Came here with my daughter after a day of shopping. Had a gift card I got awhile back. Went to pay the bill and I was told that they have new owners and they would not honor it. WOW. How terrible is that. Will not be going there again.

This is the best Thai restaurant in Livermore and I’ve been to all of them. It’s never too crowded and the food is always tasty and fresh.

As a rule, when I dine, or in this case, lunch, out, I go for Thai. I ordered a fried prawn appetizer, which was beautiful presented using a stick structure to arrange the prawns. My pumpkin curry salmon was delicious. They offered green tea and Thai tea ice cream for dessert. I was tempted by the Thai tea ice cream, since I never saw it offered before, but went with coconut, as it seems best for finishing off a Thai meal. The ice cream was beautifully presented. I posted a picture on Facebook and got the most likes ever for one of my posts. Our server as friendly and efficient. There were lots of items on the menu I would like to try in the future, so I plan to be back.

I love coming here! I’ve brought my family here multiple times and I not only appreciate the variety of delicious dishes, but the consistency of quality. Great food and great ambiance!

Every meal is absolutely delicious, especially the pumpkin salmon(both the soup and rice dish). Try the healthy fresh avocado spring rolls yummy corn fritters(fried, but SO good!). They also have their most popular dish served in a pumpkin. Every meal served is presented beautifully with edible garnish in the shape of flowers. The waiters work so hard, are so kind, and meals are reasonably priced. Don’t ever get a bottle of wine because the pour is always GENEROUS!

Nice place. Very comfortable and the service was very good. Not crowded at all. Food came quickly and was delicious. Nice portion sizes. We were well attended to during the meal as well. I would eat here again. 4 stars only because it was just missing a little Pizzazz.

You can’t go wrong with Thai food and this restaurant was no exception. I ordered the Two Lover Prawns and Scallops($ 10.00), it came with a salad, rice(your choice of. I recommend the garlic rice) and a soup. It had the right seasoning so even the vegetables was good, but it seem my scallop wasn’t cooked well because it was a bit too chewy Basil Minced Chicken($ 12.00) — it tasted similar to garlic chicken, but not too sweet and fried well. Also came with salad, your choice of rice and a soup. The server was friendly and give out some good recommendation, fast services(maybe because there was only 2 parties after us), and wished she could speak louder next time This restaurant had this eloquent style with leather seating and decorative yet simple designs on the wall– more like a business to go restaurant, but overall felt relax and enjoyed the meal

I went with recommendations from the server. Hot and sour soup was delicious. Great flavor and presented nicely. The arrangement of the veggies looked like it had been done with care. For an entrée she recommended a dish with wide rice noodle, bell peppers, and basil. It was seasoned nicely. I got it with chicken and the chicken was the only part of the dish that wasn’t delicious. It wasn’t bad, just a bit plain. Service was good.

I ordered the Pumpkin Curry, and it was very very good. Not a fan of the seats, they are very pretty but quite hard and unpleasant. Friends ordered other soups and currys, and my bf ordered Orange Chicken. His chicken was good, but I wouldn’t come here and pay that price for orange chicken. Friends are not a fan of this place, they don’t like the service, but when I went with them, I had my water and soda refilled often.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn’t too busy. Love the décor, so modern with a take on Asian culture. Pretty cool ambiance. The bathrooms were pretty legit, lol. The sink was so different but a good modern different. lol. Okay, okay. On to the real stuff. We were seated immediately. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea, it was good. Per usual. Our waiter was super friendly & quick! We ordered: + Tofu Pad Se Ew: The tofu could be grilled a little more but other than that, pretty good :) + Basic Fried Rice with Tofu & Pineapple: Can’t go wrong with pineapple in fried rice, always a win in my book! The tofu was grilled perfectly in this one. + Orange Chicken: I didn’t eat it but it did look pretty good. Just sayin’ We paid up front & it was quick & easy. All in all, not bad Livermore, not bad.

The spicy prawns with fried rice was so awesome, I try to stop in when I’m in the area, service is great & they’re very attentive & keep our glasses full, the atmosphere is very relaxing, it’s not loud & crazy in there, and although parking can sometimes be a pain, it’s worth it, the food is so good!

If you like Thai food, you’ll like Star Anise. If you enjoy dining at a comically leisurely pace in complete silence, then Star Anise was truly made for you! Last night I ordered the Two Lover Prawns and Scallops. I don’t have any lovers so it was fun to pretend I was a hot commodity. This dish was delicious and went well with my Concannon Sauvignon Blanc. I’ve only eaten here a few times over the years. For some reason it’s never really on my radar. Maybe because when I think of Thai food I don’t think of a fancy-ish place like Star Anise. If you’re fancy, this is your jam. If you’re not, go to Country Waffles and hang your head in shame.

Ordered Good presentation — very nice Nice ambience — great décor Free hot and sour soup — was OK. Fried lumpia appetizer — frozen, factory made Aromatic Duck — not aromatic, tasted microwaved Spicy prawns and scallop with basil — meh Overall, less than satisfying.

Great Thai food! Really creative large menu and food presentation has a wow factor. For the most part the service is good but slow. They need more than one server and that’s all they have! I don’t know how she does it. Great downtown location but allow enough time for slow service if you want to go to the movies or Bankhead theater next door.

Came here with a friend for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It took absolutely forever for us to get our food! Our lunch lasted over 2 hours because of all the waiting. As for the food, it was simply okay. My pad ke mao was mainly vegetables topped to take up room on their plate. There was very minimal noodles, which is what the dish is suppose to be. Would most likely not come back again. The wait time is ridiculous for food that is only subpar.

This was our third time here. The food is good, the ambience is nice, and while it’s often crowded, the noise level is always muted enough to hear your dining companions while keeping your private conversation private. They are often quite busy, and as a result, the service can sometimes be slow(or European; maybe they have it right…). Settle in with enough time to relax and enjoy your meal and companions and you’ll be happy.

My go-to spot for Thai food in the area! Fresh and delicious every time! Lunch gets hectic but the food makes up for it. Soup has been added to the lunch specials since new ownership took place which is a nice touch but prices have gone up a couple dollars.

Don’t even know what to say other than the service was horrible and the food was disgusting. We sent back the Orange chicken it was like eating leather. The prawns were left untouched because we were too embarrassed to send back another plate so we paid for the bowl of ok thai coconut soup that had chunks of brown chicken cartilage, gummy rice and prawns and left!!! I don’t see how people loveeeee this food it literally left me sick to my stomach. I wish we went across town. Never again. But if you want to have bad attitude waiters, ask for refills and disgusting food have at it!
