I used to love this place when I was in high school and I was feeling spontaneous yesterday and decided to get it for old times sake. Honestly the portions are large but the chicken is so creepy. We even joke and call it «chicken on a rope» because its all connected together. That’s not even the issue though, the issue is that within an hour of eating there I got so sick! Even today my stomach has been very upset. I don’t know if the chicken was bad/undercooked, or if it was just way too greasy or what the issue was, but I wouldn’t eat here again. Not worth it! If anyone knows of anything similar that wont make you sick let me know!

How can I give a food court standup shop 5 stars? Well, there has to be some sort of compartmentalization when it comes to reviews in general. But, for the niche that it fills, it does a fine job. The go to is the chicken teriyaki with double meat and water. That’s under $ 8, piping hot, and tasty. Add some hot sauce and get the white rice and even extra vegetables, and you will be satisfied. Sometimes the portions are a little off since it’s all kinda based on the size of the spoonful that the guy behind the counter decides to plop on your plate. I have not had any of the sushi or beef or shrimp, so I can’t really comment. But, chicken teriyaki wise, this place is bomb. Also, they have a frequent dining card, five stamps gets you a free chicken teriyaki, but you have to ask for this card. That’s my super tip.

My mom and I got the beef teriyaki($ 8) with soba noodles(extra $ 0.50 surcharge) and a spring roll($ 0.79). The beef was pretty tasty. The noodles were a great texture and not bad– I thought the sauce was kind of strong though. The dish was completely shiny– super greasy. I don’t really like spring rolls in general but this spring roll was actually really good! The portion was pretty big– enough for 2 small ladies to share for sure. The chefs cook the food right in front of you which means it is fresh– unlike places like Panda Express where they cook it and let it sit there until someone orders it. There was a long line for Sarku the whole time I was there. Overall, A-OK.

I eat here almost everyday. One the best food around the place. I would recommend this place because of the good service and fresh food.

If you like good food with a big portion and a good price then this is the place. This is what I always get when I come to this mall. The basic is chicken with vegetables and rice. You can change it up a little. You can either get white or fried rice and either get vegetables or none and get a little bit more rice. I always get white rice with no vegies. You can get double meat if you want for like 65 cents or something around that range. I pay no more than $ 7 for my food but that’s without a drink. They always make a lot at a time because it’s so popular and they always make it fresh. I’m always happy with my food and it’s a big portion. I’m always full afterwards. Also you can ask for extra sauce on top of your food. It’s the teriyaki sauce they use in there chicken. You also know it’s good when it’s one of the longest lines in the food court. So basically good and fresh food with big portions and at a good price.

I haven’t been to Yorktown Mall since high school – and I’m 27 – wow this place has changed! I was skeptical of her recommendation to go to a mall for«good food;» admittedly, I’ve gotten a little snobby after experiencing city life for 8 years! But hey, this place isn’t bad! There is a LINE outside this place. It is a MALL restaurant. We are in the SUBURBS. It was a SUNDAYAFTERNOON… Really?! This situation was almost surreal to me. The chicken teriyaki, not the beef teriyaki, is the specialty here. It’s $ 8 with enough portions for two people, or one REALLY hungry man/woman(equal opportunist here ;)). Just a comment about the mall in general – they’ve updated the place to look a lot more modern. There’s free wi-fi, and the dining area has outlets for you to plug your computer in. Not a bad place to study or get work done if you don’t mind the background noise :).

They are generous with their portions, which was surprising since my order costed only 7 – 8 bucks. However, the food(for me) was on the bland side. I ordered myself a beef teriyaki plate while my friend ordered a chicken teriyaki plate. The beef had no flavor whatsoever. I was disappointed because I should have gotten the chicken teriyaki. The chicken teriyaki was a dollar cheaper and it was actually tasty compared to the beef. My beef teriyaki plate also came with fried rice and steam vegetables and you can substitute rice for chow mein(a dollar more I believe). The chow mein and fried rice reminded me of Panda Express, but it tasted a little bit healthier. I would highly recommend the chicken teriyaki.

