is awful either.
The cubano is probably the best thing I’ve had, albeit a tad dry, it’s fixed with a little mayo and fancy deli mustard from my fridge. I’ll stick to my bodega as its close and fantastic but in a pinch, this spot would do.
The gyro wasn’t bad either, I didn’t expect much as I wouldn’t think this slow «fast-​foody» spot could pull off a wide array of options but the thing wasn’t half bad. Needed more taziki but I luckily happened to have that in my fridge as well. The thing wasn’t fantastic and authentic but it was good enough.
Moving onto the burger… I wouldn’t say at all that it was a top gunner at Top Buns. I’d say it was decent, I’d say my girlfriend like it more than I did and more than some family, but again, can’t hate; I don’t think I’d ever bother coning back since I’ve had better everything, but I will say, if you do go, make sure you check in here on Unilocal!You’ll get 5 bux off a $ 25 order. I only ordered the gyro in hopes of getting up to the $ 25 (all three items above came to $ 25.18 minus that five and I practically got one almost free! Woohoo — I probably should have got fries or onion rings)
Not impressed with the place but the girl who took my order was sweet; the place is run down but what I expected of this strip in Lindenhurst (no offense)

After hearing rave reviews about Top Bun for ages, my family and I finally tried them and let’s just say they lived up to the hype.
These burgers are well seasoned and juicy and they have some of the best onion rings ever.
Tried items include: the ½ lb. burger with swiss cheese and sautéed onions, the double cheeseburger with bacon, the chili, the top bun hot dog, fries, curly fries, onion rings and the Cubano sandwich. Everyone loved everything and we’ve gone in person in addition to getting food delivered, it was good every time.
We’re very happy to support a local business and have been singing their praises ever since discovering them. Keep up the good work guys.

This was our first time ordering and we will definitely be ordering again. Delivery was on time and my Philly cheese steak, wings and chicken fingers were hot and cooked perfectly.

Not only was their food on point their employees and owner went went above and beyond when dealing with a FB/​GrubHub coupon issue. Will be going back for sure… Awesome local burger spot but totally worth a trip.

Really good burgers not too much but they make them to order with a lot of toppings good curly fries I will be back!

Great little burger place. Friendly service with a staff that knows burgers. I can’t speak for the rest of the menu yet but I plan to make it thebplave I go to when I visit Lindenhurst. Impressive burger and 4different typres of fries.

For a burger place it was good. The spicy jalapeño grilled chicken and crispy chicken sandwich was really gd but the jalapeños should have been diced with no seeds… spicy buffalo fries great as well as so was the onion rings… order at a moderate pace… alot of food…

My husband and I ordered from here for the first time a few weeks back. We’ve heard rave reviews about the cuban sandwich. I know what you’re thinking, «at a burger place?!» Cause that’s what I was thinking too. I went for it and my husband orders a burger and Cajun fries. I also got a milkshake cause why not! I’ve had a lot of cuban sandwiches in my day, they happen to rank high among what I’d go for if it’s on the menu. I was a little disappointed. The sandwich was more dry than I would have liked and was overall just average in taste. I do give kudos for offering it though! The milkshake was delicious though! My husband found the burger average as well and the Cajun fries tasted pretty much like regular fries to us. The most disappointing aspect was probably how much all of this cost us. It was a pretty pricey dinner that we would have been happy paying if the food was amazing. 2.5 stars.

Love the build your own burger, tons of toppings to choose from and the Hot Dogs are Amazing as well. Never disappointed.

We just moved to the area & tried this place a few weeks ago for takeout. I am unhealthily addicted to sweet potato fries, so I literally order them whenever I can find them on a menu. The ones from Top Bun are particularly underwhelming. In fact, though I haven’t had everything on the menu, nothing I tasted was very impressive. Sweet potato fries were soggy, lifeless and lacked flavor. The Philly cheesesteak was OK, but the hubby and I have been spoiled by multiple trips to Philly. The Cajun fries… Seriously, just regular fries with salt and pepper.
From looking at the photos it didn’t seem like the burger was worth the price so I didn’t order it, but hey maybe it’s a life changing burger… Who knows. I’m being generous with three stars because the man who was working was friendly & welcoming. The place is very clean and I actually do want to support local businesses.
I just wish the fries were a little crispier and a little tastier, ’til then still on the search for great sweet potato fries!

The Greek salad with grilled chicken is amazing. I had it for 2 weeks straight. The Greek salad wrap is delicious as well. I recommend the Cuban sandwich and the Cajun fries. I had the Cuban and fries as a cheat meal and it was worth it.

I’m so glad that Lindenhurst has an establishment like this because this place is awesome. I went here last night to get some dinner, ordered a burger with a side of curly fries, and it was superb. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Ordered mid-​morning, the place was empty, and we had a fairly simple order. The cashier was very courteous, and seemed attentive. We waited a good amount of time (20 min) for two wraps, a ½ order of chicken fingers, and ½ order mozzarella sticks to go. When we opened the bag to eat, we realized the amount of time it took to prepare the meal didn’t equal the quality. The wraps were stuffed full of iceberg lettuce, only a small amount of meat and large pieces of tomato end cuts. The meal was bland and mediocre at best. We ordered hot sauce in each and that was not fulfilled. Furthermore the mozzarella sticks had two sticks without mozzarella. That was a first. Overall I would say as a first impression: I would not return.

Meh. The burgers are OK — certainly not bad yet nothing to rave about. While having choices is always good (double/​triple patties, lots of toppings, bun types), at the heart of it all is the burger itself. And the beef here is ordinary, but not worth a major detour. The fries are good, free fountain refills are always a plus. Beyond the burgers… well, that’s where things get sketchy. Looking to balance all the grease, I ordered a green salad, which was mostly white since they use iceberg lettuce. It arrived in a heap on a paper plate with tasteless tomatoes, chopped green pepper, onions — something that should be priced at $ 2, but costs $ 6.25. Hmmm…
My friend ordered the chili and put it down after one bite. Halfway through his burger he gave it a second shot. «Hello chili», said the trash, and that was the end of that.
They seem to be imitating 5 Guys. But if you adopt that business model, you need to provide things that 5 Guys cannot. Yet every comparable element seemed almost on a par with 5 Guys. As for non-​comparable elements that could serve as highlights — salads, chili — those fare so poorly that they should be dropped from the menu.

Food quality is lucky to be decent. For the price the quality should be upgraded. So since it most likely won’t be go get yourself a decent burger somewhere else and spend your money wisely.

Waited for my second visit to write a review to make sure first time was not a fluke lol. Being new to lindenhurst and looking for a good burger joint i read reviews on Unilocal and gave this joint a shot 2 visits 2 excellent burgers def my new burger joint. Double cheese with bacon sautéed onions and mushrooms excellent. I will be a regular here

Yummy made to order old fashioned flat top grilled burgers. Fresh rolls, beef and toppings. The chili is awesome. Chocolate milkshakes and fries to go along with the burgers are not to be missed. Quick, cheap and friendly neighborhood burger joint. They also offer delivery in the area.

What happened to Top Bun???
They used to be so delicious! This was my top place to eat burgers and wraps before,
but suddenly, the staff takes a long time to take orders, get things wrong, really inattentive.
Food isn’t up to par anymore. Bring back the quality food please

The cubano, the triple cheeseburger, lamb gyro, asiago fries, and sweet potato fries are all delicious. Amazing food and great friendly attitude from owner and employees. The fries are a must have!

Food is mediocre at best. Pricey for the quality. Customer service is non exist. The cashier was in such a rush that he didn’t want me to go on Unilocal to get the 10% coupon. It’s not a lot of money, just the principal. Tried to lie and tell me it wouldn’t work right away. Didn’t bother using it, but made sure to show him in an attempt to let him know that he’s full of it. You would thing that considering it was my first time there that they would have not forgotten anything, but you’d be wrong. Called when we got home, just to let them know. They didn’t really seem to care, but like I said, it’s the principal. It looks like a failed attempt to be a generic five guys. My advice would be not to waste your time. I see a lot of good reviews and can only assume that there talking about a different place because it’s not this one.

Sometimes you just want a good old fashioned burger. You can go the fast food route but who knows what you are getting. You could do the diner route but the usually grill them and you lose all of the delicious flavor. And true there are some «guys’ who do it like they do at Sorto’s, but if you ask me Sorto’s is doing it better.
Fresh beef available in one, two or three deliciously juicy and ever so greasy (in a good way) patties. It is the burger your grandmother would make if she made burgers. (but she usually makes baked ziti, and a ham, and 7 different vegetables… but I digress) It’s just plain old fashioned goodness between two buns.
They have a whole host of toppings available, different cheese to choose from and also a few bun options. It is quite simply one of the best burgers on long Island. A fat kid paradise if you will.
They also have a lot of new menu items if burgers aren’t your fancy and they are all equally delicious. A special shout out to the Cajun fries that are just spicy enough to let you know they mean business.
The staff is always friendly and the delivery people are always quick and friendly.
If you are anywhere in the area you must give them a try and if you are lucky like me and live close enough… they’ll deliver!

The burger was OK, but I won’t be returning unless I’m in the neighborhood and craving a burger (and too lazy to look up another burger joint at Unilocal). Nothing really wrong with service or flavor of the burger (I ordered and finished the 10oz). They made my burger (and two other people’s burgers) a med well when I ordered it med. Regular and sweet potato fries were good — crispy and hot — just how I like them. With the saturation of burger joints EVERYWHERE, I think I could find better or just-​as-​good burgers closer to my home (this place was a bit out of the way for me — but I had to try because of the reviews).

TOP BUN isn’t kidding when they wrote «the best burgers in town»!!!
Fairly new to the Lindenhurst & Babylon area (less than a year) and we have ordered from numerous local take out joints in hopes for a GREAT BURGER! This place has struck genius, on their creative burger recipes.
With every order the meat is cooked to perfection, each patty is an ideal thickness, the choice of bun is an extra that gives your creation a little flair and the choice of 3 types of fries or onion rings is a BONUS! Curly fries are huge in my house and for the longest time we only could get them in the local Diners. Another huge favor as to why they deserve each one of those 5 stars is; regardless if you dine in or take out or have it delivered –ITS CONSISTENT AND DELICIOUS!
SMASH-​BURGER was our favorite burger joint UNTIL I HAD THE PLEASURE OF THIS! They do not even deserve to stand in the same line as TOP BUN !! Hahaha