Doesn’t get much better than this when it comes to mall food court fare. Nothing like other asian mall food where the food can sit up to hours in warming containers(Panda Express); the famous chicken teriyaki is always prepared fresh and never disappoints. Since the proteins are made fresh their will be times where you will have to wait a considerable amount of time to get your food but it is well worth it. Also it is super cheap at around under 6 $ for a chicken teriyaki meal which includes fried or white rice, chicken, and mixed veggies; usually enough for two meals for most people. An absolute must buy at the Yorktown mall food court!

Chicken was not cooked all the way. This place will make you sick unless you watch them completely cook the chicken all the way through. Problem is they cook the uncooked chicken so close the cooked chicken. Completely unsanitary

They have really good sushi. The spicy tuna is to die for but the service is not very good. When I ordered sushi for the second time they told me they couldn’t make it. That they didn’t have time to make it because they were lazy. The Hispanic workers said this themselves and I’m a Hispanic myself. I talked a lot of smack to them in Spanish but they didn’t seem to care. I asked for the manager but he wasn’t available. I was very angry that I had to argue with them to make my food. It was very bad service that day

For mall food, this place is awesome. The menu isn’t huge, and I am not a big teriyaki fan(which is pretty much their whole menu), but I still enjoyed my beef teriyaki. I got it with noodles instead of rice — they don’t seem to make a big deal out of offering it as a sub for rice, but they do. The noodles are warmed up on the grill top, which makes them even better. The beef itself is low-ish quality, of course, but there’s plenty of it. The people are not all that friendly, but they get the job done. I can’t imagine there’s a better fast food place within the mall.

Love this place the service is great and the food is amazing! Also such a great value, you can get extra chicken for only 1.50 and this ends up being two meals for me!

As far as the Yorktown Mall Food Court is concerned, this little place is the gem. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a nice variety surrounding this place, but on a typical weekend, Sarku Japan always has the longest line, and for good reason. The Chicken Teriyaki with sweet Teriyaki sauce is nothing short of fantastic. The other plates, such as the Beef Teriyaki, etc, etc are mediocre. Not bad, but not enough to «WoW» me. So if you come here, it has to be for the Chicken Teri because getting anything else pretty much defeats the purpose of coming here in the first place. The proportion size is VERY generous, especially if you order«double meat» for just over a buck extra. Soft drink selection is small, the the cup sizes are good. Especially if you get a Large drink… that cup is just ridiculous, the only thing bigger would be a bucket! Anyways, definitely my favorite place to eat in this mall other than Sbarro. But when I visit Yorktown, Sarku is where I have lunch about 85% of the time. Great Place!!!

Good food but creepy employees! I work at the stand right next to them(I’d prefer not to name which one) but owner is always nice and the other men behind the counter are total creeps. We have to constantly keep our door to the back hallway closed because they bark and meow at my girl employees. Then when you’re waiting for your food one boy with a lip ring claps his hands ridiculously loud to get your attention. It’s sad they have those kind of employees or else I would go there more often. The sushi is decent and the chicken is good. The rice is bland and everything is under seasoned. On the bright side you do get a lot of food for your buck.

Try the teriyaki chicken combo you get more food in a to go box as for extra sauce, yum! Hot and fresh with steamed veggies. Sushi is ok, it’s a food court. This is our go to place when we’re at the mall. Pro: Fresh made food plate or to go container Con: Too much rice, wish they would equal out the serving of rice and steamed veggies.

4 stars. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in the mall. I ALWAYSGETTHECHICKENTERRYAKI!!! Ask for double meat, well done, and extra, extra sauce! It’s enough to feed my entire family! I get it with double vegetables. The rice is bland and adds nothing to the dish. The price seems to go up everytime I look, though. Darned inflation. Doggone recession.

Kinda’ a guilty pleasure of mine, but still one of my top 10 fav foods, this place is famous for their Chicken Teriyaki. It’s filling, tasy, and affordable. Don’t watch them make it if you’re faint of heart, though. I’m guessing they aren’t using chicken breast for it. It looks a little fatty.
